  1. Glad to see that necromancy was in place long before i6.
  2. This reminds me of the issue of some people (I'm among them) wanting the option to log out to the character select/server select screen but being told that retyping my password is at most a few seconds of annoyance. And I respond in kind here, finding the newest post is just a few seconds of annoyance (and it doesn't bother me in the slightest either).

But interestingly enough, what does bother me is that in the old forums, if I was reading a thread on a second or third page of a subforum, clicking on that subforum's name at the top sent me back to the page the thread was located at. Here, it sends me back to the first page. For whatever reason, I find that irritating.

  4. Hmmm.. my ultimate concept build would be:

Broadsword/Shield/Dark Miasma for a current character who is an Axe/Shield/Soul Mastery brute. Although it definitively could be Broadsword/Dark Miasma (two handed sword for a brutality aspect instead of a sword/shield knight aspect). I'd love to try out a psychic blast(defender version)/storm summoning corruptor.
  5. Quad Bow Blast Corruptor

On a more serious note, I'd love for this assault set to become a reality for dominators:

    1) Pistols
    2) Storm Kick
    3) Dual Wield
    4) Crippling Axe Kick
    5) Build Up
    6) Dragon's Tail
    7) Empty Clips
    8) Crane Kick
    9) Eagle's Claw

Animated in such a way that the Martial Arts powers do not remove the guns from the pistol attacks.

Or a Dark Assault set to go along with Illusion (please! If you can port Plant Control to heroes, port Illusion to Dominators)

    1) Dark Blast
    2) Smite
    3) Shadow Maul
    4) Gloom
    5) Siphon Life
    6) Tenebrous Tentacles
    7) Dark Consumption
    8) Moonbeam
    9) Midnight Grasp
  6. Lady Jaguara, Axe/Shield/Soul Mastery Brute:

    Fallen elf hero.

Elite Dreadnaught, Dual Blades/Elec Armor/Mu Mastery Brute:

    Demonic warrior priestess.

Deathcall Warlock, Fire Blast/Radiation Emission Corruptor:

Same race of demons as the Elite Dreadnaught.

Phantom Howl, Sonic Blast/Cold Domination Corruptor:

    Werewolf shaman from another dimension.

Plague Dirge, Radiation Blast/Sonic Resonance Corruptor:

    Plain ol' human bard.

  7. Lady Jaguara

She was an elf hero, protector of the weak, defender of justice, and a paragon of virtues. Though she was weak and new to this world, she tried her hardest to help others. She slowly but diligently made her new life here, she met a new love who was a fellow hero. One night they took to the streets of Paragon City like usual. They had been contacted psychically and they had been asked for help. Little did they know that the Circle of Thorns had been studying Jaguara and her mystical prowess.

They trapped both heroes, bound Jaguara and tortured her love in front of her until his death. But they had a fate worse than that for her. They kept her spirit alive despite tearing her body to pieces. They extended how she felt time, and the week they had her felt like an eternity to her. They broke her spirit, rebuilt her body simply to destroy it again. After some heroes had been gaining in on this cell of the Circle, they moved to the Rogue Isles.

There, they didn't last long. Ghost Widow felt the pain, the despair in Jaguara. She sent her Widows on a hunt that she personally assisted in. Having freed Jaguara from her captors, Jaguara vowed her allegiance to her phantasmal savior. While Jaguara was a capable and honorable fighter with the ability to heal the wounded, she became a knight with twisted ideals. She fights to spread the despair she felt, to keep the weak from uprising, and to serve her dark Lady in all that she can. Her healing powers withered and Ghost Widow was more than willing to teach her new grave knight some of her soul mastery. One thing that Lady Jaguara knows is that she will bring vengeance upon the heroes that she feels abandoned her and let her love die.

    I16 Closed Beta

Posting something completely unrelated. Thanks to being linked to BaBs twitter page, I now know he plays Civ4. I just want to make a quick comment, civ4 is evil and fun. I played a game on Noble as the Japanese (Tokugawa) in a Huge map intent on winning by conquering the world in the era of the samurai. I ended up winning in 1990 something by getting to Alpha Centuri first. Ahh, how you can change history.

Now my searchfu is severely lacking combined with defunct dev digest, I can't find this information anywhere on the forums that isn't linked back to Twittter. I'm probably jumping the gun here, but I'm not liking this trend.
The first part I can't say, I don't look at the Community Digest quite as much as the Dev Digest (but I believe Castle or another dev clarified that i16 closed beta had indeed started) but the character creator being blocked off I *did* ready about here via a post made by Castle. I find that using the temporary dev digest stickied at the top of this forum helps.

