  1. I have a vast patience for repetitive tasks ... my 'purely Praetorian' character just hit 48 last night. First Ward's arcs got me to level 27 and then the repeatable missions got me to 29 when the Night Ward arcs start. Night Ward arcs only got me to 34
    ...

So, on to repeatable missions there ... Sir Lionel & Atherton Cromwell will still give missions trough level 40 ... but they stop at level 41. Trilogy & Fireball will give missions through level 50, but collectively they only got me to level 43. -sigh-

Then I had a thought (a somewhat rare occasion, I'll freely admit) - I have a level 40 on an old secondary account that's now a Premium account. So, I fired up both accounts & teamed the 2 characters up & could still get missions from Cromwell & Atherton on the level 40. I turned xp off on the level 40 and have been running the repeatable missions since then.

Yes ... it's a bit tedious ... but ... I'm determined to get this guy to 50 & I have enough Astral merits saved up on other characters to get the Alpha unlock & shards-by-mail to craft a common Alpha.

I really want to see if I can sucker ... err ... convince some folks to assemble some iTrials in pocket D so I can have a level 50 incarnated Praetorian run them.

Yes ... I am that easily amused (and that hard to bore.)

  2. 1. Qubit (@DarkGob) Level 50 Bots/Dark Mastermind
    2. Billy Mailman (@Billy Mailman) Level 50 Elec/Elec Blaster
    3. Freeze Mk-3 (@Reverand Clint) Level 50 Ice/Storm Controller

Ok, I hadn't seen the Villain side TUNNEL specialists before ... but they still should not be replacing the mobs in-mission.

Also, an update: After I went further into the mission I started seeing these as well:

    Vanguard with Praetorian Guard boots?
  4. Running through Katie Douglas' arc in First Ward today I entered the 'Investigate D-SEC' mission to find the some of the Awakened had been replace by non-target-able Carnival of Light and ... well ... these guys.

    o.O

    &

Crey Protector back-packs, Arachnos Spider chests & Scrapyarder Demolitionist masks?

    Weird ... and broken.
  5. There is an additional 'proc' effect on the +KD/KB-to-KD enhancement ... it sometimes does an extra visual effect. The effect is an explosion of sparks? & fires off at a separate rate from the +KD effect ... any attack by the power with the enhancement can get the visual even if the KD doesn't fire. It is a little tricky to see (for me at any rate.)
  6. My drop rate is also a bit off, tho it does seem to be slowly normalizing.

    22 runs (I don't get bored easily)

    2 - Acc/Dmg
    4 - End/Rech
    7 - Acc/Dmg/End
    2 - Dmg/End/Rech
    3 - Acc/Dmg/End/Rech
    4 - proc

    It's the A/D/E that's out-of-skew for me ... that's what my first 6 all were.
  7. As a level 2, the Tram Station to Oro won't work ... he's below the minimum level to actually go to Oro.

So ... apart from using the SG Base TP power (iirc the base portal isn't in Galaxy any more), joining a team in another zone & using the Mission TP power, or street sweeping to level 3 & using the Pocket D TP (& I'm not sure you can w/out actually leveling to level 3 first) ... he's stuck in old Galaxy.

You could petition & have a GM move you to Atlas tho.
  8. I updated my secondary account with the 99 cent VIP kit this morning & when I logged the account in the 400 points were already there ... the reward token won't come 'till the end of the VIP month.
  9. I tend to have a lot of trays open ... -shrug-

  10. When I initially fell through the floor I was in Black Dwarf form and was attempting to teleport next to Tub Ci to fire off the Black Dwarf Mire - next thing I know I'm falling (down about 300 yards.) I switch the Dark Nova to fly back up and bump my head on the ceiling/floor - which is just below the walking surface of the original room. I could, in a few spots, get the camera angle just right and see that there was a separate surface that Tub Ci & crew were standing on that was about a cursor height above the surface I was under.

I managed to deliberately jam myself into a hollow console along the wall and then /stuck worked to get me back to the map entrance while I was waiting for a GM to show. Went back to the room to finish with Tub Ci & that's when I found he was 130+yards up above the ceiling - I never could find how he got up there.
  11. Well, it happened again ... on a Peacebringer this time.

I'm thinking that's the key ... after the cut scene ends, a Void Seeker spawns in the middle of the npcs - who immediately turn and annihilate him. That's moving them out of their 'being eaten' spot and thus they don't get 'eaten' and are there for the rest of the mission.

The whole gang was there this time ... the Dream Doctor, Tub Ci, Ajax (who is most definitely not indestructable), Protean, Tielekku and (2)! Sciroccos!

Protean & his 'absorb all your toys' power firing off.

    And Finished ... again. :/
  12. Hello all!

I had an odd night last night ...

(Warning: there may be spoiler-ish info below ...

    ...

    so

    ...

If you haven't actually run the new Dark Astoria arcs look away

    Just look away)

First, during the 'Defeat Tub Ci & recover the Godslayer Sword' mission from the Dream Doctor I fell trough the floor in the final room.

That's Tub Ci & his Ancestor Spirit guards up there (all of whom I could still attack ... so ... actually kind of handy.)

The room goes down a loooooong way & has this at the bottom ... odd, but kind of interesting none the less.

After I defeated his guards & damaged Tub Ci to the point where he powers up, he went nuts trying to get to me ... and wound up stuck over the ceiling ... -sigh- ... So, after a GM arrived & tossed me up into the ceiling as well & I finally defeated Tub Ci, I took a look around up there as well.

It goes up a dang long way like that ... just full of cat-walks around an open center.

