  2. Any primary that isn't too team-oriented is good for soloing. As for secondaries, I'd recommend Ice.
  3. It's your game, if you like it leave it on. You don't pay for the game AND the subscription just so some random noob can tell you how/when to use your powers.

Ninjitsu for sure if that's the only choice I have other than SR :]

    Regen vs SR

Meh, I don't like SR so I'm already biased. I just think SR requires you to take every single powers within the set...which is a pain.

SR is also useless in PvP unless Elude is on, like others have mentioned, just because everyone either has Aim or Build Up and there are a lot of accuracy/tohit bonuses flying around from IO's.

Also, like I've stated in many other posts, it's much easier to get defense from IO bonuses on a resistance-based set than it is to get resistance on a defense-based set. This pretty much means that your /SR wont have as much room for improvements.

So it was your damn fault that I couldn't find any mobs around the street for my hunt mission!

    min/maxer?

Now I'm confused. I thought a min/maxer was one that is extremely good at one thing and one thing only.

For example, a Blaster created for maximum damage output without regards to anything else would be a min/maxer. A toon built as a "jack of all trades" that can pretty much do everything but doesn't specialize in any one thing is not a min/maxer...or at least I thought this was the case before now.

    Fortitude

Definitely slot for recharge first. Being able to Fortitude 1 or even 2 more people is much more valuable than increasing defense or tohit values by a couple percentages.

    Infridgidate...

Why are we having a discussion on whether or not Infrigidate should be taken? It is obviously the BEST power in Cold Domination, aside from Ice Shield, Snow Storm, Glacial Shield, Frostwork, Arctic Fog, Benumb, Sleet and Heat Loss.

In PvP, whenever I get Infrigidate on someone, I would just simply walk away afterward, knowing that they would eventually go suicide in a mob just because they know they've lost the fight.

Can Energy Drain be used instead of having to go Health/Stamina? I'm thinking not, but that's just a gut feeling. And what about Energy Cloak? Worth the cost for that piddly extra defense? Conserve Power seems like an easy skip due to the ridiculous recharge time. Can you successfully skip the passives, or is that just gonna leave you even more squishy?
The problem with defensive-based armors is that they require you to take pretty much all the passives. In this case, the passives in EA will help your resistance a lot, I would recommend taking it. As for Stamina, you'll need it because of all your toggles.

Ever since IO's came out, defensive armors have a hard time measuring up to resistance-based armors. Main reason is that it's extremely easy to get defensive bonuses from IO's for resistance armors, however, it's pretty difficult or even impossible to get decent resistance bonuses from defensive-based armors.

Thanks! I was somewhat confused because Mid's showed them as percentages and I wasn't sure.
  15. I'm not really sure on how the tohit mechanics work on this game. Do tohit debuffs apply directly to something else's tohit value?

First example: if I'm fighting something that has a tohit value of 100 and I use my Darkest Night, which has a tohit debuff of 28%. Would this mean that whatever I'm fighting now have 72 tohit value instead of 100?

Second example: say I'm fighting the same thing again that has a tohit value of 100 but I use Darkest Night AND Fearsome Stare, which both has a tohit debuff of 28% each for a total of 56% tohit debuff. Would this mean that whatever I'm fighting now have 100 - 56% = 44 tohit value?

I guess what I'm asking is, if I have several tohit debuffs, would all those debuffs add up together first and THEN apply to my target? Or would it they individually apply to my target's CURRENT tohit value...such as, 100 - 28% = 72 and then take that 72 - 28% = 51.84 tohit value?

Also, where do I go to see my current tohit value? Is it in my Combat Attributes?

^^ Most convenient way to do it. I'd follow this guy off a cliff.
  17. just a quick question, does phasing out also disable all toggle-debuffs that are currently on you? For example, if I have Darkest Night on me, if I Hibernate, would that de-toggle Darkest Night? For some reason, I keep thinking that even when phased out, a debuff-toggle can still be on you, granted it's not affecting you but it's still on you until you get out of phase, then it will affect you.
  18. Yea, I was thinking a Blaster would have the upper hand just because it's hard for a Defender to do anything against the first several seconds of Aim + BU + attack chain.

I was thinking maybe a Dark/ Defender can use Black Hole (that is NOT slotted for +intangible duration) to phase shift the Blaster out right after the Blaster uses Aim + BU. Then there may be enough time to lay down a couple debuffs.

Edit: Actually, you don't even have to go that far. Just get a phase shift power for yourself and phase out after you see Aim+BU, then you can control when to phase back in.

  20. Pick a Blaster that you think is "best" for PvP.
Now pick a Defender that you think is "best" for PvP.

If these 2 face off, who would win?

  22. To OP:

In PvP, Scrappers fair a lot better because no one is just going to stand there and let a Brute build Fury. Scrappers can also gank squishy a lot easier than Brutes, simply because their base damage is much higher than that of a Brute. Scrappers also have crits that can be extremely handy at times.

Also, if it's a Scrapper VS Brute in PvP, anyone with a brain would try to kite a Brute and not just stand there for him to build up Fury.

As for PvE, Brutes can build up Fury pretty quickly so I don't really see how Scrappers are better in this scenario. Brutes can also fill in the Tanker role a lot easier than Scrappers as well.

It's a pet hate, and really really winds me up.

Now the way that powers cost Endurance, and the recovery you get as base... pretty much means that Fitness Pool is already picked for you whether you like it or not.

But what happens when this isn't enough?? What else can we do...

Does anyone know where you can get more blue bar from?
So far I am running a high recharge stormie with a few toggles and this is what I have so far.

    Atlas Medallion +5% max end
    Portal Jockey +5% max end
    Fully slottted stamina
    IO set bonuses
Including Numi + Miracle Procs +35.5% recovery (total bonus)

So at the moment I am looking at 211% (3.88/s) and I am still struggling.

Is there any where else I can get more recovery?
If you haven't already, slot some Endurance Reduction Enhancements into powers that cost more than 10 endurance to use and all your toggle powers. They key for keeping your endurance bar happy as a Stormy isn't so much about recovery but more about endurance reduction.

Storm is a very end-heavy set. Starting with just your O2 Boost alone, that's 13 endurance per activation already and O2 Boost's base recharge is just 4 seconds...if you spam that heal you will use up a lot of endurance. If you have this power I suggest slotting it with 1 or 2 end-reduction.

    > Snow Storm and Steamy Mist both cost .52 endurance per sec while Hurricane costs a whopping .65 end per sec. If you have these 3 toggles on without any endurance reduction, that's a HUGE 1.69 endurance per sec. Slotting all 3 of these toggles with 2 end-reduction each will bring the total down to .91 endurance per sec, which is a big help.

    > As for the other 3 click powers in Storm, Freezing Rain @ 18.2 endurance, Tornado at 20.8 endurance and Lightning Storm at 31.2 endurance...well you do the math.

As you can see, it doesn't matter how much recovery you have, if you have all 3 toggles on AND you put out Freezing Rain, Tornado and Lightning Storm, your endurance bar is going to be empty in no time.

Of course, extra recovery will definitely help, but think about slotting for endurance reduction first if you haven't already.
  24. By the way, just to clear things up a bit, since I think some of you are misunderstanding me.

I'm not talking about inviting a Brute when you're building a team. It's more like if you've got a team already and you're lacking a dps or you're lacking a tanker, who would you invite? Would you invite a Brute if you're looking for a dps? Would you invite a Brute if you're looking for a tank?
