Quote:Please show me a Scrapper that has never died in this game. Please. I'll wait.Quote:I don't recall which server is their home server but I would guess the Iron Eagles have a scrapper or two in their ranks.
I do have the Unmitigated Gaul to try again, though. (He's another BS/Shield Scrap rising in the ranks at 29.) -
Quote:I've seen several players choose Explosive Blast over Energy Torrent. ET animates faster, recharges quicker, and does (slightly) more damage, although it's shorter range and caps at 10 targets instead of 16. Is it the range that's persuading people to put the proc into Explosive Blast?Explosive Blast on a Time/Nrg defender, for the reason mentioned above, although less useful since all of the other attacks still do KB.
So far the only one I've actually committed to using I put into Shockwave on a Claws/WP Scrapper, and I really like the result. -
Another thing to double-check is to go to \Options, and check under the Keymapping tab to see if your printscreen button has been reassigned to some different function.

Well, for one thing, a villain SG can still have a Pillar of Ice and Flame, through which a member can run a flashback, which will then award Entrusted with the Secret.
But moreover, there are like fifty other ways to get Entrusted with the Secret besides the exploration badge on the Ouroboros spire, most of which do not require the help of other players with the badge. That's how people got it in the first place, after all.
50 Ways To Visit Ouro
The problem is all inside your head she said to me
The answer is easy if you read the damn Wiki
You’ll get to randomize the game’s chronology
There must be fifty ways to visit Ouro.
No need in broadcast or in Wentworth’s to intrude
With great
Temporal power you will somehow be imbued
But I'll repeat myself at the risk of being crude
There must be fifty ways to visit Ouro
Fifty ways to visit Ouro.
Just slip into RV,
See
Just save Mr. States
Mates
Work for Agent G,
See
Or maybe Doc D.
You don't need to be fifty

Ahem
Just get off your ***,
Class,
And run Marshal Brass. -

For those of us who already know why it's desirable to get into Cimerora, can someone describe this shortcut? Can't watch the video from here. Thanks.
-
I explain it as bagged "collector's edition" classic issues of the comic book in which an earlier interpretation of my character is featured.
-
Certainly a key goal of good game design is to offer choices which are roughly equivalent in effectiveness. Rock-Scissors-Scissors sucks as a game, even if "Rock" fans advocate otherwise.

Quote:Can you put more than one on the same character, or are you talking about two different characters?Well I have it in my tornado and bonfire and I love it so much.
Is this true? Are they planning on changing it? Even on Tornado? -
Why? If it's for the knockback-to-knockdown proc, seems to me like I wouldn't want to, for two reasons. Procs are more useful on fast-recharging attacks, which the new nukes won't be, and a lower-damage Nova might leave stuff alive, which you'd prefer to have knocked back and ragdolled, because that puts them out of action a lot longer than knockdown.

When I save chat settings and load them onto another character, none of the chat tabs have a "default" channel selected and I need to go through them and do so manually. Is this Working As Intended? Known Bug? I couldn't find anything in the forum with searches.

Quote:I'm guessing this is what the OP refers to.Um... wait. What?
Okay, forget that. All I want to know is what this silly cow pen instance will be named, and what ridiculous abbreviations will we use while forming up teams? Old MacDonald's Mad Cow Massacre? Where's the Beef? Abattoir of DOOM!!!? -
Well, what about weapon claws that look like fingers, and some transparent overlay replacing the fist (to minimize or remove it)? Just fake the open hand look?
-
Quote:Indeed, that's exactly what happened. It would be fun to say "These cow pens have gone to the Americans!"...

