Well, at 25 you unlock a second column of titles, so if you selected Ferocious from the second column without unchecking Ruthless in the first column you will be both ruthless and ferocious.

Champion and Virtue for the most part. Some characters in the 30's to 50 on a few other servers. Lower level characters on every server.

No.
(If i'm selected it's because the Devs think i will contribute something to the process. If i'm not it's because they don't. Since i don't know the exact criteria for selecting closed beta testers i'm not going to bother trying to justify my inclusion.) -
Incredibly unlikely that you will be able to use Nova without changing to the Nova model. Far more likely to get alternate colors. In terms of game lore the way a Kheldian gains access to the Nova's full powers is by duplicating the original creature's form. As creatures evolved to float in the atmosphere of a gas giant it seems a bit unlikely there were human-shaped Novas floating about.

The presentation isn't fancy, but the functionality is great. Many thanks.

While i've been tempted to try joining one of the Green Machine groups my general preference is for debuff-heavy sets. i like pissing off mobs as i cripple them. That and i don't have to take taunt to herd.
Another factor is that i already team with the Pingus. If no one's dying on a Pingu team you're not trying hard enough. A Pingu MoSTF run is likely to include running it on Invincible just to keep it interesting. (Of course there's also less dying on a MoSTF run.) -
What Fulmens said. There are many AE missions designed to maximize xp/hr, but people were already doing that by not completing and resetting missions that had enemies that were easier for that character years before AE existed.
Unless the mission is clearly allowing you to gain enormous amounts of XP for next to no risk it's generally not going to get you banned. Boss farms and Slammer farms give very large rewards, but can also quickly result in teamwipes if someone slips up. The biggest risk to a player in doing those missions is boredom due to monotonous enemies, not banning or removal of characters.
Edit: The popular term among the MMO community for level boosting is power leveling. -

Quote:That's a good point. There is nothing inherently wrong with building a character who focuses on healing others, even if it may be less than optimal. There are MAN builds, toggle men and petless Masterminds fer cripe's sake. A healer is much easier to play than those in my opinionI bolded the important part of this post. You might want to take a step back and look at the stereotype YOU are perpetuating.
That said, i would still advise against taking the medicine pool. The powers are all inferior versions of what an empath gets in their primary, and can be interrupted as well. Slot your primary powers well and take Hasten to boost recharge for when you need to do a lot of healing.
If you take, slot and use your non-green-number-generating buffs as well you can keep ahead of the healing even on tough missions. (Though you may not want to use the buffs too liberally as it may drastically reduce the amount of healing you get to do.)
For a healing-based character in the upper levels i'd also suggest avoiding teams with multiple support characters who aren't healing-centric as well. You might find yourself going most of an entire mission with little to do since no teammate will drop below 90% health more than once or twice the entire time. Sonic Resonance might be a good choice if the team insists on having a non-healer along. Teammates will still take damage, even though it will be greatly reduced, so your powers will have noticeable benefits aside from making a pretty glow.
Edit: Just to be clear, by "non-healer" i don't mean a support set that has no heals, but a support set player that focuses on buffs and/or debuffs instead of or in addition to healing. A Rad or Dark can also focus on being a healer, but will need to dip into the medicine pool to do so. -
No idea. i remember using it a long time ago, but i wasn't playing Assault Rifle users for a while, so i have no idea when it was removed.
-
No no, assault rifle users had an alternate brawl animation that used smacking enemies with the butt of the rifle long before there were VEATs.

Quote:Mids' Hero & Villain Designer is an excellent application for designing builds.Thanks.
Bouncing around the wiki, I think I have a pretty good general understanding of the principles.
Figuring out which set to take seems pretty straightforward, but the whole enterprise seems a bit confusing to try to figure out how many to take from a set and to avoid bumping into various caps.
You can find it here. -
Quote:This. First thing i always do is right-click the bottom chat window and yank broadcast. Well, i used to do that, but now i just use the load chat settings button in options. Of course you need to first set up chat windows and channels the way you want them and click the save chat settings first, but ever since i did that loading chat options is the first thing i do.One recommendation I would make to the new player is to take the Broadcast chat off the bottom chat panel, because its already in the top, and you really dont need it twice.
I'd also say don't judge the whole community from one member. I can't speak for him, but I try to introduce people to things gradually.
Broadcast channel is nigh-worthless while in Atlas Park or Cap au Diable. Slightly useful elsewhere. -
Quote:The problem is that UAC trains them to do that by being too sensitive and popping up redundant and irrelevant windows constantly. i was helping my boss set up a new system the other day, and for one application i was installing it spawned at least six UAC windows in a row when starting the setup for a single piece of software. It is, vastly. For what its worth, I don't turn it off in Windows 7 and I'm much like you in that its one of the first things I do on Vista.
The UAC was a good idea, but the problem lies in that most people are trained to "just click next" without actually reading what they're doing.
It's the equivalent of calling the police and screaming into the phone every time you any noise at all outside. After a while the police are going to start ignoring the calls. -
Quote:Are you talking about Champion server specifically, or did you just post this in a randomly selected forum? It is really getting bad. Ever since AE. The servers are down more times then not for some reason or another. I for one are getting upset, every time I log in the servers are down.
sure hope they do something about it soon.
You do realize that down more often than not is at least 12 hours and 1 minute a day that the servers are down, right? i have not noticed the servers being down more than not and i play mostly on Champion. In fact i would say that the servers are up much more than they are down. (Generally 22-24 hours a day.)
The standard maintenance window when the servers might shut down temporarily is 8 AM to 10 AM Eastern time. For the last several years they've usually only used it on Mondays and Fridays. It used to be almost every day.
There have been several unscheduled or very short notice emergency maintenance shutdown and restarts due to recent issues with a build, but otherwise the downtimes have generally been within the times set aside for server maintenance. -

Maybe they should just have a warning displayed at the main page of the forums. Something like:
WARNING: Contains Language.
Then they could relax the filter to the point of only censoring overtly offensive words. After all, i could tell people in no uncertain terms to go do things far more graphic than any two censored words on the list without using a single word that is even slightly risque by itself.

Quote:Luggage rack? In which language?Just go with "baka."
Depending on the listener/reader, they will either think you are talking about a fool or a luggage rack.
U'*** Gr'ai
Edit: Okay, in which European language is k-o-n an obscenity and/or insult? Looks like the forum merge has made the Americans (and game itself) into inadvertent potty-mouths. -
