I want /e jugglesnow before I want /e jugglepistols but that would still be awesome.
We need jugglesnow already! Just recolor the juggling balls white and give em a frosty trailing aura... wouldn't be hard. Even if they just made it a holiday emote like /e snowflakes. I want my Cold/Ice Defender to be able to juggle snowballs. -
WOAH! That's absolutely right! o.O
Freaky...
TPBM is thinking about Dual Pistols (Whether they think it awesome or stupid I can't tell...) -
Q. How many PvPers does it take to change a lightbulb?
A. At least Four. One to complain that the new lightbulb is nerfed. One to complain about the change in general. One to leave the room. And one to not care and change the lightbulb anyways. -
I'll enter in my two catgirls.
First up is Snow Panther:
http://www.virtueverse.com/index.php/Snow_Panther
Sarah was born with her cat ears and tail, as well as her blue hair, so it was apparent from birth that she was a mutant but that was perfectly fine with her parents, they loved her just the same. Her powers themselves didn't manifest until she was 10 when she wished for a white Christmas. Living in Miami she had never seen a snowflake in person, but on Christmas Eve a small pocket of freezing air formed above her house and yard and snow began to fall.
Beyond this first event of a storm she didn't have much control over her powers for awhile, usually being able to just freeze water in a glass or, after she developed them further and concentrated hard enough, create a snowball to catch her friends off guard. Of course it didn't help that she was the only one in the whole city that was able to make a snowball, so she was always caught. Over time she has harnessed her abilities further and is now able to create small storms, walls of ice, shards of ice which she can hurl at enemies, and can skate on ice she forms in front of her as she walks to achieve greater speeds than a normal human can run.
Next is Magic Minx:
http://www.virtueverse.com/index.php/Magic_Minx
Part time hero, part time stage magician. Magic Minx has no memory of her past, having awoken from a daze with no knowledge of herself while still retaining education of a high school level, and possessing an innate ability to perform various simple magic tricks without fail. Since awakening from whatever struck her she has gained a stronger grasp of magic in both the stage and combat roles.
She is very flashy in her actions. When asked about it once she replied "I prefer to save the citizens with a smile on their face."
Though I did not show it in the references, in game I have a string of emotes and phrases I like to put on as a sort of magic show where it ends with her attempting to make herself disappear, upon which she fails and only causes her clothing to disappear in a puff of smoke, leaving her in just her underwear up on stage or in the middle of a crowd, wherever she's putting on the show.
Basically, if she isn't in the middle of a fight her magic has a chance of backfiring on her, something about the difference in concentration. If you have ideas of other magical backfires, they could prove interesting art pieces. -
Congrats winners. Prizes well won

Quote:*Hears the whooshing sound of the joke flying over Infinity's head...*Well, yes, it will be. When you can purchase it.
Keep in mind, Paragon Studios is in Central Time Zone, too. It's only 10:30AM there. Even IF it's supposed to release today, that's still a LOT of time left in the day.
And it's SURELY going to be long before the July release date of GR, so...
Yes, it will be early access. -
Do you have a link? I've heard March 2nd as well but I can't find a place the devs said it themselves. And I'd like some reassurance >.>

