Quote:Granted, people should have more incentive to do the trials. I think that's been stressed quite a bit already. I'm sure the devs want us to keep playing the content.Personally I hope the rate stays low simply because trials need to be the fastest way period. Otherwise we will start to bleed players doing everything else instead. Which will make it even that much harder on the dead servers to form trial teams.
On the same token, I'm sure they'd like us to play the new content and make use of it, too. So the reward has to be reasonable for us to keep playing that content. I don't know why they'd go through all the trouble to make it for us to feel it's not worth the time. -
Quote:Comparing accolade achievements (completely optional to leveling up) to the new system of character advancement (a process of leveling up) is a straw man argument at best. You don't like trials => you don't do trials => you don't get rewards. Seems more than fair to me... in fact, that seems completely reasonable and down right logical. Try this one:
I don't like Task Forces => I don't do Task Forces => I don't get Task Force Commander Accolade.
People who don't have a schedule that works well with iTrial formats don't end up having any other alternative to level up. At least before level 50 you have options that work with solo play. But if solo play is what you're mostly limited to, offering a reasonable alternative should mean it's worth the time it takes.
Trials should always be faster, no one's arguing against that. But if it takes too long to do solo, you're only chasing away a part of the player base. Does that sound good to you? -
I find it difficult to take your argument serious after that line. You might as well say it's not fair for people to level to 50 by soloing because you always did it with a team (both reasonings are completely flawed). But just like being on a team is faster than being solo, so should the incarnate path. If teaming was just as efficient over soloing during the journey to 50 as it is in iTrials, you'd be hearing just as much complaint.
Flippantly telling others they should just be happy there's a solo path at all isn't effective or constructive. You may as well be telling people to be happy there's a game to play at all when they're asking for improved game mechanics and bug fixes. -

A strong spirited pretty ginger?
I approve. -
Quote:I'm quoting this comment, but I'm really replying to all the people with the same sentiment.I will not buy a "grab bag" despite my ability to do so with my monthly points. This is insulting, and basically tells me that the crew assigned to create new content has now "jumped the shark."
If you haven't purchased a 24 pack of Super Packs, then you're really missing out. As a VIP who had some points stocked up, I bought two 24 Packs. I averaged 1200 Reward Merits from each, got a total of 27 ATOs, got the full costume set off the first bundle, and have impressive amounts of XP Boosters, and other temp powers.
What ATOs I didn't want, I sold to buy the ones I did and came out with more Inf for it.
Honestly, the rewards were well worth the purchase. They're a good deal, and nothing near the gamble people make them out to be. Save up your points if you're a VIP, or do an occasional point purchase to get a 24 pack. You'll be doing yourself a favor. -
Putting the proc in Footstomp has proven pretty good. Just to test it out, I went to Dark Astoria and found a large mob to see how well it worked. With no damage aura on (so my fury stayed at 0) I gained a full Fury bar with one Stomp.
Probably broken, but it's bound to still be good after it's adjusted. -
Eh, just saw that the Super bonus for resistance would be 2.5, not 4. So 5-slotting this without the Acc/Dam. That puts it at 50% acc, and my build already carries +50 acc from bonuses. Should be good.
-
Quote:Well, with this set, I plan on swapping out some slotting elsewhere for more defense bonuses (as this set would more than make up for the recharge bonus change). With the upgraded set, I think you might be able to leave out the dam/rech instead and still have ED-capped recharge, but I don't have the numbers in front of me right now so I'm not sure.
If you want the resistance, though, get that. My personal preference is for the proc, but the difference either way probably isn't huge when you've already got perma-hasten. -
-
So, I've heard if you have a high recharge build, the proc is best placed in AoE powers.
Assuming Perma-Hasten, what would be more beneficial:
Foot Stomp with a recharge proc
Foot Stomp 6-slotted with Brute Fury (upgraded) -
Ever on the quest to improve my brute, even when improvement isn't needed, I've found myself mostly done on collecting the Brute Fury set. But once I'm done, which power should I place it in? I'll be six-slotting it, and I'm going to be placing it in my SS/Elec brute. Is there one power that might make utility of the proc more so than others?

Please, what's the point of double XP when we have so many outlets like XP boosters and...
OH WHO AM I KIDDING?! DOUBLE XP!!
WOOOOOOOT! -
Now that ATO's are live, how about creating an official announcement giving players more details about them.
Am I the only one who feels thinks just get thrown in lately without explanation for the general player base? Yes, these things are in Beta, but come on, not everyone has the time to search these things out and tinker with them before going live. -
I'm going to see this. And I'm going to love it, by George.
-
So, uhm... am I the only one who's asking why they haven't checked Beth for bite/scratch marks? Burning fever is one of the signs, right?
-
Well, while I had no problem with her previous costume, I can see how maybe they want to seem less sexist with a little more cover up. But this costume is just ugly. Why not go with a burqa if they want to go that conservative. And that hair?! Is it stuck on channel 70's or something?

Quote:Obviously, you've never had to kill a person. Let alone a family member. If you don't have at least some tiny reservation about killing someone you know and have a close relationship with, even when it means you'll save others, then you're humanity could be in question. And honestly, I don't think Matt showed much hesitation. I think he did the responsible thing by trying to calm Andrew first. And lets not forget to mention the heat of battle. In situtations where lives have to be saved notions of " but we're family" has no time to manifest itself. You get s*** done. You see someone trying to kill you or other people...YOU STOP THEM...You dont have time to ponder " ...but he's family...I dont want to hurt him. Any person who hesitates to get stuff done to save lives for their parochial BS is a chump.
Being judge, jury and executioner is a choice of last resort. Anyone who doesn't stop to think about the implications is only risking becoming like Andrew. -
Quote:The audience isn't given much history to show whether or not he had some hobby/creative outlet. So you can't say with any authority he didn't. And when he's picked up a hobby of filming everything BEFORE being changed, one should be more inclined to consider that a hobby.Hyperstrike read the entire post. I explain why it isn't realistic for the kid to act like that. The kid literally has no mental escape and that is not realistic. People who are in those situations build mental defenses and escape into something else and because the character is never shown doing that it is not realistic.
Either way, I think you're missing the point that his character development IS realistic. You may not like it, but fortunately, you're not the deciding factor on realistic portrayals.
Quote:I know, which is why I mentioned that no matter which way they went they'd generate some message or cliche. -
Quote:Yeah, because the nerdy, picked-on, socially awkward kid becoming the hero isn't a cliché of its own...just watched it. I'd have preferred if the out comes of the characters arcs would have been reversed... as it is a little less cliche.
[See also:] Kick A**, Spider Man, Goonies, Gen-13, Harry Potter, The Never Ending Story, and the crap-ton of movies, books and comics that have been widely popular in geek culture.
If you came away with popular = good as the message, that's your own problem. Not the fault of the movie. -
I applaud the effort here, because I found the last thread entertaining, but I have to throw this in here...

Quote:I think you're doing it wrong. /SS shouldn't be a problem./SS is bad for farming for the knockback. Definitely drop Titan for that reason too. Fire melee works great though. Or elec. Fire aura is probably the best for farming (seeing as most farms are fire farms anyways), but it's average in the regular content.
Either you're sitting your mobs to -1, therefore turning your KD into KB, or you're one of the few to use Thunder Clap as a farming tool. -
What am I? Plagiarized chopped live!?
Also, /signed!
The arc is tedious and annoying. It's done more to make me avoid playing content than it has in encouraging me to play content.
