    no set mules

    [/ QUOTE ]
Same comment here. Set mules are just a tool. Mind you, I hate them too, but if your build will be stronger with a mule than without one, why does it matter?

Or are we adding restrictions like this the same way that we solo AVs without inspirations - because it's harder?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You could look at it as a challenge. The real reason everytime I work on a build and I start putting powers in id never use and putting slots in said power or putting more slots in a power that i dont feel is needed other then set bonuses, it bugs me to no end almost like a waist. Its more of a pet peeve. that and knocking back my target when palying one of my scrappers. Every alt i make, I like to have a wide variety of useful powers. Thats why the scrapper epics, or lack there of, bug me so. In any case, if im pumping my alt with with powers I wont use, I wont have room for the fun stuff. There shouldnt be just one way to reach peek performance.
  2. Now i feel like watching Advent Children before I go to bed.

A combo system like Dual Blades would be nice! + Maybe a cone kick like (sands of Mu)....ooooo, nasty! LOL More knockdown than knock back!

    [/ QUOTE ]
I can see all the Chung Li knock offs running around atlas park just because of that.

Warrior's Challenge -> Confront from Katana/Dual blades, but with no sword.

I like that. *points* "Your kung fu not strong!"

    All scrapper STF

They didnt know about the STF bug!! 0.o Dang it. I need to learn how to make links.
  5. Speed TFs are a way of life for some. Sigh.. I miss those days.

...contention held by another friend that..

"No Scrapper is ever better at surviving than any Tanker".

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Hahahahaaha!

Tankers are much better at surviving in general, but there's definitely an overlap area when you're comparing scrankers with DPS tanks.

(edit: By a similar token, some blasters are more survivable than some scrappers.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think his point was given the same defensive powerset (ie: sd to sd, da to da). Otherwise, I have some faceplanting tankers to introduce him to that aren't quite built for the 54 boss farms my scrappers run.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ohh boss farms. My plant/rad troller runs those like a walk in perez park.

Back on subject, if you slot a SD/DM tank the same way you slot a DM/SD scrapper as close as you can with some obvious exceptions (taunt) to get the same numbers, ie def soft cap, seemless attack chains, blah blah, blah... Both would excel. The tank would live longer and the scrapper would kill faster. Normaly resault in living longer as well. So the scrapper would survive because he kills faster then the tank. Even though it would take the tank longer to kill, he would still survive. Here is the twist. Could the scrapper survive if it took as long for it to kill the same mob as it did the tank? Let's say it was a... hmm lvl 52 L T farm. (stupid blackberry keeps putting the time in when I put "L" and "T" together)

    Soft Cap - Myth?

Yup. Widow's HP base sucks monkey gas. I'm still trying to figure out how to get it at least to the stalker cap. I think they are like brute in they way you can't cap them with IOs.
  8. Well, ill say it like this. When I play with certain scrappers, I have the attitude, "we don't need a tank. I'm here." That's just how some are built. However, even with saying that, I can be on one of my tanks, be in the middle of a mob, put taunt on auto and go afk and come back and everybody on the team is still alive. I can't stand in a mob with my scrapper like that and expect the same thing. Well, not for as long. And mind you, so far, I've put more work into my scrappers IO build and my tank still has lvl 25 common IOs
  9. I do not like taking the fighting pool on any AT. They take too much end and, alone, they are worthless. If you can soft cap without it, that's 3 powers open to allow you take some fun powers. I do see how tough can help with "luck shot". But that's what aid self is for.
  10. Rieze

    Soft Cap - Myth?

Them "lucky shots" can ruin your day. I was fighting a crey tank boss and a gunslinger boss with my widow. Elude and mind link going ,mind you. I get hit with a total focus followed by getting shot by the slinger. No defense de buffs, they shot threw elude. I might as well of had my toggles off the funny part is that I had just clicked a glowie with them aggroed. Heh
  11. Spines/wp scrapper or wp/fire/pyre tanker. Granted, wp doesn't offer dmg buffs but its the perfect set to keep the party going.