Actually Martial Arts doesn't look too bad with this. On all the Martial Artists I've had (and with a lot of melee attacks) I'll jump over an enemy while activating the power, which causes it to hit them even as I'm leaving melee range. Works really well with super speed or ninja run activated.
But I think the balance and animation issues would keep this from becoming a reality. Just thought I'd pipe in that in a way it's already possible with some powers. (the roundhouse kick from Martial Arts looks great with the trick I mentioned above) -
Quote:No worriesYeah we would rather have everyone on the same footing design wise , which is why we are only allowing costumes created via the CoX costume creator .
so no hand drawn entries no dressing up as statesman no screenies from other games etc etc just what you can create via the in game creator .
hope that clears up any confusion .I still have my first entry in. I had a feeling it wouldn't be accepted but since nothing was stated in the rules I wasn't sure.
-
Quote:I looked in the rules and they didn't specify that it had to be in the CoH character creator, or a video game at all. (From what I see someone could draw them out themselves and it would still count)i like that but not sure if thats in the rules but they look good and im loving the Fantsay set
But if the judge doesn't want to count it then I'm perfectly fine with it. Just thought it'd be a fun way to redesign them. -
Edit: I wasn't sure if this would be acceptable and it seems it isn't. But I don't mind, I still have another entry still in there. This was fun to do anyways and hope people enjoy them.
For my second entry to the contest I decided to go a different route. To "That Other Superhero Game". I figure, if you're going to upgrade signature characters it should be with parts not available in our game.
So here we are:
Statesman:
I couldn't decide whether to show him with the helm or without so I'm just gonna show both here.
Sister Psyche:
Manticore:
Positron:
Back Alley Brawler:
Synapse:
I did make a Numina but I forgot to take a screenshot before exiting the program... soooo... I don't have a Numina. And I didn't have plans to make a Citadel to begin with. I may edit this post later if I get the energy to remake Numina. -
My SG leader managed to turn one of the vet reward comic cover posters at an angle. He would never tell me how he did it though so I can't repeat it here
But it's apparently possible. (May only be with wall items though)

Well it's either that or the Mystic Fortune power. Remember with the Architect Edition you get to choose between the Cyborg pack (with the Self Destruct) and the Magic pack (with the Mystic Fortune) But whichever you choose you can still buy the other one via the online store. I personally used my copy of the Architect Edition to get the Magic pack for cheap ($15 for a month of game time... only $5 for the pack as opposed to my $15 subscription plus $10 for the pack).

Finally getting my submission in. I wanna apologize ahead of time for the power effects that might get in the way. I can't get screenshots in the character creator for some reason so I had to put them in an AE arc and forgot to take powers away from some of them.
To start off we have Statesman:
For him I figured we shouldn't take him too far from his original but could still add some details. Such as the Valkyrie helmet to add some wings to his outfit. What American hero could be complete without wings?
Sister Psyche:
Psyche's deciding to cover up some but we couldn't take away ALL the eye candy. The fishnets of the top serve to tease without putting out on display.
Positron:
Positron's suit is looking a little sleeker but retains functionality. Not much else to say.
Back Alley Brawler:
BABs has never been one for flashy. Except of course in his gloves, but of course his fist is the last thing you'll see before getting laid out anyways. A leather jacket that screams bad*** and some longer hair complete this "You might as well lock yourself up, it'll be less painful" look.
Manticore:
Manticore seemed a little underprotected for someone without any powers. So adding some padding and a flak jacket should provide a little more defense in those tough situations.
Synapse:
A look that, in my opinion, is a little more sleek than the last one. Is the red on his shoes supposed to be there? Or is the friction starting to turn up the heat? You decide.
Numina:
Numina's look as always been, in my opinion, one of the better looks of the Phalanx. We just HAD to stick with robes, albeit a slightly different design to them. Some high heels prove that Numina has a feminine side but that wild hair had to go, replaced with something nicer and more managed.
Citadel:
Citadel is just an all around powerhouse, and his redesign had to show that. Some bulked up armor some upgrades to power management and he could take on Recluse's circle himself!
Hope you guys like emI may come back with more later if I get around to it.

Do you think the name "Wheel of Fish" would get generic'd? If not I claim it now >.>
Seriously though. I'm all for a Whip Assault set. I still find it hilarious that whips are being put in the game and not being given to the only archetype whose name screams whips, Dominators. -
-
Actually I think in a way the technology for it is already there, sorta. When the Council took over the 5th Column way back in the day they had that day long event where all over the city you could find Council and 5th attacking eachother.
Either way this sounds like a really fun event. Wouldn't have to be tied into any kind of holiday, just a random occurrence. /signed like John Hancock -
Yes. This. Please. Or at least give us back the burning forest map! The very first arc I made in AE is ruined without it. At least if we have fires we can make ANY map burn.
With fires as placable enemies/items you could have something like this happen:
Mission Objective: Set bomb in warehouse.
When you set the bomb it 'explodes' and causes fires to spawn all over the map. -
Moonwalk can be the inherent power that comes with it
Not only an awesome alternative to Walk, but for an effect. PBAoE Confusion :P
Or maybe a self-rez based on Thriller.
I was putting guitars as a War Mace weapon because they're blunt objects (Unless you get into the really heavy metal where they have blades on the sides, in which case it would go in Battle Axe)
Quote:Since you can already select songs and play them from the emote list, I don't see any reason for song commands. Essentially, we already have access to the ones in the game - including their names.
I'm just glad I wasn't flamed on my first thread :P -

