Quote:Ow. My head hurts for all the wrong reasons. Reading is not harmless. Words in certain patterns can hurt you. Or maybe it was the desk impact. Moving on.I didn't like to say that TA needed tweaks without extolling it's good points. At the very start of this thread I said that the set needed some tweaking. Then I extol some of its good points and people raise an issue... I disagree with reports that are totally negative without any positives where reasonable because it paints a biased picture to outsiders. Upon extolling its good points I get problems. I think the dead horse has been dragged far enough.
My saying that I sometimes wish I would rather be on a TA is down to the team probably performing better with a TA. That's not irrelevent that's extolling TA amongst the negativity of all the over fixes. Over fixes are over the top fixes suggested. -

Subjective feedback: With Female Monstrous legs the Growl emote twists the left leg into a a rather distorted shape. Somewhere between broken and horribly deformed. Didn't have time to see if Male and Huge Monstrous legs did the same before i logged off.

Quote:Sorry i missed it, but i haven't been reading the server forums much lately, and i missed the in-game announcements. (Haven't been on Champion all that much, and have nearly stopped reading BMT.)Thanks again, everyone who came out. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves.
This year, our bankroll proved too great. We actually weren't able to drain our funds completely.
Next Sunday, we'll be doing a TF race, more info to come this week.
Next year maybe. -

Quote:There was RMT spam before Issue 9. There was RMT spam before Issue 4. i don't recall seeing it offhand, but i'd bet there was RMT spam since before Issue 1. That said, it was generally uncommon, but i'd seen it at least as far back as Issue 4.(Or get rid of the Invention System; there was no spam before Issue 9. But that's another interesting discussion for another day.)
Personally i support the suggestion of limiting trial accounts to posting in a few sections of the forums, but otherwise feel there's not much that can be done to eliminate spammers. Honestly, i think that the posting of RMT spam here is a sign of desperation. Not only are the readers of the official forums a minority of players, but we are the portion of the player population least likely to need or want the services of these companies, and the most likely to be aware of the dangers of using them. -
Quote:Completely agree.Your Facebook shows a six-second teaser for GOING ROGUE. In just a couple of hours, there were over 50 comments of players clamouring for more. (And come on, guys - six seconds? WTH? Teaser length could be 30 seconds without giving too much away, while still giving enough flavour and hints to have players going "GIMMEGIMMEGIMME!")
Quote:3) More vids in general - way back when, there were at least a couple of videos per issue (ESPECIALLY when COV came out). They don't take that long, especially if it's just the "run in and film stuff" variant.
4) Film the M&Gs, and get them up on YT ASAP. There is absolutely NO excuse for it taking FOUR MONTHS to get a 1-minute video up about HeroCon 2009. NONE. Get SOMEONE with a videocamera to stand in the back, film the M&G and the panel, upload it to someplace where Marketing can watch it and security-vet it, then get that thing on YouTube as quickly as possible. That would go a LONG way for showing players that can't make it that you still want them to feel 'involved'.
4) Absolutely agreed. i'm a fairly regular attendee at the Tilde Cafe which is a free event hosted at various locations in CT and every cafe event has a camera there to record the talk and post it to youtube within a few days. It should be possible for Paragon Studios/NCsoft to do that with every meet & greet or other public events. Even if you can't spare an intern or helper monkey to record the event, i'm sure that there are fans of the game who would volunteer to show up early and set up a camera and microphone(s) to record it for you.
Quote:Drinking, eating, using it to clean the sink; all not happening with anything called Sprunk.
Sounds like someone got some Sprunk in their eye.Quote:Hire a good artist, writer, colorist, and letter. Get Image on bored. You got yourself a comic. The whole venture costs maybe 2.5 to 5 grand and as long as you sell more than 3000 copies, which is a definite with CoH (and not to mention customary that distributors buy 10k of the first issue), you make profit on every issue even if it sell bad and you break even after 2-4 issues if the entire thing is a flop.
Comics are only difficult to manage when you don't have money and/or a company to back you. You have both. -
Quote:There's an awful lot of sets that do both. Almost all of them, in fact. So Defenders would get Empathy and Force Fields and Corruptors get all the other sets? Or would it be that any set with 5 or more debuffing powers goes to Corruptors and all others go to Defenders? Then Trick Arrow would be Corruptor beyond a doubt. Also for Corruptors would be Radiation Emission, Sonic Resonance, Kinetics, Storm Summoning and Dark Miasma. Cold and Thermal? 5+ debuffing powers in each set, so also Corruptor. Traps? Corruptor. Pain Domination? Defender i think. No, wait, 5+ powers can debuff enemies IIRC. Corruptor.Very interesting thought Miladys
Buffing sets = Defenders
DeBuffing sets = Corruptors
Too late for this though
i guess Defenders would be limited to Empathy and Force Fields. That would definitely change my ratio for those ATs from about 70% Defender and 30% Corruptor to 5% Defender and 95% Corruptor.
Edit: i was actually thinking that Corruptors would get debuff, damage and crowd control power dominated sets. So things like holds and attacks would count for the Corruptor side. Which actually means Corruptors would get Force Fields as well. So Defenders would get... Empathy. -
Quote:Too Awesome To Use been a problem on many of my alts. It's why i almost never use Amy's Ward, the Loa Bone, etc.Ahh, that's right. It's always bugged me that once you used up those charges you could never get it again. Kind of makes it Too Awesome To Use.