No breath of fire? But... But I like spitting fire... I can spit fire in their eye and they won't see crap. How's that? How about AS be spitting out one huge ball of fire? Mmm fire/nin

    [/ QUOTE ]

Only if a disembodied voice says, "TOASTY!" when you kill someone with that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lmao!! I wasn't even thinking about MK. I was thinking about sauske's "katon: fireball jutsu", when the idea came to my head. Like elec reminds me of "chidori". I need to stop watching naruto lol

Wouldn't fire Stalkers be loverly? I'd like it to be proliferated. Something like this:

    Scorch
    Fire Sword
    Cremate
    Assassin's Flames
    Build Up
    Placate
    Fire Sword Circle
    Incinerate
    Greater Fire Sword

  14. I know that 8 seconds is so annoying. I had moonbeam on my claw/dark/soul stalker. It did some pretty good dmg and was sweet for the AV pull in lgtf. I also had sting of manti 6 slotted so the proc may of had something to do the dmg it did. I respeced out because they added shadow meld and that's was more usefull to dark armor then a situational attack. One question. With all of the missions fighting heroes, why do you only have 2 KB protection IOs? That's one point less then acrobatics that still gets KBed by ballistas when its running?
  15. After looking at ALL of the powers shield has, the theme doesn't fit to me. Not with the look but with the way some of the powers work. AaO, grant cover, and PF. AaO is obvious but GC and PF are team based powers and require you to fight close for them to work the way they are supposed to. Those powers are largely skipped or taken late by others as is. Stalkers work in the shadows not on the front lines shield to shield with everybody else. Not to mention only being able to use it with 3 sets. But shield charge from hide sounds fun. That would be the only fun part about the set as it is if on a stalker.
  16. Ill re work it when I get home. I took zap for def bonuses and for the fact that a full slotted snipe while hidden buffed with build up is a beautiful site. I will loose the fighting and leadership pool and move the res/def IO. Hmm I wonder if I will be able to work in ball lighting.
  17. I put together this elec/nin stalker with soft cap def out of hide. The problem is something doesnt feel right. im not sure if is an attack chain flow or end management or what. I just put it together on mids and not even close to building it in game yet. But normaly, when i do this i feel like i got it right. I dont have that feeling about this build.

  18. I was thinking the same thing when I first tried MA. All kicks is boring. Air sups animation doesn't seem to fit what you are going for. Neither does boxing. IMO, due to that, the gimp isn't worth it. Flurry seems like it would fit in better but I really can't sign on taking that over a prime neither.
  19. How about a BS/WP with soft cap defense (type), no set mules, a seemless high dps attack chain, has to have SoW, and come within 100 of the hit point cap. Epics and fighting pool and leadership pools are cool as long as powers are slotted and will be of actual use. I will not have use for boxing or kick so they would be considered set mules. And no purples or PVP IOs. My alts are poor and everything elese can be gotten with merits.
  20. Broad Sword. Its not fast but so what. How fast do you need to be when just about every attack takes chunks out of the health? And the draw back and "smack" animation of head splitter followed by someone's body bouncing off the ground is epic. Let's not forget when it hits more then one!

You can get the atlas medallion in a day. Go to striga island and one shot the wolves and vamps, go to ourobos and do the rescue the fortune teller mission, jump to the top of the statue of atlas in atlas park, then read the history plaques. Look the paragonwiki for the locations. The easiest of the 4 to get.

Agreed. That seals the deal for me too.

Villain side, if I start working on the accolades, they will never get rerolled. The only time I even go into a pvp zone is to get the accolades, why would i reroll after spending 5 hours in Sirens Call or a day and a half logged in resting while a minion hits me to get 10million points of damage.

Those can be done while you are sleep. Start an ourobos arc and you won't get logged off.
Back on topic, I deleted my lvl 50 fire/fire/pyre tanker. I didn't have the IO knowledge I have now and I had run out of spce on virtue when i11 went live. I had end issues even with stamina and consume. The last straw was when I needed help with maria jenkins arc because I couldn't solo them without running out of end like I was in my pre 20s. 7 toggles and sprint. Will Power was calling me. I had already used my last slots to roll my DB/WP brute and my DM/WP scrapper the day i11 went live. So... I re rolled that toggle heavy end hog to a WP/fire/pyre. That was my 2nd alt made and 3rd to 50. Its lvl 50 now but, as I said before in another thread, I'm never doing that again.
