Quote:Twilight's Son is from the future. In the future, he is the last Kheldian. Or so they say.It was pretty funny when my Warshade did the Ouroboros introduction arc to be told, "Twilight's Son is the last of his race. The Kheldians have been wiped out and used as a source of energy to power the ships of a deadly alien force in the far distant future."
I even made sure to jump into Nova form before I started the chat for lol purposes. Not sure if this has been brought up before or not, but I thought I'd put it out there. -
I had this conversation last night with a friend after running a Tin Mage:
FRIEND: Hmm, I really should respec this character to take advantage of Inherant Fitness.
ME: Why hadn't you done it yet?
FRIEND (thinks for a second): I guess because the 25 minutes it takes to respec is 25 minutes I could instead be fighting stuff. -
1. Avatar creation re-vamp. Others have spelled it out. Must include jetpacks.
2. Cross-server teaming.
3. Revamp of older mission content to take advantage of branching dialogue. Make the arcs punchier and eliminate redundancy. Allow Rogues and Vigilantes to be created from the beginning. Use alternate dialogue to change mission tone/objectives depending on alignment (example: Mongoose would have slightly different missions depending on your alignment).
4. 20-50+ Praetorian content, available to all players. "Primals" would play the content as undercover agents or Resistance collaborators.
5. More supergroup stuff. Base love, SG badges, accolades, etc. I would love for my SG to have a "home area" that they police. Time spent doing missions or patroling there earns the SG some sort of shiny. Citizens say things like "the streets certainly feel safer now that The Justice Troubadours moved in", that sort of thing. -
Ran around this ship the last I20 sneak peak. Definitely one of the best game interiors yet.

I occassionally run with my 7-year-old. When we play, I make certain that I'm the mission leader and can handle griefers quickly.

The best decision made by Schumaker for his Batman movies was keeping Gough as Alfred.
The biggest mistake made by Nolan was replacing Gough with Caine.
Yes, that's pretty much the only thing Schumaker got right. -
Yes, the developers should create new content that is challenging and pushes players out of their "normal" methods of playing. If you don't push new and better content, many will get bored from doing the same thing over and over again. The biggest complaint about this game (rightly or wrongly) is that you "run out of things to do" too fast.
Fortunately, they almost never remove other content to make way for the new, so people who enjoy doing the same things over and over again can keep playing that way as well. -
Quote:And in the case of actual conflicts, perhaps it can be settled in the Arena?I wonder, aside from those people that have both NA and EU account, active or otherwise, how many people this will actually effect. 100 at the absolute very most?
Two globals enter, one global leaves. -
My River tribute is a MA/WP scrapper. She's a lot of fun.

I believe Miss Martian did have a line early in the episode about how Earth doesn't look like it did on TV.

Quote:Do they actually refer to themselves as Americans though? I believe they refer to themselves as Brazilians, Mexicans, and Guatemalans.Nitpick- America≠USA.
Brazilians, Mexicans, Guatemalans, etc are all Americans.
We citizens of the United States of America I guess could call ourselves Unitarians or Statesmen, but one's been taken and the other is some video game's IP. -
Quote:I'd agree with you if the complaint was about writing style. The complaint was about content. Since I don't know the whole story, there's no way that I (or anyone) can read Feast of Crows and know what's important and what's not. I suspect it's all important.Sure, it's Martin's story to tell. But that doesn't mean he's above criticism about how he write that story. Not meaning to come down on this too much, it's just a pet peeve of mine after many years of hearing people talk about how their style is above criticism. Aesthetics is always an area of much debate, both for and against artists of all stripes and caliber. You do have to make sure you're in the realm of aesthetics and not simple clarity or unity of writing.
It's my pet peeve that someone reads something they don't like and just say "he needed a better editor", or something like that. You don't like a book, fine. But don't suppose that what came out isn't exactly what was wanted or needed. -

Quote:I haven't read anything in any of the books that I'd define as "unnecessary". After all, it's Martin's story to tell, not mine.He said "quality." Heh.
All kidding aside, I think the second book was one of the best Fantasy novels I've ever read. The 4th was easily one of the worst. Speaking of quantity over quality, Martin really needs someone to smack him on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper and say, "No! Bad writer! Take the unnecessary 722 pages out!" -

Quote:Completely disagree. Young Dick Grayson was the laughing daredevil of comics. Young Tim was much more serious and studious. Even in the Young Justice comic. The show is ok for me so far. I know it is aimed at kids and doesn't really follow what happened in the actual comic. What really makes me mad is what they did with Robin.
The Robin in the young justice comic was Tim and the way that they portray him on the cartoon is how Tim acts and evens follows how Tim acted in the actual comic. This is why I first liked the show and then to find out the Robin on the cartoon they are calling Dick Grayson.
In any case, this episode was a really nice look at YJverse Atlantis, and an explanation why Calder, not Garth, is this 'verse's Aqualad. Black Manta was suitably vicious. -
Quote:The delay seems to have been caused by:Martin's delay hasn't been health related so far( although he is reaching that age where it is a possibility), I'm not sure if its him getting writers block, becoming disinterested in the series or whatever. He has been busy on other projects, but the annoying part is, after 6 years it seems almost like he has deliberately not been working on the series. I do hope Martin, his family, and his publisher have made arrangements for completing the series if he is unable to, maybe to the next Brandon Sanderson.
1. The story getting bigger in the telling. Specifically, his original plan was to skip the story forward after A Storm of Swords about five years. As he started that book, he realized that he was telling too much stuff in flashback, and decided to simply tell the story of those five years. A Feast For Crows was simply what he got done first.
2. Figuring out to get characters from one place to another. Related to #1, he didn't have to actually plan out how characters got from one place to another in those five years. Once he decided that he would actually tell the story, the logistics of actually moving the characters in place in relation to the timeline became problematic.
3. Other projects. Can't blame the guy for not necessarily wanting to work on the same thing 100% of the time when he has other things he likes to do, like writing other things and editing.
4. The upcoming Game of Thrones TV series. He approved each of the main castings, wrote one of the episodes, and has been involved in the publicity.
5. Getting married.
6. Going to conventions/watching football/having a life.
I don't begrudge him any of the above, just glad the book has a real release date. -
I wouldn't call it a must, but I always seem to find a place for it. I think all of my characters would have it if it were customizable.

But then the Rikti aggro's the Hami, and it starts shooting at everyone. I'd rather not have the Hami start shooting until I'm ready to deal with it.
-
Good casting, but I still have deep reservations about the premise.
-
The "Failed" sound effect is the saddest little sound ever.
-
This and Supersidekicking were just such incredible QoL improvements, I wonder how I played before.
Also:
1. Dominator re-vamp.
2. Stalker re-vamp.
3. Defiance 2.0.
4. Brusing.
5. Fitness working in Kheldian forms.
6. The animation/activation reworking that Castle and BAB did a few years ago.
7. ITF, LGTF, Apex, and Tin Mage.
8. "The Coming Storm". Whatever it is, nothing gets people speculating more on the forums, in global chat, and over Vent.
9. Spring Fling/Halloween/Winter events.
10. Allowing villains to take EPPs. -
Physics Lass (Grav/Storm) is Alpha'd up to Uncommon.
Crystal Quartz (Earth/Sonic) will have something in the slot by the end of the week. -
Maybe a Sunday morning "Hami And Eggs" Brunch Raid? Say, 11:00 AM EST (8:00 AM PST, 4:00 PM GMT)? I was thinking about trying to get something like that going, since the Wednesday night TA raids were getting so popular that it's been hard for folks to get in.
