Quote:How many Lucks were you popping at a time? 4 gets you to the soft cap and no matter what the mob is, it starts missing a lot. It doesn't matter how many there are, they can't hit you.At level 19 I think I can carry ten? inspirations. Ten Lucks or BFs are not going to overcome multiple waves of the same Elite Boss. If I even touched her green bar she summoned yet another wave of clones.
This is so far beyond the pale of what a level 19 can do that I find it almost funny. -
It is indeed, since I do speak leet. Don't ask me how... one day I just simply read a sentence in leet and understood it without any prior experience.

Quote:Did you try Lucks? Lucks help immensely.Try it on any flavor of level 19-ish Controller and let me know how you do.
The problem was not that I wasn't focusing on her, its that I can't take hits from 10+ Vanessas on a level 19 character - especially on a character with no shields whatsoever. I can't carry enough breakfrees to protect myself from ten mezzing/sleeping/whatever Vanessas. I would have assembled a team, but in Praetoria that would have meant facing 30 Vanessas, not just ten: I know how Praetoria rolls. Teams just make it worse.
*abandon mission from contact* Finito. -
Quote:She isn't actually that hard of a fight. Yeah, purples are always key with EB fights, but after that preparation, she goes down like a chump. Then I finish a mission, hit level 12, and talk to Beholder for my next mission.
"Defeat the Aspect of Praetor Tilman"
I've never done this mission before, but I have a very bad feeling about it. The temptation to stock up on reds and purples and put all my faith in an opening AS is high.
Quote:Ever find that, for one reason or another, you find yourself really anticipating one particular fight, despite the fact it's just one of many any character will have?
Oh, and a little while ago, my tanker killed Ghost Widow, alone, without a Shivan (which I recall was almost always recommended with her). Despite a number of hospital trips and cheating ***** powers, she eventually went down. -
Yeah, I'd sure like to know how the Rikti are connected. It's almost a non sequitur. The only connection I can think of is the fact that the Rikti repelled their reality's version of the Battalion from their world millennia ago.

What I meant was Incarnate stuff for Loyalists. Y'know, like raid Nemesis Rex's home for Cole or bomb Axis Amerika to oblivion for Cole, etc. etc..

Quote:Signed. Are we confusing "This has no plot at all" with "I don't like it because it isn't the way I would have written it?"
One of these choices implies that the story sucks on all levels, no matter who is looking at it. That is a huge problem that should be addressed.
The other one can't be helped, because pleasing everyone is impossible. If a Dev worried about making everyone happy, they'd never put out a game because it would never be finished.
Praetoria, nor the Incarnate story, fall under the first option. There are things about both I probably would have done a bit differently, but I let go of where I expected the story to go and am trying to enjoy where the writers are taking us with THEIR story. -
Quote:I hope its Loyalist content (it really doesn't make sense that die-hard Loyalist characters are suddenly fighting Praetorians) and Incarnate solo-friendly content for whatever side of the fence the character sits on.The only dev response so far to the handful of "we h8 pr3t0ri4z" types has been to announce that the next 2 Trials are against Anti-Matter and the Preetorian Hamidon - and these are the same devs who pulled a major feature from GR to redesign it to match player feedback - so it's not that they don't lsiten
Also, after those 2 Trials, there is a lot more Praetorian content to come -
Another thing that you cannot give credit to. Still wrong.

Quote:Yeah, it's kinda hard to justify handicapped individuals when there are heroes going around capable of healing people.Free will? Bahh...
There goes Generic Wheelchair-user on the street, minding his own business...
An Empath flies by, points her hand, and with a green flash Generic Wheelchair-user turns into Generic Walking Citizen.
With the same free will everyone gets when a Kin goes around sneak-boosting people...
But what about the Rogue Isles? -

Quote:I don't think we can classify any of the Praetors as good or even decent; pragmatic maybe. Some of them loyal - definitely. They're not completely devoid of good qualities, but White keeping the destroyers around by supplying them, not to mention some of the worst excesses he seems to approve of with Powers Division makes him selfish and uncaring at best, and purposefully corrupt at worst.Quote:

So...Washington went and offed her, huh...guess he had a point. I woulda gotten Cleo outta anything. Had to do what he had to do. -
Quote:Praetor White seems like a pretty decent fellow as well, despite his short fuse and the fact that he punches like a truck. Sure, he supplies the Destroyers with Fixadine, but they used to be his old gang and he wasn't the one who got them hooked on it in the first place.Actually Praetoria does not force people to be evil. On the Warden side, there is Tunnel Rat, Jessica Flores, Luke Larson, Dr. Arvin, Seer 1381, Aaron Walker, and Penelope Yin. On the Responsibility side there is Cleopatra, Washington, Warrant, Kang, Alec Parson, and IVy.
Even some of the Praetors are not evil. Antimatter just has bad taste in women and Bobcat has bad taste in guys and seems to be a ditz. Dominatrix, Diabolique, Mother Mayhem, Malaise, and Infernal are rotten to the core. Siege and Nightstar are programmed so it is debatable if they are evil or not. Not sure where to put Cole and Neuron. Praetoria is not the mirror universe version of Primal Earth, but an Earth where things went very, very wrong and certain people had to make difficult decisions that ruined their innocence.
We can blame Dominatrix for that. -
Quote:If that's a shot at the prequels, then frankly you can't really give them credit as each film, like any other film, must be judged separately and they didn't exist way back when, well, Star Wars came out.In hindsight, it turns out the critics were right about Star Wars...
So no. They were not right. -
Quote:Venture always seems to make those styles of arguments. I think he believes himself as some kind of self-imposed representative of the entire playerbase. My problem wasn't with Venture's side of the argument - I happen to (with qualifications) agree with him. It's that the way he argued his side was an unsubstantiated claim designed to pointlessly belittle the other side. It's a cheap argument. It's lazy, and it's malicious at it's very very worst. If you think your side of the argument is obvious then say it's obvious to you, and lay out the position. If it's not obvious then I'll ask why it's obvious, but don't say "My position is obvious, and most of the players agree with me, because everyone I've run into thinks the same". I don't know who he asked - was it friends (which tends to be a self selected homogenous group)? Was it randoms? How many? What percentage of the player base? Across multiple servers? On the forums (which is a self selected group of people with generally strong opinions)? Without that information, a statement that "most people believe that..." might or might not be lying, but I have no way of finding out.
Um, yeah... well I'll state here and now, he doesn't speak for me or anyone else who isn't him. Venture's just one player. Screw his ego. -

I never really listen that much to critics anyway. They are almost always wrong. Anyone remember Star Wars' critical reception? Case. In. Point.

Just about every bit of dialogue from Doc Buzzsaw and Vernon von Grun. I love those two, they crack me up.
Also, Dmitri Krylov has a few good lines: "What you wait for! Krylov wants those notes before scary supermodel leaves!" -

A man deciding not to murder the person he was planning to kill because his plot was uncovered does not make him any less a criminal.

Is it sad that I can read the Freaks' leet speak without any difficulty?