I really like this ideaIt could kind of bring souvenirs in line with badge-collecting. And could also give people more reason to do more of the game's actual storylines. As it is, yes I rather like the souvenirs in my Clues bag but there's not much there. They all have the question mark cause the Devs never got around to giving them icons, so there's no real draw.
I definitely like this! -
I agree it's highly unlikely to happen. Just thought I'd put the idea out there while I still had it in my head. Though to be fair. As mentioned in my original post. The Wedding Pack didn't seem like it had much appeal but it still made it out there.
And yeah I usually have my Zune software running while I play but it's not so much the draw on the computer's resources that putting an ingame media player would take care of, it's the having to alt-tab whenever you want to skip a song or something.
For a quick example. Let's say you wanted to listen to Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin, you'd have to alt-tab out and look through your playlist for the song. Whereas if the player was tied into the game. All you'd have to do is:
/play Diary
**Now playing: Breaking Benjamin - Diary of Jane**
or say you know what number the song is in the playlist:
/play #21 (or whatever)
**Now playing: Breaking Benjamin - Diary of Jane**
The Jedi Academy program that gave me this idea has functionality to help if you have a number of songs that share the part of the title you're trying to play. Might be a good idea to put that in this too. So... say you type something like.
/play Call
**4 songs in playlist with title 'Call'**
/play Call Me When
**Now playing: Evenescence - Call Me When You're Sober**
And if you don't know the number of the song you want to play? Maybe add in a playlist functionality.
/playlist Might bring up a window listing off your playlist with their number beside them
Yeah I know... doesn't take much to alt-tab. But hey, what's one more thing to make us lazy? ;P -
Hey, longtime lurker here. (mainly cause it took me forever to realize "Hey! I need to use my GAME login info to get on") But anyways.
I had an interesting idea for a Booster Pack. I'm sure many people will wonder what the point is but I thought it might be fun, along the lines of the Wedding Pack (the pack has no real reason, just because).
I was thinking make it music themed.
I know a lot of people have been wanting guitars for War Mace or (if you stretch a bit) Battle Axe. So that's one idea. Probably have an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar (something based on the Stratocoaster would probably be the most accepted).
To be honest I can't think of much for 'costumes' since musicians seem to tend to wear the first thing that comes out of the closet. Though I guess this would be a good opportunity to add some nice all around clothes. New leather jackets, for example.
Emotes:
/e playguitarac - Character pulls out an acoustic guitar and begins strumming it Country music style.
/e playguitarel - Character pulls out an electric guitar and begins playing in an energetic Rock-n-Roll style.
/e drumset - alternative to the more tribal drums we have now with drum and drumlow. a drumset appears in front of the character and they hit various points on it [similar to how the pushup emote randomizes which animation it plays]
Some new, more detailed dances (along the lines of the robotdance). I've had friends mention they wouldn't mind having animations similar to the Guild Wars dances in CoH.
Alternatively (or including)
/e airguitar - Character does same animations as playguitarel except without the guitar model
/e airdrum - Character drums their hands as if playing the drums (/e drumset style) but don't have drums in front of them nor do they have drumsticks in hand.
As for extra feature that could be added (Cyborg had combat auras, Magic had Costume Change Emotes, Science had the Super Tailor) could add in an MP3 player functionality. Set up a playlist outside of your game and when in game with simple slash commands can manipulate it like any other media player.
/play *songtitle*
/pause
/nextsong
/prevsong
/vol%% (replace the %% with a number to manipulate volume levels, i.e. /vol67 to put the volume at 67% full)
/nowplaying (just as the name suggests, would tell you what song you're currently listening to)
Back when I played Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy there was a player made program that did just this. A music player you could control from within the game itself. And when you used one of the commands it would give you a message that only you could see to tell you what song is now playing or whatever.
If anyone else has anything to add please feel free to do so.Thanks for looking.
