    Lesson learned!

Ouch. Glad I've been super-paranoid with my inf storage and gone and reset all the bids downwards about three times since news of converters got out.

Don't worry about it. It happens far more often than you'd think.
    I can't argue with that.
  9. I know I didn't cause the trial to fail. I just feel bad about screwing up and making things harder.
  10. I know I said something in league chat but I probably missed a few people so here goes:

I was the guy who ran off and picked up Manti instead of Posi on DD last night. I completely missed Posi and thought I was at him when I started on Manti's guards. Then I promptly scrapperlocked and pounded away, being no help to anybody and a hindrance to most. It was a dumb, stupid rookie mistake. I ought to have known better.

I'm sorry for the aggravation, frustration, and confusion I caused.
  11. I'll give some thought to the PBAOE attach chain. I like Lotus Drops well enough.

I hadn't though to put the Gaussian's in tactics because I didn't think to use Leadership at all and I have bad memories of tactics in particular drawing my blue down like there was no tomorrow. But that was years ago before IOs. So I'll mull that one over too.
  12. Lots to think about here. Thanks.

I really ought to have realized that the purples are better in the faster recharging power. Enh obviously give their benefit more often in attacks that come up more often.

Stealth was purely a filler. I ran out of ideas for stuff to take because I wasn't thinking of grabbing assault. I'll give that serious consideration.

Isn't underslotting Dodge going to reduce my defense debuff resistance?
  13. I've decided to rebuild an old favorite. His old build only really gives him the soft cap and pretty good recovery. I know he can be more and cost is not a concern.

    I've come up with this:

I haven't done many builds at all and those only focused on soft capping characters, so I'm sure I've missed all kinds of obvious things. The main interests are recharge, recovery, and single target damage but any improvement is welcome.

    Storing Inf?

    Quote:
You can always bid on things that do not actually exist, but are still in the game system. Level 53 Invention set IO's work well for this purpose. I've currently got about 50 billion inf stored on numerous 2 billion inf bids on level 53 Luck of the Gambler 7.5's, which of course will never fill. You could bid on the the recipes or IO, whichever you prefer with no risk of ever losing your money.
Yeah but I like the gambling aspect. It's all funny money, after all. My bids are all on an item that rarely sells on the market due very high demand and very low supply, so the chance that it will suddenly drop to one-quarter its current on-market price in so short a period that I don't see it coming is pretty small. If that does happen, I'll have a bunch of IOs that I can actually use on at least five or six current or planned characters.

    Storing Inf?

As of Friday, I've got almost 23 billion inf stored across 12 characters. Most of that is sitting in the ordinary inventories, but when one of them gets close to the inf cap (and it is a cap, the game will not store more inf than it on a character and just not display the full value) I email a billion or so off to one of my designated money silos. You can wait until you have a full two billion to do this, but then you have to be sure the character receiving has exactly zero inf which I find too much bother to handle.

The one I use for most of that work is holding almost seven billion right now. Aside the 700 mil in his inventory, the rest is stored in WW bids. I pick an extremely costly item which is ideally also in short supply. I then place a stack of very lowball bids for the item, usually at half to one quarter of the rather stable going rate. Then it sits there quietly until I want it again. There is a minor risk that someone will actually post the item for what I'm bidding, but higher bids should win out over mine and if I get lucky through some freak circumstance I'll end up with a high-value IO that I can always flip for the going rate or use myself. It is, however, vulnerable to game changes that could significantly increase supply of the stuff I bid on. (Increase in drop rate and additional and easier ways to get the item are the major perils.) To keep ahead of that I've gone back and changed most of my storage bids from one bid of X to two bids of one half X.

My method is not the most efficient use of market slots, but with all my paragon rewards I have lots of slots to spare. You can eliminate the risk of losing the inf to a successful bid by bidding on level 53 recipes or IOs, which simply do not exist to be sold. Of course you also lose that very remote chance of scoring an ultra-cheap high-value item.

You can also store your inf in the email system, but it's been known to go down and take everything with it so then you'd have to see if support could restore your lost billions. Also you'd have to refresh each mail every 60 days. This is way too much hassle for me.
  16. As of earlier today I have 21 billion and change in liquid inf and probably another 50 million or so in stuff for sale, but I'm a bit player on the market scene. I'd have a billion more, but I gave it to a friend. My rather unambitious marketing brings in a little over a billion a week on average, more if I get lucky at the ticket claim guy or really get in the groove and do some extra farming runs. But a usual day is 9000 tickets turned into 200-300 million in sales overnight and I usually skip farming on weekends.

This week my output's in the toilet because of computer issues and Thursday's server outage. I had enough time to go and do what I needed to do to make my usual bank, but that time would have had to come out of my regular playing time and I didn't want to give it up, though I have in the past when I felt more like farming than running trials.