Quote:And the Hollows enemy spawns had Star Trek transporters as well. i remember when my first WS paused to rest on a rooftop and a dozen +3 Outcasts suddenly appeared around him.Ah yeah, none of that fancy jetpack/jump pack stuff back our day! Just an excercise in Parkour!

All I wanted was a pair of pants. Just a pair of pants. Was that too much to ask for?!

Actually, the market history was wiped when i17 went live, so all price histories are only transactions since then. -
i really forgot about that as well. Ragdoll physics was incredible when it went live. And, unlike another super MMO, it worked on the first try. Ragdoll is still hilarious to this day.

And another pun is left to die unnoticed as the mists of gloom and doom cover all in a shroud of doomed gloomy shroudiness. And mist. And gloom.
i suppose the severe doom and gloom is infrequent enough to be mostly overlooked. If only it was ignored completely. -
Doors that open in missions.
Autoexemping for TFs. Since eclipsed by the SSK system. (It used to be that anyone who had out-leveled a task force had to exemplar into the TF level range and would be kicked from the TF the second they unexemped. If either of the exemplared pair lost connection the exemplar would be ended. *boot*)
Instanced outdoor missions.
The graphical upgrade that accompanied City of Villains. (Since eclipsed by Ultra Mode, but it was still a nice improvement at the time.) -
Quote:No need for flames. Malta in general tend to be a bit OP'ed compared to most enemy groups, and i can understand why many players avoid them, especially when playing squishy archetypes. They can be pretty frustrating. While I realize I'm inviting being flamed, I think sappers are still OP'd. I try hard to avoid any Malta mission strictly because of the existance of this mob.
That's not to say that i feel the same as you do about Sappers. i take missions against Malta, Arachnos, Carnies and Thorns preferentially because i find them more appealing, and i don't really consider Sappers overpowered at all, but that's a matter of personal taste. i find Freakshow and Council among my least favorite groups to fight. Meat Doctors make Freakshow very slightly more interesting when present, but overall both groups tend to bore me. -
*wanders in and plummets to the ceiling*
Ack! Having a bit of issue keeping my frame of reference aligned.
*starts jumping down and up trying to touch the floor from the ceiling then pauses to look around*
Back for my semi-random visitation. Hey there Vivace. Sorry to hear about the bad vibes. Glad to see you're looking happier. i just drop in the Rookery at random to say hi and borrow random snacks, but it's not my fault that no one locks the doors, windows and ventilation ducks.
*a mallard duck sits down on a rafter and opens its bill releasing a cool breeze*
The ducks ruffle my plumage a bit, but the breeze is refreshing.
*sits down (up?) and ponders the gravity of the situation* -
Quote:Well, a "Are you really sure you want to delete this character?" dialogue box did pop up when you clicked the delete button, so it's not like it instantly wiped them. Not much consolation if you weren't paying close attention of course.Never saw that list before. A few of the things that surprised me:
...You didn't used to have to type the character's name to delete the character? Yikes!
Quote:I guess what I want is a craftable costume piece like Rocket Boots then - something that animates when you fly.
Quote:See, I can understand players not choosing ice for that reason, or else asking for it to be changed, but I'm not sure why they would demand it be removed. Unless they assumed doing so would cause something else to be added in its place?Quote:Energy Aura was added in its place when Ice was taken away.
Quote:That's because the 'Raptor pack' IS a Skyraider pack.
(Yes, it is a let down)Still waiting for costume piece backpacks and jet packs.

Quote:Listen to the Lilly and welcome to the game.Howdy, howdy, hey, hey! Welcome to the game!
I've been with the game for over five years now, and I still love it. I take things a bit slower then I used to, but really, I'm just pacing myself to get pumped for Going Rogue. When I first joined, Infinity was my server. Became my home. Loved it. -

Quote:What might draw more people in would be a standalone hero designer. A free program that could be downloaded and run independently from the net. Give people a chance to get interested in one of the under advertised aspects of the game. Our extensive costume options. Those that use the system would further advertise the game by showing of there heroes. Though it would need to include a way to take a screen shot of there heroes.Quote:This needs to be a free iPhone App with a file you can upload to the "Saved Costume" folder on your computer. It needs to have existed years ago.
Quote:I guess that works out better for a rated T for Teen game than Pubic Rockets.
Still, without Pubic Rockets you can't do a proper homage to the old Doom Patrol villain, Codpiece.
Black Pebble: It's good to hear back from you. i don't really have any questions relevant to your bailiwick that haven't already been asked in this thread, so i look forward to further revelations from you. And i like the idea of a standalone costume creator with costume file exporting for the Android platform. -
Quote:In my opinion you have just redeemed the thread.I'm in the mood to post goofy pictures.
And I previewed my post.
OP: You can still edit your first post in this thread to use the correct format for displaying the build, though i am puzzled as to why you didn't post it in the VEAT section in the first place, and even if it was posted there i would ask if there was some reason that you wanted to post that build in particular. Usually when someone posts a build they state what it is about the build they want to show off or ask for advice.
