  1. Yeah, I kept thinking the Special Tactics van was using "special" tactics indeed. And now I know what Recluse got from the Well. Enzyte.

It's not heat. I have a case with two 18 cm and two 9 cm fans. And it's kept dust free. Bi-weekly cleanings. This is graphic corruption I've seen on and off through several different video cards. Regardless, a new system is in the cards come tax refund time.

I love shopping for computer parts. It doesn't happen often enough.

  3. I have a lot more, but these are the most striking.
  4. Yeah, still happening to me. The load time is brutal. This can't be WAI. It's gotten to the point that I start loading and walk away from the computer for 10 minutes or so. Totally ridiculous. If it makes any difference, it seems to peg one CPU core as well.
  5. Put a fluid level on top and hammer shim stock under the edges.

Then again, I STILL prefer the notion that someone sat down and wrote 100MBs worth of software as a solution to the crashing problem
Yeah, the "psychedelic" effect. I've got a few screenies of that. Wouldn't mind it being gone.

  8. They seem to think that I like ice because the ice put ice on my ice, for the ice that is already icy. Then we got freezing rain. Which I think is a sneaky way of saying ice.
  9. My PC is under my table. On the left.

  12. I would complain about the six foot mounds of snow all over my neighborhood, but everything's being covered with an inch thick layer of ice as I type. So I'm kind of looking back at snowfall as "the good old days" right now.
  13. Raises a Mimosa and a bacon sandwich in appreciation. Well done devs.

    Good idea puppeh.
  14. Honestly, all this rhetoric about nerfing stuff because it annoys one personally is narrow minded, not to mention tiresome.
  15. So at the risk of replying to my own reply, Professor Aether:

Used to be Dr. Aether. But then the game started to act wonky when he was about 20/22. I'd get these issues where I was constantly rubberbanding. Not a lot, but constantly. Sort of a 4 steps forward, one step back kind of thing. At the time many DXDiags and various other diagnostics were run. I was in pretty regular touch with tech support. I think it was around I6 or so, but that is the past and an old guy like me doesn't remember too well.

It wasn't my computer and using an early version of Wireshark and other traceroute proggies didn't show anything either. My point was that it was on the server end. No joy was found. I logged off and let my account lapse for about 6 months.

I came back and checked. Several names that I had on alts were gone. Thus Dr. Aether became Professor Aether. But I cared not.

Eventually I Purchased the Good and Evil box and started playing redside. Everyone said that stalkers sucked, so I made a claws/regen stalker then a bots/bubble MM.

I kept going back to the new Professor. I liked the idea of a fire/ice guy.

Long story short, my claws/regen got to 46 while my fire/ice languished in the blue.

Then the altitis hit me. Like I said, 60 alts now. And I play 50% of them every game session for a bit.

Finally I decided to go back to the Professor and play him the way he deserved. I never grouped with him back in the day and so he became my solo guy.

And here we are today. Now he melts groups and kills bosses. He has enough single NPC holds to shut down a boss or occasionally a GM (with lots of purples) to make me proud.

Here's to you Prof. Aether! Thanks for the ride!

BTW, he will RP if it calls for it. His father is Alois Aether. A mage of some repute. His mother is a mutant. Her name is Felina Ocultos.

They are well to do, but not wealthy. He doesn't need their money, having made his own selling relics and other things at Wentworths. He normally would rather be enjoying himself at a party or the opera. But he also understands that the good of the many outweigh his personal revelry. Usually.

Most recently he was teaching Applied Thaumaturgy. Now retired, he fights the good fight. And drinks the good stuff (usually in Steel Canyon).
  16. Thanks all. And DB, I'm at about 1.4 bil on that character alone. Soon I will be Ebil, if you know what I mean.
  17. Yes. After over six years and 60 alts I finally have a 50! My second ever bluseside char, Professor Aether fire/ice/fire blaster. Soloed all the way. Time to crack a few beers and get my first redside char, a claws/regen/soul stalker from 46 to 50.

    Gotta love double XP weekends!

Wow. You are full of yourself aren't you? I don't know if you noticed it, but the economy these days sucks. Not everyone can run out an buy a new gaming computer. Especially if they're unemployed.

It only takes one self-centered jerk like yourself to screw up WW/BM for everyone else there at the time. There is a lot more I'd like to add here but I don't want to get banned from the forum. Please don't bother to reply. You are my first new ignore since the forums were reset.

    yeah I'm paranoid.

Sorry if I worry too much.
Dude! You are SO harshing my buzz. Chill, chiiiilllllll !!
  20. I have a character, my main, that had the old chat UI with top and bottom on it. It worked fine for a long time (about six years) but recently the "bottom" part is gone. I still have the "top" part. But only one window. By losing the "bottom" I also lost the chat area. I tried \ window_resetall but no joy. Any help would be appreciated. I can't even find the option to add a "chat" tab to the existing window. There is literally a space where chat would be in my list of available options.
  21. Thank you. Exactly. Sorry I put it in a joking way. I do that sometimes. It was a crappy analogy. But I thought it made sense at the time.

I understand. Your house is on fire. But this is a hospital. We can't help you. You should go talk to the fire department down the block.

    Get it?