I am willing of course to take counter-offers and negotiate, as I realize I might be setting my offers too low, having never tried to buy into the purple market before.
Thank you all for your time and hopefully business.
I know little to nothing about the purple market. I rarely buy them and hoard my drops. But I sell LotG Def/Ends and Defs on the market about once or twice a week depending on how the RNG treats me. Prior to double XP they were going for about 50 million and 55 million overnight, respectively. (Mine were, anyway. But I tend to price in round numbers and could probably get a few million more if I didn't.) I imagine buy it now on both is closer to 60 each.

They're common enough that if you're willing to wait a few days you can probably get one for 10-20% less than that from a farmer who wants to turn the slot over fast. My own pricing habits vary a lot, but I've been playing conservative and mostly pricing on pre-double XP levels to take what windfalls come but avoid being left holding the bag when the demand surge subsides. I have enough market slots stuck full of overpriced crap without making it worse.

    AE Reward Rolls

I've read the same thing on this board before, but I had a spare 9k tickets tonight and so rolled silver 35-39 instead. Not having 150 or so recipes to sort through was nice. Blowing the lot, minus a remainder, just about filled my recipe inventory once so I flew straight over the the Cap BM to check the last 5 for each. It transpired everything I rolled was moving for above my minimum threshold to list (4M) except I think one recipe. So I threw that one away and crafted and posted the rest. I got a pair of Kinetic Combat Dam/Ends, a LotG Defense, and an Obliteration triple for big ticket stuff, plus about seven other IOs I expect to move for about 10M or less. Total expected sales of 261,000,000 for 8,880 tickets, with prices generally on the low end of or a bit below the bottom of the last 5. The LotG I know I can get with bronze too, though.

It's only one set of rolls, but that's fairly close to or better than what I've been doing on bronze rolls the past month. A lot of value hangs on those big paydays, though. Given the smaller number of rolls per ticket pile, I imagine silver will end up with bigger swings in average payout than bronze does.

    AE Reward Rolls

    I've rolled bronze 10-14, 20-24, 25-29, and 35-39.

My impression was that 10-14 had decent returns but was very crowded, to the point where the overnight sales on several of the better things in the pool (the knockback protections especially) were not enough to be worth posting them. It seems a great many people roll there. For a change of pace I level-locked a toon at 10 to roll on the pool for minimum level shinies. The prices are very attractive, but it seems demand is not very high and so things take a while to move. I'd rather use the market slot to move more smaller paydays than one big payday that might take four or five times as long to come in.

Bronze 35-39 seemed similarly crowded, but I only rolled it two or three times. (Counting rolls as earning 9k or 9,999 tickets, depending how I felt at the time, and then rolling them all at once.) Higher crafting costs plus a lot of competition made it seem not worth the effort, but I suppose had I spent a few more days learning the pool and what sells well I might have worked around that.

Bronze in the 20s is where I spend all my tickets at present. I've experimented with gold rolls, but it's not very satisfying for me to spend ~15 minutes climbing to the ticket cap and then blowing the lot on three rolls when all three could be crap. I did get very lucky by mistake once and rolled a kinetic combat triple (100 million instant sale) on gold when I meant to be clicking bronze, though.

Look's great. I've been farming the arc for most of a month and it never occurred to me to use the Crafter's Cafe to do the hand grenade crafting.
  22. Just like it says, I have one of these shiny IOs all crafted and ready to sell. My asking price is 2.5 billion and you may contact me via this thread or in-game at @Umbral Hunter.
  23. I've missed Hami. He loves us and wants out kisses.

Also I still have all the macros.
  24. I don't know if it's the best place to roll, but I generally run an AE farm until I get around 9000 tickets (I know the cap is 9999, but I like the round number.) and then go up to the ticket claim guy and roll 10-14 bronze. I get around 150 rolls out of that and anywhere from 5 to 15 recipes I consider worth selling. Unless I can move it for at least four million in a day or so, I just delete and move on unless I know the payday is huge. I roughly base that on how much I expect to pay in salvage, since I dislike farming up a pile of recipes and then waiting a day or two for the salvage to come in and consequently go for buy it now prices. Average earnings (Not profits; it's too fiddly for me to note down every piece of salvage I buy and at what price but I do subtract out the transaction fees.) hover around 180 million per 9000 tickets. One really good run got me about 300 million. Subtracting likely salvage costs probably drains away 10-20 million each time, depending just how impatient I am and what I'm crafting.

But sometimes prices do fall or particular recipes experience a major glut in supply. One of mine has been glutted for the past few days and I've thus got about 10 market slots stuck with it for the time being.
