Yesss!!!
All I want rocky to look like is a mini-granite tank. Then my lifw would be complete. I mean honestly, how did they devs come up with that design...maybe
"Ok, close your eyes, turn around and point out your finger, whatever you point at will be Rocky's design." -
I went into playing a NRG/WP brute a few weeks back and hes now lv50. All I gotta say is that I had a blast playing the set.
Sure people say its gimped now, but for someone with no prior knowledge to set of how it used to be, and also being someone that doesnt concern himself with what he believes to be minor changes to the set, I didnt find any fault with it. Although the one AoE was kind've a letdown.
I believe it all depends on the type of player you are, if you're just looking to have a good time and beat guys to a bloody pulp wit your Fists of Doom! ( NOT POM POMS!!), than you're gonna have a great time. But if you're more in the tactician mindset, it'll vary.

Let's see how much taunt capability I have playing as a Fire/SS tank.
Blazing Aura
Footstomp
Gauntlet
Taunt
Looking at that small list, I have four tools in my disposal that'll keep the baddies pissed at me. Four? A bit overkill wouldnt you say? (Dont even get me started with a Ice/fire) Especially when the last one listed there was made specifically for the AT.
While I dont mind the Gauntlet the way it is, I do agree that there needs to be something added to it to make the tank more unique among its fellow ATs. I kinda liked the fear proc mentioned a couple posts back.
"As you tear through foes with your uncanny resilience, your enemies begin to lose hope as they fear that there is no way to match your awesome might." I think they'd be a nice addition to the tanker theme. -
May I suggest replacing it with super jump? With all the temp powers out there, you could easily replace SJ with one of them when you ex down. Dont think you'd miss it too much.
Besides, it's only temporary.

My main gripe with the tanker class has been that there is nothing that really makes it unique. Sure it can take a load of damage, but so can the Brute, and in most cases, even the scrapper. Those two ATs practically laugh in the face of the tank as they can take what he can, yet still give what he can't. The brute was made to be an offensive juggarnaut, so therefore, they got fury; the scrapper was made to be hand-to-hand master, so therefore, they got criticals.
The tank on the otherhand has nothing going for it. Sure he can agitate others by punching on their friends, but that effect is useless when one already has an offensive aura combined with taunt. The brute and the scrapper are supposed to dish out the damage, so therefore, you gave them inherents that aid them with the endeavor, the tanker is supposed to take the damage, so therefore, give him something that will actually help him take the said damage.
A simple proposal is reversal of the Brute's fury bar. Instead of giving tanks more damage the longer they stay in a fight, give them more resistance/defense. Change the name from gauntlet to resilient.
Just my 2 cents... -
Dont expect it until after I15. Because with the way people are treatin AE now, well...let's just say you'll start hearing alot of lv50 toons asking "Wut are enhancement?"
-
Came back and outta nowhere I see your name as the last post on TCoSHR and begin thinking to myself "Holy Crap! She's Back!" I read it and all i gotta say is....
"DAYUUM!!!
P.S. Looking forward to the sequel! -

All I'm saying is, being forced to play with a side effect that obviously frustrates many players isnt good. Yeah I can make another build, but I shouldnt have to.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wut the? If someone doesn't like knockback, and there are powersets available to every AT that include little or no knockback, why would that player choose a powerset that features knockback as a secondary effect in almost every power?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because the player is new and hasn't gotten to learn the mechanics of the game yet, they only picked the set as it fits a theme that they'd like. The very first hero I ever made was a Energy/Elec blaster, mainly because I loved the show DBZ and wanted to make my own kickbutt version of one. Had I known there was so much KB hate in the game, I would've rolled a fire/elec or whatever.
I see no harm in being able to voluntarily shutoff one's KB.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh my this is no lie but my very first toon was also an energy/elec blaster and I made him cause you guessed it I also LOVE DBZ/DBGT.
But it worked out for me cause in DBZ/DBGT their energy blasts knock mad stuff around all the time. Their constantly getting hit into and threw mountains. So it actually makes sense from this point of view
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL, I bet seeing the power Lightning Field in the /elec pool sealed the deal didnt it? Too bad it it sucks though.
-
<QR>
Just let the OP turn off his KB. If it's ruining his overall enjoyment of the game, and he's already invested plenty of time with his toon, than he shouldnt have to deal with it.
Who are we to tell him to deal with it. -

Now that is an extreme case of RP'ing. Pretty clever though.

How about a Lottery System in the game?
Every week, one lucky hero per server is given a large sum of money. All you gotta do is visit the bank and enter your toon for the chance. The lottery could be sponsored by WWs for charity, and the BM to keep the feds off their case. All the money they make off their auction fees would be added together as the lottery sum. So, the more people that shop at WWs that week, the more money in the lottery.
As the lottery would be server based, only one toon per server can enter for that particular server. Meaning, if you have 12 alts on one server, than you cant enter all 12 of them, only one; but, you can enter on different servers which have other alts on. This would be to make the chances even for those that aren't altaholics.
So what do you all think? You feeling lucky? -

Try learning how to use KB to your advantage.
[/ QUOTE ]
This quote is easier said than done. With all of the craziness that happens in some missions, having to limit your playstyle to please others isnt something a player should be subject to.
[/ QUOTE ] Nobody said it's always easy. It's just having to use a different tactic instead of standing in the back of the pack setting off powers.
If people complain about the KB, try moving your position and/or changing your target to so it directs the KB in a different way. Try knocking the foes together, or toward the team, instead of apart or away from the team.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like I said, changing a playstyle that's fun for you to satisfy others isn't right. The fire blaster can set his feet and hammer away, so can the elec/, and ice/. I'm just saying, it sucks sometimes.
[/ QUOTE ] Like I said.. find a team that suits your needs... or a group of "friends" that wont complain about it. There are plenty of them out there.

