I know Virtue has pulled off a raid with somewhere around 30 people before as well. I'm sure with some planning some lower population servers would be able to pull it off. You might have to nit-pick a little bit at what AT's to bring though.
This pretty much sums up my experiences with the Virtue Raids. i remember we started a raid with about 30 people and were on the second round by the time we hit 40 in the Hive. It was a bit tough, but doable. Keep in mind this was using whatever AT's showed up for the raid, not optimized teams.

i recall one Virtue Hami raid where a few in the peanut gallery were expressing doubts about whether we could succeed because there were (OMG) only two Empaths at the raid. The raid was completed successfully.

i'd wager that a fairly active SG with skilled leaders, a reasonable mix of AT's and mostly competent players could run successful raids with no help.

Now here's an interesting challenge: running a Hami raid using no more than 3 teams. i'm pretty sure it would be quite doable.

i'd go with the Sonic/Rad Corruptor.
Sonic/Traps would also be pretty good, but Acid Mortar's recharge is a bit long at that level for my taste.
Also, RI+AM are both very tasty.

    The new fruit?

Once you start cranking out the AoE's you will find that Stamina can be useful. My Traps/Dark is in the mid 30's, and during really busy battles it is possible to start running out of endurance even with Stamina.

Doing the first respec trial was awesome. Between waves i just stayed at the core and covered it with mines, mortars and poison traps. Porters appear and go cartwheeling away to land in a crumpled heap. Other groups rushed forward into clouds of gas and mortar barrages. You'd think piling high explosives onto a reactor core you're defending would be a bad tactic, but apparently not.
  4. i'm rather fond of Plant/Rad for a nature-themed witch.
Mind/Storm is pretty witchy in my opinion.
    Perhaps a Fire/Mental Blaster?

i once made a Dark/Rad Defender named Swamp Witch. Turns out that i'm not as fond of Radiation Blast as i'd hoped. Still debating whether to remake her (probably as Plant/Rad) when GR comes out.

That was my understanding as well. i think it was verified by noting the number and location of yellows. When a Yellow Dawn happened a yellow Mito would appear directly over each player and pet if they were in the bowl. A complete, nigh-unrecoverable wipe would quickly follow.

Being able to access/unlock subcategories of capes was added long after the Collector's Edition. Back when the Prestige Power Slide was still fairly new and common it was often called the "noob scooter".

The funny thing is that for a few months before the pack (and Slide power) was added to the game i had a flying blaster who would frequently use the power slide animation for several seconds when moving after entering a zone by train with Fly toggled on. It was just the pose without the glow effect, so it sort of looked like she was riding an invisible surfboard out of the tram station.

What a coincidence; i resonantly herd stories as well.

Why just recently i heard that it's becoming quite the popular thing to do while on holiday. Where do you herd yours?

    Yet.

Actually it seems to be fine so far. CoH even crashed to desktop once, which implies everything is back to normal.
  11. Righto. As i had suspected, the -5v rail of the power supply was bad and all that was needed was a new PSU. Back online and soon to be back in game.

Towards the end we were running 25 - 30 minute raids like clockwork and we had fun doing it.

Then came issue 9 and the new Hami. I tried it, and I tanked the first successful raid on the Test Server... still it was a pain in the butt. When issue 9 went live most of us veteran raiders tried the new encounter and most of those I knew didn't like it and moved on to other areas.

I attended more than 300 raids based on my HO storage racks in the Issue 4-8 period; I've attended exactly 4 raids since. It may be a "better" encounter now, but it's absolutely zero fun for me anymore.

So chalk that up to a vote of no for the new Hami. The STF is considerably more fun and offers the same rewards.
Were you doing Guardian's "okay, we had our raid and it went well, the rest of you peasants can have a raid without interference since we got what we wanted" private SG raids, or the more public raids that the SG allowed afterward if they didn't slip up and cause a yellow dawn or otherwise feel the regular players were out of line?

Regardless, when the new raids went live i was playing mostly on Virtue and found the raids there to be quite fast and fun. Most raids were completed in about 45 minutes. Since they were advertised in the forums, global channels and even through broadcast in several zones, and held at the same times and dates every week they were first come, first serve public events that hinged on everybody doing what they were good at and adapting based on which AT's/sets showed up.

Virtue raids are still going strong, but i haven't been to many Virtue raids since the first successful use of the no evac strategy. Which is sort of a shame, since getting that to work was an interesting change in tactics and i've missed the most recent innovation that combines elements of the no evac strategy sans the pets with regular tactics.

Oh, and redside raids are entertaining in that they remind more of the old Hamidon raid with the MM pet stream drawing aggro.

My DM/Elec Brute begs to differ. Chief Soldiers are slightly crunchier and actually sting when they hit, but they also make for a tasty snack.

Step 3. Wipe out all the mitos again!
Step 4. Attack Hami! At 50% health, the mitos respawn.

Step 8. Attack Hami! Win! 52 merits or a random Hami-O. Whee.
That is sort of the basic strategy still, but that's sort of like describing Patton's campaigns as "a bunch of soldiers and armor all move onto the battlefield and start shooting." It's not wrong as far as it goes, but if that's your entire strategy you will fail horribly.

Unlike Neuronia I like the new strategy more. It may not be as easy as the old raid, but to me the greater need for coordination and an active role for every AT is much more fun.

If you're experimenting with builds on test I'd suggest starting with one enhancer in a passive like Quickness or Swift and checking your speed each time you add another. The speed gained per additional slot may not be enough to justify adding that second or third slot. (YMMV)
  16. How about unlocking auras at character creation?
Not directly useful, but amusing fluff. At this point i'm fine with nothing but the occasional respec, costume and character slot token, but that's just me.

Nowhere can you slot To-Hit buff enhancement into a power to increase the power's to-hit chance.
Well that's because tohit is a character attribute, not a power attribute.

    Reading comprehension fail.

The tohit buff enhancements enhance the tohit buff of the power they're slotted in, not the character's tohit itself. Really, that's a silly question to ask in response to to a post that answers the question you're asking.