  13. -Elite Dreadnaught might look at it funny (she's from another dimension afterall) and ignore it.
-Deathcall Warlock would sacrifice it to his god.
-Scarlet Needle would take it in, she has a soft spot for all animals.
-Cruel Permafrost would subject it to various different scientific procedures, you know, injecting a random bio sample here, a new drug there.
-Tempest Jester would force it to smile, with electricity and fire. Well, he does that to everyone. He might keep an eye or an ear, he needs to give gifts afterall.
-Webmistress Elhaym would ignore it. Same for my other three SoAs.
-Dread Fey would shoot at it with one of her trick arrows or try and scare it or generally have fun at its expense. If it happens to die, she'll simply make it a zombie.

    Seriously.
As a native speaker of Spanish (and near native of English), I can tell you that the differences between European Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Central American Spanish, and South American Spanish is greater than that between European, American, and Australian English.

Try this on for size, Spaniards use a verb tense that doesn't even *exist* in Mexican Spanish. South American and European Spanish each have a unique *pronoun* with its own set of conjugations that Mexican Spanish does not have, well at least the Spaniard one does, not so sure about the South American (Mexican Spanish has no unique pronoun of its own).
  17. Is it wrong of me to be more excited about i16 and hoping to get into its beta instead of Going Rogue? Of course, that may have more to do with me only have one for-sure switcher (my Warshade) and whatever other hero AT I finally feel like trying with good content. But changing my powers' colors? Oh yeah, that opens up so many possibilities!
  18. Whips would be amazing, it could be added to both melees and ranged characters after MMs! Even better, I'd be willing to compromise on not getting my MA/Pistol Dominator Assault set for a Pistol/Whip set!
  19. I'm somewhat active on another board that uses the reputation system and as far as I could tell, it does absolutely nothing.
  20. I immediately switched to the villain skin (I couldn't stand the old hero one and the new one even less) and the lighter shade of red is not as disappointing as I thought it'd be. Also, clicking on a link no longer takes me to the version that the linker uses, which was a huge headache in the old forums.

Why don't you try the rather simple and easy Teotihuacan? Tenochtitlan? Really, how hard could it possibly be that it's butchered every time I hear someone try to pronounce it? Don't even get me started on Kaminaljuyu.

But anyways, it's rather obvious what the answer is to stop quarreling, and this is because there is no section for this so I came to the conclusion that we all need to empezar a hablar en Español.

Fulcrum Shift as it is, is the big payoff for slogging through over 30 levels of mediocrity. Not having that to look forward to could easily kill off any remaining motivation to play a /kin Controller ever again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As IanTheM said, don't become too attached to this. Psionic Assault's Psionic Shockwave is getting nerfed, despite the fact that Dominators have to go through 37 levels of suckiness for the big payoff. So with your view, there's no more reason to level a /Psi Assault dominator?
  23. Hmm.. people say they can't tell the difference between redside zones? I'll list the blueside zones I've been to:

    Atlas Park
    Galaxy City
    Steel Canyon
    Skyway City
    Striga Isle
    Independence Port
    Talos Island

Of those, as long as I'm not over water, I can't tell which zone I'm in, with the exception of Skyway City. All the rest? Sterile repeated environments. If I am over water, then it just reduces the mystery of which boring zone I'm in to three choices, Striga, Talos, or Independence port. It doesn't leave much room for excitement for the other zones I have to get to.

Also, the contacts? If I were to create another hero, I wouldn't know which contact I'd like to repeat, because I already forgot their faces, names, and missions. Talk about dull story telling. Sure, CoV may lack choices, but at least it has choices I find *memorable*. I can be sure that Dmitriv Krylov and Peter Themari won't give me the same missions and that to me, is a very good thing. Compared to say, Dr. Cheng and Laura Brunetti who both give out the following missions:
    Defeat Circle in Talos island
Defeat the Circle in Independence Port
Defeat the Pantheon in Independence Port
Defeat the Circle in Dark Astoria
Defeat the Pantheon in Dark Astoria

Sure some people may see that as 10 different missions because different contacts give them out, but to me, it's 5 different missions at most. I'd say it's more like 2, with a change of scenery.

Pretty much a description of the most terrifying stronghold of evil I've seen in any MMO: Sanctus Seru back in EverQuest's Luclin expansion. The place made you feel like you'd get guardkilled if you stepped on the grass.

"Welcome to Sanctus, such a perfect town...."

    [/ QUOTE ]

That place was indeed evil, I still remember getting lost in the endless, unadorned, white halls and teleporters. While having worked for Katta Castellum before hand . Thankfully, I was on my Beastlord and could survive quite well against the guards, but my god was it a long and arduous trek to get back to the gates that lead to Marus Seru.
