  1. i'm glad you're okay. Personally i always have a few folding tools in my pocket with screwdriver tips and blades, so i'm never precisely unarmed. That said, i haven't had to fight my way out of an encounter in a very long time, and i am impressed that you did. Even nearly blind there are a few nice, soft, sensitive spots on the human anatomy that are easy to hit and that untrained combatants generally don't have the reflexes to protect.

What was the saying? "It only takes four pounds of pressure to rupture the human skull. From the inside."

It's like Sigmund Freud said: "Sometimes gibberish is just gibberish." He also said you want to sleep with your mother.

Team Teleport is a tactical maneuvering power. You can move your whole team to a single spot, all at the same time. This has advantages such as aggro dispersal (if everyone is on top of the enemies, the "alpha strike" is spread between everyone, instead of concentrated on one person), and getting everyone into melee range quickly, either for melee characters, or characters running PBAoE toggles (such as the FRad superteam; 8 people running Choking Cloud and Hotfeet teleporting on top of a spawn is extremely efficient)
Yeah, i think i said as much previously. Mentioning it not being a useful travel power was more of a secondary comment/aside. i'd already stated that it was mostly good for edge cases, not the average team. Yes, if your team is built around leveraging things like everyone having PBAoE's or being melee it's great as an opener/surprise assault maneuver, but those are rather uncommon team compositions in my experience.

i still would like to see a version of Fold Space added as an alternate 3rd tier power.

*sigh* It didn't read as 'bullying' to me, but then i suppose i didn't feel like i was being targeted, either. Rereading it it still seems more like a suggestion than a demand or threat, and really you need at least one of the two for it to be bullying in my opinion.

When people with differing views on various subjects advocate their viewpoint i rarely feel threatened or bullied, even if i strongly disagree. Maybe i'm just not sensitive enough to appreciate the threat to my views presented by the presence of opposing viewpoints and opinions. Especially the ones phrased more as suggestions than demands, they just slip under my threat detection triggers, though i will consider the position even if i remain opposed or disinterested. *shrug*

Mind you, there are a few things i do get worked up about, but that doesn't mean i get all ragey and threatened just because someone states an opposed position.

Outdated doesn't necessarily mean wrong, in my point of view.
But it can be very misleading, and imply restrictions or options that aren't actually present if you don't know better. Which is an issue with a number of the tips that aren't technically wrong, just inaccurate or incomplete.

And that's one of the few edge cases where team teleport is useful. Group Fly has far more applications and it's still rarely wanted due to the disadvantages it has.

Masterminds and melee team ambush strikes aside, there are very few place where the power is useful. Especially as an actual travel power used for going any distance. Used in conjunction with Group Fly it almost works as a travel power, but the endurance cost is huge, and Group Fly alone would usually be faster if teamed. That's why i describe it as being useful in a few edge cases. In general play it's just not very useful.

Well, yes. And for years i'd suggested replacing Team Teleport with Fold Space. Then we got Assemble the Team as a vet reward, and, cottage rule or no, i realized Fold Space was unlikely to ever replace Team Teleport.
A ray of hope(?): Now that we've had fifth powers added to PPP/APP's there's always the possibility that a version of Fold Space could be added as an alternate third tier teleport power. Hey, i can dream, right?

    What??
Maybe they were looking at the disreputable, disavowed, scammer-haven POS wikia site, not the player-supported and updated Paragon wiki.

How about that Team Teleport power in the Teleportation pool?

Concept aside, there's only a few edge cases where it's actually useful. This is more a limitation of the game engine than the concept of the power being all that bad IMO, but still i can't recall the last time i saw someone who took it and used it.

Not that i'd expect to compete since it's been quite a while since i did much more than bounce around a PvP zone being a moving target.
i suppose what i will do sometime soon is try doing a bit more PvP. One difficulty is that very few of the people i frequently see in game care for PvP.

Depends on what you mean by effort. SF/TF merit rewards are determined solely by average completion time. The TF's that reward lots and lots of merits also take several hours to complete. The major advantage TF's have is that there are more to choose from, and they generally take longer to finish than SF's, so you have more TF's you can theoretically do in a day, and each gives more rewards. Although the longer time required makes having more TF's to do somewhat irrelevant, except that you have a wider variety to choose from when deciding to do a TF. However, unless you have an unusual definition of the word 'effort', TF's and SF's generally require the same amount of effort for the reward.

You can do 2 SF's in 3 hours and get approximately the same rewards as doing 1 TF in 3 hours. Now if you're doing both with PuGs, then i can see the SF's as requiring more effort since you have to form a team twice. If you set up a team for doing the 2 SF's back to back in advance, then it's about the same amount of effort.

Personally, i prefer running SF's on weekdays since i have less time to play during the week. On weekends i can usually set aside at least half a day to play when i do play, so some TF's are more appealing then.

Still waiting on a formal announcement of the start date. Anyone know offhand when the last couple of winter events started?

i suppose you could run a 'no set bonuses' event, but that's far from being an SO-only event.

Being able to move around the different frames is nice but it would be really nice if there was a way of locking them in place. By locking, I mean disabling the ability to accidentally drag them out place.

    Thats it
The 'Suggestions and Ideas' section of the forums is a good place to make suggestions. (Stroke Victim Smiley agrees with me.)

Luckily i'm always in SG mode. Honestly, i see no reason to ever leave SG mode. The slightly increased inf gain at higher levels is inconsequential compared to what i can make in 2 miutes by dumping unneeded salvage on the market.

Also, second that it is indeed a mystery gift when you don't know exactly what you'll get... 'This box contains one of six items randomly selected. So it's either a gold watch, a candy cane, a piece of lint, a new car, a sippy cup or a rabid weasel. No mystery at all, i'll bet my entire life savings that i know exactly which item it is! *opens box* ... Damn you, sippy cup!'

Okay, maybe there's a little mystery in the box.
  21. None of the ranged attacks available to Banes can critical. All primary powerset melee attacks can, assuming you mean the player version.

The wiki article on Banes gives more info.
  22. My first 50 was Anax Necross, a Dark/Regen Scrapper who was inspired by a Champion pnp character who never actually got played until i made a modified version in CoH. Katana/DA would've been closer to the original character design, but at the time Dark Armor was painful to play for any length of time due to the agonizing sounds and endurance costs.

Since then i've reached 50 many times, but a few are especially notable for holding my attention during the climb to 50 and/or afterwards.

Thunder Locust, DM/Elec Brute, was my first villain to reach 50 and still gets played.

Navigator FoTa, Grav/Storm Controller, was created with a very detailed concept, and held my attention as a main for the longest so far. Created around the time inventions came out, she was also the first one to make extensive use of sets.

Dr. Malthusian, Dark/Ice Defender, was my first billionaire+ alt, and is still fun to play.

Erin Tenebrae (AoE Night Widow build) and Khybernetika (aerial assault Crab Spider) were my first VEATs.

Most of my 50's get played much less within a few months of hitting 50, but a few still get played fairly often over a year later.

This seems the most workable to me.
No giing required, and i've seen an increasing number of authors releasing books in a print on demand format. Sometimes with a free pdf version on their own site.

i'm like this with a few names. All the versions on different servers tend to have a unifying theme, or even very similar costumes, but none duplicate the others exactly. They're more like alternate takes on the same basic character concept.
