I too would like to apply for this
DEAR CHAMPION, DEAR CHAMPION, II Protectors of Neverland
"8 years Guys....What a Ride"
224 LvL 50's
I would like to host an SO enhancement only PvP contest. Not sure when exactly but I am all for co-hosting it with PvPEC.
For the cross server events NCSOFT usually gives us prizes. For our own individual server events it comes out of our own pockets and occassionally you can get NCSOFT to donate a costume code or gold title.

An SO-only event would have to be run on the honor system since Frankenslotting and HO use is impossible to easily detect without statistical analysis.

i suppose you could run a 'no set bonuses' event, but that's far from being an SO-only event.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
Hos dont have a really big percentage higher then So's u actualy get better percentage from basic IOs then HOs

the values enhanced by generic IOs are a little higher then HOs or SOs
a schedule A IO for example: a lvl 50 dmg generic is 42% where as an nuc acc/dam is only 33.3%
With good slotting however an HOed build is still better then just a generic IOed build.

An HO'd build is also better than a typical Frankenslotting build as well, depending on what you are trying to do with it.

For example a Gladiator's Javelin ( and every other one) Acc/ Dam is 26.5/26.5, where a Nucleous is 33.3/33.3. That is a pretty significant difference in values.
I think actually the best builds are ones that have a little bit of everything. Set's, HO's, IO's and some frankenslotting.
Actually how many powers do you only need to enhance one thing that single IO values would be better? Hasten? A few other powers.
Most powers require more than one thing to be enhanced. Acc/dam, Acc/Mez, Travel/end reduct etc.
So yeah I still say lolwut to basic Io's typically being better than Ho's. Only in a few powers would that be true.
That's true. I suppose the event would need to be a no set bonus tourney.

A tourney would be interesting.

Not that i'd expect to compete since it's been quite a while since i did much more than bounce around a PvP zone being a moving target.
i suppose what i will do sometime soon is try doing a bit more PvP. One difficulty is that very few of the people i frequently see in game care for PvP.

Well I think with SOs it would be much more balanced and the usual hardcore PvPers wouldn't have as much of an advantage. Which is why people like you are going to show up.....right?

Heh, I am not saying they won't have a big advantage, just not as big an advantage as usual.
i agree with this ^

The P.v.P.E.C. is a collection of players from multiple servers that are dedicated to enhancing the City of Heroes/Villains experience by helping plan, support, and run pvp events. Our shared goal is to complement our existing community projects through events such as zone pvp, kickballs, tournaments and various arena competitions.
Recently the P.v.P.E.C. has been taken over by new leadership. Sadly our last leader had to move on to bigger and better things in real life. Now myself and PerilX along with our very dedicated crew are looking to rebuild and expand the P.v.P.E.C. In order to expand and bring even more quality pvp events across all 11 servers we need more volunteers willing to help plan and run various pvp events.
No event planning experience is necessary. No pvp experience is necessary. All that is needed is a willingness to help and to learn about pvp events and the pvp community in general. We are a very relaxed and fun committee and hope that we can continue to bring quality pvp events to the City of Heroes/Villains Community for a long time to come.
If you are interested in joining our team please send me a p.m. here on the blue boards including what you would be able to do in order to help our committee and the server you would like to represent.
Thank you!
