  1. For comparison. I have a build on my Kat/Regen with everything but the single target taunt from the Presense pool. I use the AoE fear to stop large groups around me for a second. For breatheing room to let my heals recharge a bit. And stacked, I can fear bosses(Not for too long). I don't use them too often, but it's saved me more then once.

X AND C ARE RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER!
  3. They could also add a "teen" male/female body type. Or "animal-like" body types.

They don't because they'd have to also do a copy of every animation in the game for these new bodies. They'd have to make a copy of every costume peice, every aura, ever everything.

And from now on, their work is now 1/3rd larger for making new powersets and costume peices.

You saying that further reminds me of when the REAL Chuin bemoaned the horrible miss characterization of himself in the film. Chuin does not splash.

It is not part of a FREE issue, it is part of a PAID expansion.

On the other hand Ultra mode is obviously not a GR exclusive. Like others said, the devs announced that if they could implement it before GR they would, which means its not exclusive GR content. If it is not GR only content they owe you nothing for your loyalty.

Sorry buddy! I wish I was in too, but you can only hope and wait. You won't have to wait that long to get in open beta anyway so no worries man!

I for one can't wait to see the awesome visuals and additions that take up almost 900MB for an update on a game that is only about 3GB!! Excited!!!
On the GR website it states that we get Dual Pistols in march(now) and Demons will launch with Issue 17. in April.

Seeing how little time is left before April, people are assuming that Demon Summoning will be tested alongside Issue 17.

    Jack Emmert?

Oedipus Tex... your avatar+name broke my brain. Just so you know.

And knowing is half the battle.
  7. I dunno, I wouldn't mind a "Looking for badges" option. I get many irate team leaders when I leave "looking for any" with "Just LF X badges" in the comment section. And the "patrol" never gets any hits if I use that instead.
  8. I have another complaint to lodge actually.

The only things my hero can do are stop crimes.

    ... ... ...

Ok, yeah, that sounds silly. But hear me out!

Heroes DO do other things. They stop natrual disasters, for one. Other disasters too. Not everything has to be about stoping kiddnapings.

Lets see some "Disaster contacts" that hand out tough missions with time limits on them. Lets save people from burning buildings(Ideally carring them out, which should be an option for all rescue/kiddnap missions). And stop/avert floods. Catch falling planes. Stop an erupting volcano.

You could add multiple ways for it to be acomplished. Not everyone can just catch the plane.

And by the same token. I'd like my villains to be more proactive in the same way. Cause dissasters and such. Hey, maybe they could even be competitive. Inditect PvP where villains can cause dissasters on the hero side that heroes can fix. Similar to the LGTF causing Rikti invasions.

    ...*cough*

    *scurries off*

  10. You're not allowed to look into the PIGG files at all. More to the point, don't get caught doing it.

But, Fem and Huge are in the same set of PIGG files. What you saw was nothing new.

    As far as I know

BAH! You people and your facts!

I would like to posit though that MOST birds just hop around. They don't really use bipedal locomotion. All they need is the large talon at the base to keep them steady. Ostriches are a big exception, I think. How do they deal with it?

    (also roadrunners)
  15. My biggest problem with the game today...

The fact that all I can do is beat your face in until you hit the ground. I can't force them to surrender or talk them out of fighting or "permanently" hold someone. Yeah, ok, that sounds kind of lame.

But what I'm getting at is that the only way to beat someone is to break their body. I want to break their will to fight.

    As an example.

Add in a, lets say, orange bar under End. The Will bar.

If their Will hits 0. They give up. And you get experience as if you defeated them. Things that could lower the will bar...

Seeing their friends knocked out. If you just footstomped 15 guys across the room. That 16th drops his gun and gives up on the spot.

Status effects. Immobilize having a small effect, hold and fear having the biggest effect. Slowly DoTing the will bar. Many many times in comics. The hero just plasters a guy to the wall and leaves them.

Losing their own HP or being at 0 END for too long. Seeing the boss knocked out. If Tyrant goes down, are his minions really going to try and beat the guy that took him down?

Of course, various monster types should have varying levels of will. I don't see a DE monster surrendering any time soon. You could throw in all sorts of variables. Resistance to will damage. Weakness to some types of damage over others. Vahz zombies might be highly resistant to fear(the dead don't fear much) but take out the morts and watch them mentally shut down.

I guess what I'm asking for is more depth to fighting foes. Beyond just beating group after group of them up.

Heck, on that note I'd love to see their tactical options expanded. If you trip the council alarms, let them send some ambushes at me. Maybe if one of them runs off they can warn the guys in the back of the mission that "Hey, it's a fire based hero. Whip out the cryo rounds!" Or have them set up barricades. Close blast doors. Bring up automated defenses or even manned ones. Getting to the end to find the boss has set up mini-gun turrets and has his minions tucked behind rows of sandbags.

    *ahem*

I could do this all night. S'yeah. More options. More choices. More interaction.

That's the opposite of what I was saying. I don't even know how the WoW guys pulled it off, other then witchcraft. Or perhaps slave labor.

Creating that sort of "instanced-but-not-instanced" thing in CoH would be massive, if it's even possible.

Far as I'm concerned, the city has been developing in the most efficient way possible - retain all the old content for those of us who actually like it, but add new content for those looking for something new. Rooting out the 5th Column has got to be the WORST thing that has happened to the game, content-wise, and even now that they're back... They really aren't. They have almost not story to their name, and all the good bits were given over to the Council anyway.

In World of Warcraft, they have a "Phasing" system that they're using with their new content. So now when you defeat a named boss or monster. It's dead for you. The game itself won't render that monster for you. (The exception is on teams, it "syncs" people up)

This "personal world" type code is also applied to the world map. The big example that comes to mind is what they have proposed for their new race's starting zone.

The city was, for simplicity's sake. Infected with Lycanthropy and walled off. New players start off and see this. They have to go through the starting missions and there's sort of a time lapse. When they complete a mission the world changes. Over time they improve the city and eventually the quarantine is lifted. But for every other race, the city is already open to them. In effect, they're in the future... or you're in the past I guess.

I assume people who are "out of sync" don't show up unless you invite them to team.

You could apply a similar system to CoH, letting a player "Clean up" the streets of a villain type. From your point of view, there's no more hellions. But new players still see them until they've cleaned them up. Or even apply it to zones. Letting you clean up and fix the Rikti warzone or clean up Crey's Folly.

Just proposing a thought. I'm sure someone could refine it. And I have no doubt that this is so insanely complicated to pull off in CoH... well... good luck getting the Dev's to try it.