Quote:You may certainly be right. It is IMPOSSIBLE that my password and user name were stolen. IMPOSSIBLE. The user name and password are not shared with any other service (for example, I do not have the same ones anywhere else), my computer is freshly reformatted as of two weeks ago, I have not had a virus in a very long time (so no key logger hack). I reformatted to switch from XP to Win 7.
No one in my house has access to my passwords either, except for me. I write all of my passwords in an address book and keep it locked up until I need it.
I even change my account and game passwords every month (most recently when I reformatted two weeks ago).
This is a bug. Probably the result of the most recent update.
However, in my dozen years or so of online gaming, I've seen numberless claims that "no one else has access to my account" turn out to be not as true as the initial poster believed. "Oh, uh, my brother admitted..." or "...And I've been getting malware popups ever since visiting that hack/cheat site" or "My girlfriend/boyfriend is jealous of my game time" being the big three ultimate causes, typically. Similarly, I've been an administrator on a game site and seen a surprising number of forum accounts compromised and in those cases it's always been a security lapse of some kind -- in one case, a keylogger downloaded from a gardening site, of all things.
Again, I'm not saying you're wrong -- I'm just explaining everyone's skepticism. In threads like this, it's "always" denied that any human agency could have intentionally done it, and it it seems like it "always" turns out to be sabotage, theft, meddling, or the four-year-old.
Your security precautions sound ironclad...except for the one thing. The fact that you take such extreme precautions, including changing your passwords regularly, makes me wonder if you have might reason to worry about the intentions of someone in your house or with access to your machine. A roommate of questionable character, an annoying sibling, what have you.
Just in case it does turn out to be human agency and not a bug, one thing you could do while you wait for an official response is to run the typical diagnostics on your machine (they're descibed in a pinned post somewhere, I forget the exact names) and post them here for the forum's technically-inclined folks to pore over -- sometimes they spot a keylogger or something like that. Might not help, of course, but it's something to do while you wait.
Best of luck, I know I'd be unhappy if it happened to me. -
Also note that the popularity of the Summer Blockbuster event may be drawing people away from DFB temporarily. The two are mechanically similar in that you can queue for them and then go do other stuff until the notice pops up, which might appeal to DFB runners.
-
OK, since I posted I did get into a few (formed the first one in chat, got two more via default queuing). No procs yet, but it's a decent event, so it's been fun.
What happens if you're in a mission when the LFG popup comes up? Do you have to run back to the door really fast, or will accepting the popup port you into the event? -
Don't know how to start it other than queueing - nothing I've seen says anything other then to use LFG.
-
So, to date, I have gotten into zero Summer Blockbuster events, period.
I queue up for it in the LFG queue, it says "avg wait 5 min," and that's that -- nothing else happens.
ONE TIME It said it was starting, and then immediately "failed" without any indication of why.
Are not people running this, or am I doing something wrong? I have been trying on a fairly populated server (Guardian) at different times. -

You can soft-cap Psi defense with Minerals and Weave alone on a Tanker, using only SOs, effectively freeing all your set bonuses for other purposes. So if you don't mind fighting "outside of Granite" and dropping onto Granite when needed, it's very doable. Of course, if you don't want to play that way, ignore this advice.
-
Quote:It's worth noting that, with SOs, a tank can hit the defense soft cap to Psi with Minerals (and pool powers). So moving the other armors up to par with Minerals would let the set hit the defense soft cap to everything (except Toxic, which doesn't have a defense) on SOs alone. Much as I like the set, that seems like too much buff -- it would be better than Super Reflexes if you cut granite out of the set entirely and put nothing at all in its place. That wouldn't be fair to the other sets.Quote:Yes, WITH IO's and pool powerS. One of these is not a factor in game balance, and the other is an opportunity cost.
Minerals (and all the other armors, under the proposed change) base defense: 25% defense
Three Defense Buff Single-Origin Enhancements take that up to the ED cap, (x1.56) = 39% defense
Weave on a Tanker: 5.63% base defense
Three Defense Buff Single-Origin Enhancements take that up to the ED cap, (x1.56) = 8.78% defense
39% +7.78%= 47.78% defense, over the soft cap with NO IOs and only ONE pool power. -
Quote:Like those other games that died. Chess, checkers, poker, Monopoly, Yahtzee, tennis, baseball, cricket, Battleship, D&D...so many great games that only lasted a few years before people flitted off to other interests.Want evidence? Look up -any- game in history. Slowly, games die. I didn't say it would just shut down tomorrow.. but in a few years.. yeah.
(No, I don't seriously think COH will last as long as Chess, or even Monopoly. But the concept that people stop playing a particular game seems to have originated with computer games, and it might not yet turn out to be the case with all computer games. Our sample range is pretty small.)
