  1. My Cold/Ice Defender has a level 50 jump TO in her Hurdle. I honestly don't remember where I got it from but one day I was looking through her enhancement management screen and saw it and was just confused as ****.

I plan to leave it in there just for laughs, no matter how many times I respec that level 50 TO will forever remain in Hurdle.
  2. I once was on a team in the Hollows looooong ago with an Ice Tank that will forever be remembered as the worst tank I've ever played with. Sure the Hollows are low levels and you don't have quite as many powers at that time. But this Ice Tank took ONE power from their Primary powerset (probably only because they had to to make the character) and NEVER TURNED IT ON!

    Oi.
  3. I tried getting my SG to start doing IC Facebook pages but so few people actually did it it didn't seem worthwhile.
  4. I know not many people here know me and may not know the character but maybe you've seen her around. Snow Panther has a Formspring now: http://www.formspring.me/SnowPanther

    Rikti: Gold

I'm a personal fan of Status: Trapped. Destination: Within: Precipitation. By R'vis. Or their other hit Numerical value: Seven.
  6. I've honestly never seen that big a drop in my effectiveness when exemplared that would lead me to believe we lost our set bonuses. Then again I'm not a min/maxer and don't pay that much attention to them anyways so apologies for my false claims. Carry on. :P
  7. Done.

Seriously. As far as I am aware your rant is pointless. IO bonuses are already available at lower levels. In fact all slots in a power are still active as long as that power is active. So for example earlier I did an Abandoned Sewer Trial on my level 50 Tank. Since the Trial is only up to level 40 I was exemplared to that level while still retaining my powers up 5 levels (so I had all my powers up to 45) This left out Combustion and Incineration for me. I couldn't use those powers so I wasn't getting the IO set bonuses from them, but I still kept all the other bonuses from all the other powers I had. This continues on downward all the way to level 1. If you get Exemplared to level 1 and have level 50 IOs in the powers you retain at that level they're still in effect. I can say this with pretty much 100% certainty because I have a level 50 Devastation: Chance for Hold proc in my Cold/Ice Defender's Ice Blast and have witnessed firsthand I'm still able to catch enemies with its hold no matter my level.

I don't see the problem here. Unless I am completely wrong about all of the above in which case I will welcome someone to say as such. I was told long ago it didn't matter the level of the IO or the level at which the enhancement slot was placed, all that mattered was the level that you gained said power at.
  8. I took some screenshots of Rularuu's grand appearance in Atlas Park. Wasn't able to find the happy couple to get their screenshots though.

The engine can handle Rularuu. Granted he doesn't exactly animate. But the tech for large things is there and I'm sure the engine is capable of giving some basic animations to something that large.

  10. Melanie already posted the error I'm getting. It just isn't wanting to work. And I've tried repeatedly. >.< I've been waiting for these auras and capes since the trailer.

Same here. I made my Cold/Ice Defender just because I got the DVD Edition. Wanted a reason to use Slide but if we got a skate sprint it would definitely be replacing slide.

What I would absolutely love is a permanent version of Snowball (Unfortunately the griefer danger would make this a bad idea. But my Cold/Ice Defender would love having it permanently.

As for the desire for Christmas decorations in bases. With a little creativity you can make them yourself:

Made this last year in my SG's lounge.
  12. I would drink every flavor in the first post on a daily basis. Yes... Every single one, every single day.

The other flavors I would try at least once. But I'm a sucker for dragonfruit, pomegranate, strawberry, banana... yeah I'm a sucker for like everything listed in those Mountain Dew flavors.
  13. Always a sucker for new artwork.

Might post more characters later but for now I'll contain myself and just post up one.

    Dust Walker

A look at her ingame appearance and headshots from the two pieces of artwork she already has.

    Edit: Adding full-body references:

k, found it, thought i'd add it to the rest of the costume. Hope i'm not stepping on toes or anything, just thought it might be a head design you may have overlooked or something

I like it! I may have to borrow that. I don't normally use the hats so I totally forgot that that ninja hood even existed.

Oh yeah I've done that before. After shields came out but before power customization. My character Flameblade was a Fire/Shield Scrapper I did that with.

And I think everyone has repurposed Kheldians as something else. Light based attacks, shadow based attacks. The brother of my Cold/Ice Defender is a NWS [Not-Warshade] who has powers to create black holes and wormholes and manipulate gravity in various other ways.

Thanks! Dusty's been one of my favorites of my characters since her creation. And she's one of the ones I get the most compliments on. So proud ^.^ I've even had people come up to me on their own sand characters saying I inspired them.

A city only has so big a budget. And with all the rebuilding after the villains destroy everything, some things have to be cut back.

Seriously though. I would love this. My cold/ice Defender who I often take to the fires would look cute with a fireman helmet.

  18. Dust Walker - Storm Summoning/Dark Blast Defender - Has the ability to generate and manipulate sand, so all her powers are colored a tannish-brown to appear as sand. Was my first use of power customization on day one of I16 going live.

Spirit Kat - Kinetic Melee/Dark Armor Stalker - An Air Manipulator with a twist. Her powers are all colored a light grey, so Kin Melee is the Air Manipulation, but the Dark Armor (and the ability to Hide) represent her ability to convert her entire being into a gaseous state while still retaining consciousness and awareness of her surroundings.

Magic Minx - Illusion Control/Radiation Emission Controller - A stage magician and magic-based hero. Her style to take out criminals involves a combination of illusions and misdirection (Illusion Control) and actual magic spells (Radiation Emission). Her powers were recolored to be a light blue with some purple highlights.

