  2. They must be real confident that GW2 will be the much-fabled "One MMO To Rule Them All"

Quite frankly, I don't see it.

  4. That's what I get for playing MMOs......just as I was starting to have fun

    Yup. Enjoy, OP
  6. ITF hands down. Between the gobs of xp and the Roman armor, I make an effort to run it on every character I make. I consider the armor pieces as a "trophy" for my efforts.

    Honorable mentions:
Moonfire (Just because I get to fight an army of vampires and werewolves)

Renault (An awesome story starring my favorite villains. Plus, that badge is pure win)

    You guys quack me up.
  11. Well, ever since I started in January, I went from being a free player to a tier 5 premie. I had to have those new toys (staff fighting, water blast, dual pistols, Time, and beam rifle) and some super packs (25 got me a full Elemental Order set and a nice collection of ATO's to sell) as well as some costume packs, the alignment system, an occasional Invention license, and some other random goodies that catch my eye.

That reminds me....*goes to make sure me has enough points to buy Nature Affinity*
  12. So would they be Scrutes or Brappers?

I'd prefer a Stastermind- the power of AS + Ranged nukes + Bots!
*drools at the thought of a StJ/Archery/bots

  14. I don't think I'd ever want to run a DFB with 4 or less people again. My first time running it, we had most of the team leave and we ended up with 3 people (well 4 actually, but one went AFK in the middle of fighting the lost and never came back). The Hydra fight was fun XD two blasters and my newbish DB scrapper

DIB is.....ok. I would run it at least once on a character, although that AV duo was a PITA....ok maybe I would skip it. I'd rather run Synapses TF. Multiple times.
  15. @Hopeling and Hyperstrike

Thanks for the info. I've been wanting to try out SS for awhile now (mainly because of how awesome Foot Stomp looks)
Sounds like Rage is sorta like Build Up with an added T9 style crash. And SS looks like it might be similar to StJ, minus the combos.

Guess I know what I'll be doing during 2XP weekend
  16. Speaking as an SS newbie, how does double stacking Rage work? I assumed that would give you a perma damage boost at the cost of a small def debuff.
Is it so bad that it cripples you if it drops in mid-battle? Wow...and I was told SS is godly on brutes.

If they were to turn the queue into a sort of lobby based system, that would cut down on alot of the LFT "spam". I've seen it work in other games.

And there is a very sharp streak of anti-villain in Hannibal Lector in Silence of the Lambs, where the audience is almost rooting for the character in spite of his obvious evil nature, particularly at the end.
I've always considered Jason Voorhees an anti-villain, as he's only killing annoying people. Seems legit to me.

I was hoping it would turn out to be something like YHVH from the Shin Megami Tensei series. Now THAT would be awesome.
  20. Meh, this won't stop people from spamming the LFG channel for DFB (oddly enough, I rarely see anyone run a DIB nowadays....)

    Carp Melee

That would be a great weapon skin for TW.

But I'm personally waiting for Kitten MM (claw their eyes out!!) or Cardboard Box Melee.

Off topic, but I can't wait till PSO2 comes stateside. It's hard to play when I don't understand the story
  22. Hey, wasn't there another forum poster who used smileys at the end of their sentences, too? I wonder.....

This article, in particular, wasn't a list, per se (as most of Cracked is, yes). It was a writeup of why hipsters suck, an opinion I hold in high esteem.
/smug I was a fan of Cracked BEFORE it went mainstream /smug
*wears a Scanners tshirt and glasses with no lenses for irony*

Yeah I love Cracked. Mostly due to Seanbaby (check out his stuff.comedic gold!!) I have a weird sense of humor.

    Brainstorming conversation version 1:
A: "I think we might be stretching plausibility a bit on page 17 of the script."

B: "How about we hang a lampshade on it?"

    A: "That could work."

    Version 2:
A: "I think we might be stretching plausibility a bit on page 17 of the script."

B: "Well, maybe we could this thing... you know, it's been done before, like when one of the characters in-universe talks about how the thing that's before them is really implausible, from a in-universe perspective. And thus, we get buy-in from the audience that they are having the same perspective on the implausibility as the author, which takes a lot of the negative impact away. Or we could use some other mechanism to draw attention to the implausibility of the events beside character exposition, as long as we draw attention to it, rather than trying to sweep it under the rug..."

A: "I think I know what you are getting at..."

TVTropes simply creates a common reference point, and the shorthand vocabulary can be very useful at times.

To me, people who suggest that the classification of pop culture by TV Tropes is misguided sound a lot like people who said physicists just don't appreciate the beauty of rainbows because they go on EXPLAINING them with all this talk of photons and variable light wavelengths.

Heh I've been called a "hipster" before for referring to TVTropes while in conversations. I was insulted. I am NOT a hipster, I'm a nerd
