New info so thanks. I'm fairly confident it wasn't that issue. I know one person at least on the team claims to have stood beside Rommy in open space and claims not to have felt anything. I'm not claiming veracity but perhaps it's flaky or perhaps not.
  2. that's never happened to me - nor anyone I know but you may be correct.

Another very interesting bug is I couldn't combine the 6th slot in my Enhancements - all others were open but the 6th was kinda not there.
  3. ok I've been crashing twice nightly since I19.5.

Since the sneak preview, I'm crashing twice in every TF.

That's the worst problem. But there are a whole raft of bugs, and clunky bits. Fighting Rommy last night and getting zapped by his stun even behind a wall

I'm loving the new content, but it's truly clunky which gives me a sad
  4. I don't understand your philosophy of deleting and restarting. That's something of an anathema to me, but I'm very glad you're still having fun
  5. I cannot play a Praetorian who believes in the cause. I get to 20 and I'm written off by either - or both - factions. I have done the job they asked me to do and often with flying colours. So they cast me aside.

The closest I can come to is some kind of "sleeper" agent. I'm back in Primal earth waiting for the call from my "handler" to wake me and have me subvert the cause of the interlopers.

I actually am not able to do anything proactive - but then, when have I been?
  6. Trick Arrow's Oil Slick and Acid Arrow may give you a bit more damage and some nice granular control too.
  7. Here's my few suggestions:

I've never got a decent high level toon on Union - I have like 9 slots just sitting there pining for some interesting characters to fill them.
I've never run a successful Hami raid since the revamp back in I11(? I think around then but the memory's not what it... what? Who are you again?)
I've never played a tank or scrapper to 50. I'd like to get both - I've a good concept for a tank too (at least on paper it seems good
    I've never played a PeaceBringer past 20
I've never involved myself in the Union community very much

All of those above are worthy goals I reckon
  8. Crazy cossie comps in Atlas: I remember once when I was a real newbie, I got invited to a cossie comp and won. My prize? Super jump for 1 minute courtesy of the Kinetic defender who ran the comp. I was so gutted when I zoned to Perez Park to discover it didn't work any more
  9. I like the Incarnate system, but the interface is HORRID HORRID HORRID!!!!!!

How can such an important part of the end game get so little attention? It's like a variant on the normal Enhancement slotting (which works well) but it's as though it's been deliberately borked to look awful and act very clunky.
  10. Kahn and Barracuda are my favourite TF/SFs in game. Loads of fun and easy to do.

Some prior warning of forthcoming events would be very helpful. It seemed a bit shambolic the other night announcing a Sister Psyche TF race half an hour before the event. Did you even get two teams together?

If I have missed this information can someone point me in the right direction?

We're looking at this currently. We've a couple of options we're checking out but hope to have an answer soon.

    with laserbeam eyes!

I'm very much in favour of more communication but I do have one area of concern in that there are more ways than everyone can keep up with and they change so quickly that it's hard to know if we're getting all of it.

Whilst we have the Announcements section of the fora and the Digest of all Dev/CC posts there's no single place where we can go for the whole story. Twitter, Facebook and the wider blogosphere attract posts but we don't always get them unless subscribed to everything. That's actually a testament to the amound of into we get in the wider world which is a vast improvement on even 18 months back so we'll celebrate that and simply add a note of caution

One other question is OSA: does elec set it off? If electric doesn't am I forced to choose fire? I'd understood there are a few powers that work to ignite OSA but reading a TA guide I was surprised to see only fire being the effective ignition source but that guide's quite old now.

    Soloing the STF!

Great idea - I've enjoyed this thread. Good luck with the challenge!

Especially when you add in Patrol XP. I'm wondering if this should be disabled for Praetoria by default.

Taking out patrol XP would probably fix it well and solve the problem.
  16. One of my best memories is when Scarlet dinged 50, there were about 5 teams in the mission following us around. That was a rush.

The Shock Tactics base party back when I was djing with Evo and almost the entire server was in our base.

Some of the great RP we did back in the day (I know, on Defiant too right?) and that even won me 2 months game time with the fan fic I wrote.

I'm not sure what you mean by "when it supresses?" but as far as Roots, I'm not too worried about damage. I am quite happy to get them locked down and all the other powers will chip away at them. Most minions won't last long even without damage slots and Lts and Bosses won't be going anywhere so I can pick them apart. I've got both Nemesis Staff, Blackwand and Ghost Slaying Axe, so they can all come into play. Besides, once immobbed then they get to be confused and kill each other.

As to the PPPs being connected to the Patron , kind of went out the window when the started being able to grant each other's powers.

If the Devs had considered giving them green blasts they could have, and there's nothing I've ever seen in the lore to suggest there are any other colour variants than those existing in game.

There's no right or wrong answer to this, it's a science-fantasy game so there are arguments both for and against. None of which can be definitively proven correct. I stated my opinion and some possible explanations, and you have yours but neither is wrong, they are simply different.

The difference is that I'm far less bothered by getting those powers customised than most

  21. I'm one of the few that aren't so bothered.

Khelds, well that's just the way they are. That bluey-whiteness you like really gets your washin... oh wait and the dark purple too... that's what distinguishes them and that's what they do.

With the PPP the powers are "lent" to you by your Patron. They are that colour because they are that colour. That's what you got, now live with it... and if you want to go tell Ghost Widow you don't like her as a patron because her soul extraction isn't a luminous yellowypink then good luck to you

Yes, Hasten does look HORRIBLE but nobody has to take it. It's in no way mandatory.

I'm surely in a minority but power customisation is far less significant to me than new content.
  22. Cut scenes add to the story.

You may have seen them but just remember that your new team mate may never have seen it before and now learns a lot more about the lore of this game.

Have a little patience, your rant is trivial.

    MOAR Cutscenes plx!!!!
  23. I think Techbot has it about right.

We get given extra content early and the Devs get slated for "padding"?

There's a great up-side to this that I've not seen mentioned in this thread: Many of the TFs that don't get run will now be reinvigorated (for a week, at least.) It makes a refreshing change from ITF after ITF and actually works to get people to play more of the content more frequently than sometimes otherwise happens.
  24. I've not seen any other complaints about this, but I've noticed that alongside the well documented automated random logout random feature, there is a large tendency for these fora to grind to a halt unexpectedly.

Pages don't update, forms don't post, and often I try and access it and get a "Page not found" error from my ISP (Virgin).

What is peculiar about this that I experience this problem on both my regularly used machines - one Fedora one XP, and other sites are unaffected so it does seem unique to these fora. I also experience it regardless of browser, Opera, Chrome, Firefox 3.6 and Firefox 4.

    Is anyone experiencing similar issues?