I also have a couple of characters who I made their powers more in character than anything. Not really having much to do with power customization (Though some of them have used power customization).

Dragonfly. - Willpower/Fire Melee Tanker - (made years ago, after we got wings, long before power customization) A mutant with an array of different mutations. On top of pyrokinesis she also has a large number of defensive abilities: Hardened skin (Skin hardens to a near diamond-like consistency a fraction of a second before any harmful impact), Regeneration, and an inability to feel pain.

Bluff - Katana/Regeneration Scrapper - A security specialist and consultant with almost perfect shapeshifting capabilities. I say her shapeshifting allows her to heal her own wounds quickly. Her real powers are more represented by the fact I copied a bunch of signature characters to the best of my ability for her 4 extra costume slots.

Velo-CD - Radiation Blast/Energy Manipulation - Sort of a Dazzler inspired character. Her powers are fueled by music, not really much else to say there.

Gamer Girl - If you ever saw the first 'Who Wants To Be A Superhero' and know who Feedback is, you'll get a bit of an understanding of her powers. She's able to mimic the abilities of characters in games she plays. So far I've made an FPS (Dual Pistol/Electric Manipulation Blaster) and Fighter (Martial Arts/Electric Armor Scrapper) versions, depending on what genre of game she plays (I also planned to make an RPG version but ran out of slots at the time). Both have Super Speed as well (Sonic the Hedgehog anyone? :P)

Ice Lynx - Dual Pistols/Ice Manipulation Blaster and Dual Pistols/Cold Domination Corruptor (couldn't decide on one so since I got Dual Pistols early for prepurchasing I made the Blaster first in Paragon City and then the Corruptor to play through Praetoria). When playing in character on her I always use Cryo Ammo as she uses her powers to create bullets made of pure ice. Penetrating power of a bullet with no evidence to leave behind.

And those are all the ones I've made who bend the powersets a little :P Sorry for the long post.

    TL;DR version: I'm an altoholic.

    GR beta question

My computer doesn't want to download the 3.7 gig file without corrupting within 5 minutes of starting the download and suddenly shutting off. The only way I'm gonna be able to get in is via the test server. Hoping that 600-something mb patch I downloaded on there is what I think it is. If not, well, Hope everyone has fun in Praetoria.
  21. Energy Morph's cce prompt isn't ccenergymorph. I have yet to figure out what the actual command is.
  22. I have every edition and booster for this game and I say yes to this!

I buy these things the day they go in the store cause I'm a completionist like that >.> But I do realize there's a lot of people out there who just can't afford to get every one no matter how much they want them. One of my closest friends has only been able to buy the Magic and Valkyrie packs and I know she would love the opportunity to get some of the others.

I think maybe what they could do is offer up packs of two or three for a cheaper price. Considering there's the Architect Edition out there that lets you choose either the Cyborg or the Magic pack, if they offered both at once for less than the Architect Edition sells for I think they'd lose money there. So my proposition is doing a half and half deal. If they do something like this:

    Booster 3 packs: $25

    Booster 3 pack A:
    Cyborg
    Science
    Mutant

    Booster 3 pack B:
    Magic
    Martial Arts
Wedding (Only in here since we don't have a 6th origin pack yet :P)

Valkyrie and Good vs. Evil can stay separate since they come special with editions already. The 6 above are sold separately (except, as stated, with the Arch-Ed, but that gives a choice)
  23. It's not that we can't use a third party program like WinAmp, Realplayer, whatever.

It's just an option. This argument is practically the same as going to someone who just bought a new MP3 player and asking them why they couldn't just buy a 3 year old MP3 player. Why? Because they didn't want to. They wanted the new one. Simple as that. People who want an ingame music player want an ingame music player.

I would like to point out though that I actually had two system-wide crashes occur just today while I was alt-tabbing out of City of Heroes. Only crashes that occurred today and they only occurred when I was in the game and held alt and pressed tab. So that kind of throws the whole alt-tabbing is safe reasoning out the window.
  24. This thread on the Virtue server brought about some really awesome redesigns:
    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=210488
(The contest is over now of course but all of the costume designs are still up to look at. And there are some great concepts.)

Here were the ones I came up with:

For him I figured we shouldn't take him too far from his original but could still add some details. Such as the Valkyrie helmet to add some wings to his outfit. What American hero could be complete without wings?

    Sister Psyche:

Psyche's deciding to cover up some but we couldn't take away ALL the eye candy. The fishnets of the top serve to tease without putting out on display.

    Positron:

Positron's suit is looking a little sleeker but retains functionality. Not much else to say.

    Back Alley Brawler:

BABs has never been one for flashy. Except of course in his gloves, but of course his fist is the last thing you'll see before getting laid out anyways. A leather jacket that screams bad*** and some longer hair complete this "You might as well lock yourself up, it'll be less painful" look.

    Manticore:

Manticore seemed a little underprotected for someone without any powers. So adding some padding and a flak jacket should provide a little more defense in those tough situations.

    Synapse:

A look that, in my opinion, is a little more sleek than the last one. Is the red on his shoes supposed to be there? Or is the friction starting to turn up the heat? You decide.

    Numina:

Numina's look as always been, in my opinion, one of the better looks of the Phalanx. We just HAD to stick with robes, albeit a slightly different design to them. Some high heels prove that Numina has a feminine side but that wild hair had to go, replaced with something nicer and more managed.

    Citadel:

Citadel is just an all around powerhouse, and his redesign had to show that. Some bulked up armor some upgrades to power management and he could take on Recluse's circle himself!

Hope you guys like em I may come back with more later if I get around to it.
