All of the above and so i can randomly throw a "Flying Disc" at someone.
Sometimes. -

*checks calendar* Nope, not yet.
Try again in... oh... carry the twelve... check pockets for lint... i'd say about 27 months. Give or take a few.

True, they would've all long since been subsumed into the Devouring Earth, there to dwell in happy communion with the Will of the Earth.
That is assuming no Tyrant at all. If he'd been a bit less authoritarian but still present there probably would've been fewer plots by the Resistance to massacre random civilians. Fewer, not zero. -
So magical that they aren't even mentioned anywhere, just like the aforementioned MAGICAL ZOMBIES.
Seriously though, there hasn't been that much magic in the majority of the Praetorian storylines and recent issues. The Wells are about as magic as Galactus, the Phoenix Force, and Captain Universe. That is that they're some sort of cosmic power/entity that is magical in more the Arthur C. Clarke mode. In fact most of the praetorian stuff is explicitly high tech, so i'm not seeing the huge amount of recent magic the OP apparently has. SSA1, Dark Astoria and DD is mostly it. -
Quote:Those Scrappers were created as somewhat literal strawmen to validate the devs' hunches about Scrapper changes that they strongly felt were needed based on the degree to which they understood the game's rules?I'm more interested to know what the devs were on that evening.
But you know I still haven't gotten an answer to my question yet. Which is that while everyone was focused on the fact the test was run without the purple patch, I asked dozens of times why, and how, the devs were testing the Super Reflexes build with two more enhancement slots than everyone else. Which they never even acknowledged, much less corrected. -

Quote:Uh... because obfuscated, counterintuitively complicated power system mechanics are a good thing and having you tease them apart would ruin the game? There are players who think that another good thing is that it doesn't have Arcanaville. I know this, because I had a number of CO forum posters tell me that in PMs in response to some of my early posts about the game mechanics (I haven't posted there in a long time).
I suppose that's a compliment, sorta. -
Verizon FiOS is not currently available in North Carolina, but i would also suggest cable as the next best thing.
Edit: *huh* i didn't find any links showing where FiOS was available, but i'll defer to your knowledge since i've never spent a lot of time in NC or used FiOS. -

Quote:Eating aliens causes brain rot. i thought everyone knew that.I think you are over reacting, maintenance has to be done or eventually it would all come to a screeching halt. So for those few hours you won't be able to buy points to buy w/e costume piece you randomly feel you need and don't have... like you can't buy it the next day?
As far as billing services if your account expires on that day exactly (which I doubt it does) your card would likely be billed weather before or after said window, and your account will likely be billed before or after the maintenance window if you use time cards simply buy one and apply before said date. if you need switch which card you use do it before the window like the day before.
It is a few hours man, not the end of the world real or digital. -
Ah, excellent. My Blaster with the primarily red and blue tights outfit named Staysdead will find this a superior replacement for the Valkyrie helm he's using now.

Quote:Oh Gort, i am so thankful i wasn't drinking anything when i read this, because i very nearly spit on my monitor as it was. If i had been taking a drink at the time i'd probably need a new monitor. My husband already has a character ready to go for THAT one, then...

Quote:A great suggestion! My only concern would be that the forums are not frequented by the majority of the player base (less than 10%) and as such are not the ideal avenue to convey such information.
As other have suggested, maybe PS could just have a link show up on the updater or something...
Quote:Personally, I'm also in the camp that has no use for vanity pets. I've never been one for the Pokemon approach to in game pets, but that's my personal preference. Perhaps I'm privileged in the fact that I can see that there is a significant portion of our Community who is excited by vanity pets and show us so. It may not be good for me, but it's good for other people who really enjoy this type of content.Quote:Staff Fighting isn't tomorrow.
Although, I would say that tomorrow's item is pretty much my favorite Paragon Market offering.
The cats are tempting, but to be honest i almost never use the buff pets anymore, much less the other vanity pets i have. Although i think they're awesome for those who do like them. Admittedly if the Vanity Pet was released i would buy it in a flash. While it's not the same as having the Luggage or the Armoire of Invincibility, i would love to have a piece of furniture scurrying around behind me everywhere.
Also: Extremely nice fake-out on the Liger. i really love how the actual Liger pet is even more Napoleon Dynamite themed than what was posted on the first. Bra-vo. -

Quote:Yeah, while i like the current Dev team quite a bit, you should remember who the studio that actually made CoH was... i'll just say none of the games they've made since have really appealed to me.I've enjoyed CoH so far, so I'd totally check out another MMO made by the same studio.
Now, the current team has done a fantastic job (in my possibly biased opinion) of expanding on the original game, particularly in the gameplay and aesthetics. The storylines have occasionally been a bit hit or miss, but there were some real stinkers in the release material. One thing they have definitely improved upon is understanding the mechanics and engine of the game, as well as establishing a rapport with their playerbase.
So yeah, i'll probably try any other game put out by Paragon Studios, but games by the studio that made CoH? Not so much. -
Quote:Not really the same thing. Still, i don't think a new AT is promised, but Zwill's thread combined with some other posts and comments by PS people in the past make me think it's a distinct possibility even if it's not exactly guaranteed. So basically the same way we had "OMG They're going to a serverless environment!" going on for a few years because, when they started offering server transfers, they put in a disclaimer that said "no refunds if we ever do anything that would make this invalid, for instance going to a serverless environment."
They put in an example of something and some people were practically jumping up and down going "they promised!" and the like. -
Quote:Uh, i would agree that *some* people want to make their own unique characters, but every single time i log in and go somewhere with many players i see dozens of examples that demonstrate that there are many people who really don't want to make unique characters.<snip>as I just don't believe playing unoriginal characters will draw people in. I think people want to make their own unique characters.
Personally i do prefer to make unique characters, but i have no illusions about the player of V3g3ta SS7's Energy/Energy Blaster aiming for uniqueness. Or that Katana Scrapper named Deathp00l dressed in red and black. Or the 80,000 other copies of present and past popular fictional characters.
None of which bothers me as long as i can make my character unique. -
Quote:Says you, jerk!Nah, CoH has always had a pretty good community. Honestly, I think if anything it's gotten a little nastier than it used to be.
...
More seriously, phloogie, pretty much all Praetoria-related content is harder than standard content, whether it's Praetoria itself, First Ward or the assorted Incarnate content.
There's also a wide range of skill levels in the game. There are people who find base settings a challenge and people who crank everything up at level 1. The major difference is that in many ways CoH has always been more casual in the gameplay area, and with a few exceptions most players aren't going to act elitist and condescending just because you can't solo a Giant Monster blindfolded with one powerset tied behind your back. (Don't ask how you get the blindfold on the GM; it isn't easy.) -

Quote:Xanatos is making an arrogant, intolerant, demanding, and unreasonable post? April Fools!Lose the attitude. Paying customers will give whatever feedback they want. Who are you to say it's hyperbole? It doesn't matter what the dev team do, what matters is how they're perceived. If you put out half finished content like the newest SSA then people are going to think the devs don't care about the writing in this game. Your job, as a community lead, is to manage expectations. Not tell paying customers to stfu!
As a long time fan of the CoH Franchise (10 years baby!) I can't begin to tell you how frustrating this is to me. This game has so much potential. -
Quote:Yeah, but i'm pretty happy with the powersets selection and the new ones still in pre-Beta, so i'm a gettin' me that new Vanity Pet! It's even better than the Liger!

My thoughts exactly. Playing characters with digitigrade legs is a lot harder since i wasn't able to get a set of Weta Legs, and other versions aren't as easy for going to the fridge.