Ok, that's what I figured, thanks guys. Makes sense since I've been playing on Virtue lately.

When playing, I often see some people use 2 sets of parenthesis between their chat. For example, here is a sample text.
((My dog and I went to the park))
Im presuming it has something to do with RP but Im not entirely sure. Anyone know what this really means? -

Fees for enhancements and inspirations I understand - they make your characters better. Fees for common IO recipies and for crafting enhancments I understand for the same reason. Even fees for changing your reputation I understand - it can change the way the game plays and how you earn rewards.
But why fees for changing your costume? Other than to cut down on traffic at Icon or the Facemaker, what practical reason is there for tailor fees? Unlike the other things for which fees are charged, changing your costume does not affect the ease with which you are able to play the game, or the rewards you are able to earn. Do costume changes burden the game's software or hardware in some what that makes limiting them desirable?
[/ QUOTE ]
In-Game you influence/infamy is reduced because your appearance has changed and you are not as recognizable.

You're forgeting one thing Lavitae. If your gonna have a /throwmoney emote, than you gonna need to have a /dogpile emote. Cause once that money hits the floor...so am I.

Or at least give us some breadcrumbs to follow.
Why must everyone we rescue be an idiot? -
If this set is made, than it wouldnt it make Blasters obsolete?
-
I personally would love this idea. I absolutely hate KB on my NRG/ blaster simply because I know that tightly huddled groups are alot easier to deal with than scattered ones.
I made my NRG/ blaster for theme reasons when I first purchased the game, if I would have possessed the knowledge about the set then as I do now, than I more than likely would've picked different. Great suggestion Helin. -

My arc: 214242, "Smuggler's Blues."
I know there are some funky issues with defendable objects (and mobs sometimes even get stuck inside 'em!), but I'd really appreciate some feedback on the arc overall, including difficulty level. I've only got a few solo-able alts to test with, and
tried to tune it to "challenging, but still very doable for strong solo builds." Did I succeed? Or is it a cakewalk/nightmare for you?
[/ QUOTE ]
Alright prisoner, I just finished running your arc so I'll give you a rundown of how i fared on each mission.
Mission 1: Im not a big fan of big maps with 6 different objectives to locate, but this one didnt really give me much trouble. The trucks were easy to spot (although I'll admit i thought they were apart of the map and went blissfully by them numerous times before i realized they were the objective) and surprisingly I didnt have much trouble finding the drivers. One thing I want to point out is that, the compass told me that I needed to defend 3 trucks. I'd only defended 2 and when it told me mission complete. Not sure what happened.
Mission 2: This one got a bit crazy. For some odd reason, as soon as I walked into the big room, I started getting attacked by the mob above me. Next thing I know, the group on the far left side of the room aggro'd to me, and before I knew it, the entire room was attacking me. I tried to rescue my ally, the little bot guy, but things were so crazy that he died like 10 secs after I rescued him. Luckily, the mobs in the 1st room spawned at lvl 48 (not sure why tbh) so I was able to deal with them without much trouble with my lv50. Once again, there were alot of mission objectives to locate, but im just happy it was a linear map
.
Mission 3: Remember when I said i wasn't a big fan of large maps with many objectives? Well...this mission absolutely drained me. Not only did I have to find the glowies, I had to defeat all of the baddies. Dude, that mish was just torture. The bright side of this mish however, is that fighting the custom group was very satisfying. A bunch of chicks dressed in skirts was just what I needed to get through that mish.) And their dialogue was very refreshing as well. I believe one said "Don't you ever miss men?" and the other replied "Don't tell anyone, but i sneak my BF here on Tuesdays." It made me lol. But i will say the theme of that island was awfully familiar.
Mission 4 - I was a little confused as to why the knockoutgas was put in the mission. Didnt seem to fit the amazon theme for a bit, but I didnt really mind it. I did manage to find the victim down there as well, but I didnt lead him to the exit for one particular reason. I was so anxious to see what this "Amazing Amazon" woman looked like, and when i saw her I completely lol'd. She looked completely identical to another amazon woman I just so happen to know. But your amazon woman seemed to know both Martial arts and have Superstrength. I was expecting her to be SS/Inv as the one I know is.
Overall, I enjoyed the arc. You did Borellis dialogue very well and he never broke personality. I will say this however, it was very easy to get overwhelmed while in your mission as you had alot of ambushes. Playing as a NRG/WP brute, I welcomed the ambushes with an open smiles, but something along the lines of a blaster, troller would just be slaughtered in your missions; especially against the amazons. They had so many blind attacks I thought i was gonna end up becoming the next Daredevil lol. Overall, great arc, my only issue was with mission 3. Take out the defeat all, or make it adefeat Hippoylautus (think i spelled that right) and her guards and it'd alot more solid.
4 of out 5 stars.
Okay, my arc...
Name: Going Rogue
ID: 216547
Length: 4 missions. (One defeat all)
I'd previously had this arc reviewed by another but after his feedback, I practically went in and did a complete overhaul of the arc. When I made it, I scrapperdom in mind as I am a huge scrapper/brute/tank fan, but I did manage to tear through it with my blaster. Finally, If you run this arc, than I strongly recomend bringing a tank for the last mission, especially if you have a large team, it's meant to be hard. -
