Quote:Oh crap, I just logged in and accidentally accepted the new EULA and received an email saying I just lost my 19th Amendment. I guess I'll never have the right to vote as a woman.Quote:Let me tell you man, you do not know what you are missing. It is a real experience. Especially once the FBI HRT showed up. Maybe I should have shaved my beard.

Quote:Yeah! Next we'll have furless characters dressing in furless skins. Like humans in leather jackets and pants and stuff. Totally weird, yo.Playing a furred character who is also dressed in the fur of dead animals seems a bit... Odd, truth be told
Anyway, glad to hear you're enjoying the new issue. Don't ever stop criticizing the stuff you don't like and praising the stuff you do. -
Quote:Well, prior to Freemdom launching i'd joked in a global channel about trying to grab all the reasonable permutations of a certain name, but then realized i'd rather they got the name as fair warning to others.I saw a number of people that were gloating about doing it on Exalted the first night. Yes, saying so out loud in chat. I thought they were douchebags then.
You could also see all the namegrabbers by the gray-generic characters that were appearing and logging off right away at the base of the stairs.
Luckily for me, I got the ones I needed for my existing characters.

Not to mention i wouldn't do that to someone else no matter how little i think of them.
i did get the name Starspawn on Exalted for my new Kheldian, so there is that. -
Quote:Odd. i bought Barbarians, Backpack, and Beam Rifle with no issues. Also picked up the server transfer six pack.Did anyone buy the Barbarian set? I seem to be having an issue with it, I bought it but its unlocking. I am looking at the individual pieces and they still all show as locked.
Has anyone had luck? I bought it about 4 hours ago.. and have been offline since then and logged back on to no avail.
Tempted to purchase the additional enhancement tray, but holding off on getting more for now. Got new power and costume sets to look forward to after all. -

The fix worked just fine for me. Excellent.

Quote:In other words...Can we have a serious debate without name calling and insults? We're all mature individuals here, right?
Deliberate lies, distortions, and hyperbole: acceptable, even encouraged.
Being rude in the process: unacceptable.
Those are the intended house rules of this thread? Interesting. -
i think i might go Sonic as my Secondary since i'm planning to remake my Cold/AR Def as a Beam Rifle Corruptor.

Quote:Curious. You're still posting.Welcome to city of heroes forums. If you are not blinded by fandom, get out.
This leaves two options:
1) You're blinded by fandom. (Admittedly you could be blinded by fandom of homoerotic lucha libre and Japanese wrestling slash fics, and not City of Heroes, since the nature of the fandom wasn't specified.)
2) You don't listen to yourself.
The rest of this post has absolutely nothing to do with MAD UMLAUTS.
While i am concerned somewhat by how much broader the new EULA wording appears to be i'm not about to quit just yet. i will continue following any reasonable discussions with interest, and even some of the less reasonable but at least intelligible discussions. Gibbering lunacy will be skipped over.
Westley has at least avoided gibbering lunacy even of some of his arguments are hindered by misunderstanding/misuse of the terms he's using. Unlike some others here. That is to say i understand many of the concerns being raised even if some of the objections involve irrelevant/fallacious assertions. -
i'm fine with farmers demanding whatever fee they want per run, be it nothing or 100 million inf. Nobody is forced to join a farm or pay a fee. The only reason farmers can charge tens of millions per run is that people agree to pay that much. Others are free to run farm teams and charge as little as they want.
The asinine squabbles that also tend to clog AP broadcast on some servers annoys me at least as much as farm spam. i mostly ignore broadcast in AP when it's full of annoying dreck anyway. -

The locality consolidation happened some time before the server list merge, but wasn't as widely mentioned since it didn't really affect most players very much. Germany's data infrastructure is bad enough that moving the EU servers to the US actually improved latency for many EU players.

Quote:Interesting. Good luck with that. Based on my experiences over the years with teams that are all Defenders it should be pretty easy. i'd offer to join, but i wasn't part of the Enigmatic Eight originally.Calling all members of the enigmatic eight who did the all defender ITF team. It's time for a reunion team up.
After much reminiscing, it's time to bring it back to prove again the defenders can do it. This time : Statesman
Freya (myself) Zippy and Altered States are ready we need the other 5.
The Enigmatic Eight shall rise again -
Quote:This. The game specifically has folders that allow users to replace certain game assets with custom versions. This includes things like fonts, icons, sounds, and other things. This functionality allows users to alter some elements of the game for themselves without modifying the game code itself. The only reason to set it up like that in the first place is so that users can tweak their experience without having to modify the client. (Which is forbidden.)First: Vidiotmaps is not part of the Titan Network. That's part of badge-hunter.
Second: Vidiotmaps is not "modding" the game. It is placing files in a subfolder that the game specifically looks for to overwrite sounds/images/whatever in the piggs. "Modding" the game is specifically changing the actual game files themselves. Vidiotmaps does not change a single file of the game itself. -
Quote:This future smell funny. Can i have a different one?No, this isn't about Emmet Brown popping up in Argentina.
It's about self-lacing shoes being objects, not of tommorow, but of today.
Now where's my flying car?
All silliness aside i like the cause that the shoes are funding, but i'm considerably more ambivalent about the shoes themselves. Which i suppose is a moot point since i'm not going to buy them anyway.
If it's about self-lacing shoes shouldn't there be some in the links? -
Well, you can buy an invention license for the low price of approximately $2 worth of points a month. (Prices may change after launch, but are most likely to decrease if they do.) Purchasing those points will also count towards more rewards tokens. As long as your kids don't mind having access to fewer characters going Premium and buying enough points for the features they really want may be perfectly workable.

i never interacted with him directly, but i always enjoyed reading his posts.
i hadn't given his lack of posts much thought; pretty much assuming he'd simply stopped subbing for far more ordinary (and nonfatal) reasons.
Lord_Of_Time was definitely one of my all time favorite posters.
He is missed.

Quote:Limited in character slots, yes. That's the only way free players will be more limited once Freedom launches. In almost every other respect they will be far less limited. And removing most of those limits will be far cheaper than in the past.Sure, but shortly it will only offer two. This is not to try and diminish your point, naturally, simply to point out the choices for free players (essentially an unlimited trial which hopefully leads to purchases or a subscription) will be more limited.
The draconian removal of the level 14 limit for free players is but one example. -

Quote:Considering that there was talk of eventually being able to pact whole teams when level pacting was in development it might be a while to get the code fix up and running. Now i've only used level pacting once myself, but if anyone has any soon to be created characters they really want to pact i'd seriously make sure to do it before the head start ends. There are 'concerns' about level pacting under FREEDOM which need a coding fix. During the VIP Head Start, level pacts can still be made. And after Head Start is over and the F2P players start play, those previously created level pacts will continue to exist. However, once F2P starts, no new level pacts can be made until they put in the coding fix. No time estimation of when that will be.

Quote:Definitely defiant, yes.Yeah, i defiantly think the budget is a reason. A little sweat and Bam! super strength.
i've watched a few episodes and enjoyed them. Enough so that i had to double check that it was really on the siffy channel. While it's true that siffy loves cheap shows it seems to me that they usually want the show to clearly look cheap as well through bad writing and/or blatantly lousy production values.
Alphas comes across as more of a show that tries to make the most of their budget to tell a good scifi story. Definitely not where siffy's priorities usually lie. -
