I'd reccommend Spines/Invulnerability. It does well with large groups.

I remember Castle mentioning that if he were to look at Spines it wouldn't be because it would needed to be buffed. He mentioned specifically the stacking slows, the random immobilize and one more thing but I cannot remember the third issue he had. I like spines the way it is, please don't bring any attention to it.

It is very possible to solo arch villains on a fire/regeneration. I've done it on mine, I haven't been able to kill all of the Praetorians, namely Shadow Hunter, Maurader, and Diablox or however you spell her name. But the others I haven't had any problem with, the easiest so far has been Nightstar.
You'll need a build that focuses on defense and high recharge. -

You'll have an awesome build for around 500 million. I'd safely assume you could have around 60% global recharge from bonuses with soft capped defense to all positions.

I went the Talisorian Shield for my character and it looks awesome. I love that shield. -
With a team like that I'd focus on high single target damage and good surviability for hard targets like Heroes or Monsters. Energy Melee has one of the highest if not the highest single target dps as well as huge burst damage coming from Energy Transfer and Total Focus.
Secondary I'd say either SR, Shields, WP, or Invul will do well.
Me I'd make an Energy/Shield and call it a day. -
Best is relative to what you want out of it. Considering all scrapper primaries do good damage you can't go wrong with anyone of them.
I made a Dark/Shield and he is wonderful, just recently updated him with Fire Ball and he want from ludacrisly over powered to plaid. -

You really don't want to skip true grit, it offers a nice +hp and it offers some resistances and a place to put stead fast protection: resistance/defense which will increase your defense and minor amounts of resistance.

Well depending on how much you want to spend I have a few varying in prices builds.
Here is the build that I am going to make once I16 hits. It isn't purely PvP but it has some PvP flavor to and I fair pretty well. -
Okay check out the slotting in Dark Regeneration in this build, I'd strongly advise trying to get it, it maximizes it's recharge and minimizes it's endurance cost, it might not be the absolute best slotting for it but it's really good.

It's a swiss-army knife power. It's not just a heal. It's a heal with a HoT component and an endurance assistance component. It shouldn't recharge as fast as the other powers simply because it does more. It "heals", at the very minimum, 50% more than either Healing Flames or Reconstruction (thanks to the +regen component) and provides a much more significant secondary benefit (because we all know how wonderful that toxic resistance is, right?). The very fact that it does so much means that it's going to recharge slower.

Well it depends on what you're farming, if you're going to be solo farming demons set on 6 man +2 level difficulty then this would suffice but if you're going for 8 man +4 level difficulty you're going to need some help.

Katana offers good dps in single target as well as good AoE damage. It also is relatively easier on endurance then other primaries. It also provides a great melee defense buff.
Dark offers resistance and the ability to gain defense from Katana which works well with each other. It has the best heal in the game, Dark Regeneration, which for your purposes will work great being that when surrounded by a group will fill your health bar completely. It also offers great mitigation tools in Oppressive Gloom and Cloak of Fear, and offers a nice damage aura. I slotted Absolute Amazement: Chance for To-hit debuff in OP and I find that it helps out.