Later that night, in the finale of the first part of the Dream Doctor's arc, after the cut scene I discovered that Tielekku didn't get eaten after all ... o.o ... an instead stuck around to help fight off the ambushes.

That's me as in Black Dwarf form.

Now, she wouldn't follow me and would always return to her starting position after a fight ... so ... I just pulled the ambush mobs to her. Hey, you've got a Goddess handy, you may as well let her kill stuff.

Apparently she's a Fire/ ? blaster ... Flares & Fireballs like mad ... & she spent most of the time trying to stand back up (which says Blaster like nothing else does.)

    And finished ...
  13. I would also like to know how to not see Statesman's crotch at every log-in.

    Thanks!
  14. Another thing to consider ... if you run a SSA twice each week you can select 10 Threads as one reward and 1 Astral Merit as the second reward and the Astral Merit can be converted into 4 threads.
20 threads make a common component and 60 make an uncommon. Also, the first time you run any particular SSA you can pick a reward of your choice without affecting the weekly timer ... so ... run the 5 parts that are out now and any one of them a second time and you'll get 60 threads. After that first run of each arc you'll only be able to get the 10 threads once per week tho.

That's how I've been equipping my incarnate powers ... you can use the Astral Merit vendor in Oro to convert an Astral Merit into 4 threads for any level 50 on your account. So, 5 level 50s all running SSA part 1 (the fastest one solo) once a week earn 5 Astral Merits, which gets 20 threads on any one level 50 each week - which is a common component.

It's not anywhere close to as fast as running the incarnate trials ... but if you only solo it's the fastest way until issue 22 hits.

You will get sick of running the same SSA over & over & over tho ... :/
  15. You can't rely on the lava to take out anything in the final mission of the first arc anymore. All the mobs in both hero & villain versions have been made immune to the lava damage ... & the EB still loves to run off & wade around in it, which makes it trickier now for melee toons.
  16. Thanks for the thoughts everyone. Based on what everyone has said, I'll pass on the processor switch then.

System wise I've got 6GB of ram , a 2TB drive (7200rpm sata3) and an ATI Radeon HD 5770 (1GB) ... I have shadows off, AO off (never could tell a difference with it turned on - apart from a frame rate drop) and water & reflections at medium ... and I get 50+fps everywhere (apart from at the Zombie events & other lag fests ... & even then it's never dropped below 20fps.)

I sometimes have a second instance running for my alt account (mainly to transfer IOs stored in one SG base to characters in a differant SG & for SG invites for new characters when no one else in the SG is online) & I was wanting to reduce the lag that causes. But based on everyone's thoughts, I don't think the CPU switch out would help much.

Again, thanks everyone for the replies.
  17. I was just wanting to have few folk opinions on a possible CPU switch out I might be doing.

Would it be worth the effort to replace the Intel Pentium Dual Core E5300 (2.60GHz, 2MB Cache, 800MHz FSB) with an Intel Pentium Dual Core E5800 (3.20GHz, 2MB Cache, 800MHz FSB)?

I know neither is very cutting edge or impressive, but I'm on a fixed budget and the E5800 is only $75 (and is the fastest processor my motherboard can actually take.)

So, would the performance be enough of an increase to make up for the hassle of a CPU swap or should I just not bother?

    Thanks all!
  18. I had already gotten the Scavenger day-job badge and when I returned to First Ward, after finishing a run through the SSA1.1 & having forgotten to phone in (leaving me exemp'd down to level 20), the only day-job buff icon that would appear was for Scavenger. I was working on Psychologist but when I entered the area around the Mother of Mercy Hospital no Psychologist buff icon appeared & the buff icon for Scavenger disappeared (as it should.)
So, the system 'knew' I was in the MoM area but would not give the proper day-job credit.
I flew around First Ward and saw that it was the same with all the other non-Scavenger day-job locations (ie I'd have Scavenger buff-earning icon showing until I entered another day-job location & then no buff-earning icon would be present at all.)
After getting owned by a seedling I discovered I was still exemp'd to level 20 (and my self-rez was greyed out.)
I phoned in to finish the SSA and thought, "Hmm ... maybe that was it" , and went back to the roof of the MoM Hospital & the Psychologist buff-earning icon then appeared.
So ... odd ... and mostly my fault for not noticing that I hadn't phoned in ... but still ... probably not quite working as intended.
  19. Quick note: If you are exemplard down for any reason (Oro Flashback, on a Taskforce, on a lower level tem, etx) you MAY not get day-job credit.

I forgot to phone in after a SSA run & only the First Ward - Scavenger day-job would have the 'earn day-job credit' power show up (& it would disappear in other First Ward day-job location) until I noticed I was still level 20 & phoned in to finish the SSA. After I did that the 'earn day-job credit' powers showed up like they were supposed to.
  20. I'm with darksilver on this - it's not a global morality reset. I just ran 10 characters through & 8 had the option to get hero/villain merits.
The 8 that were able to get the A-Merit have their alignment power & have gotten A-Merits before. Of the other 2 characters, one just switched to villain & hasn't run a second morality mission to unlock A-Merits (but does have frenzy) & the other character has never run any tips (but was able to get A-Merits before the new patch - still has 3 Villain Merits from earlier runs.)
  21. It's not quite as easy as it used to be ... he finally realizes he has the Synapse Lighting Blast power & uses it as soon as it recharges if he can't reach you.

Also, it feels like they've tweaked his AI to not run willy-nilly into the lava quite as much any more ... but that may be just me.
  22. I've had a similar problem since Freedom launched.
The store will not accept my Discover card as a payment method for points, even tho that's the card the account is billed to. Trying to re-enter the information in the store's 'update billing information' always results in a pop-up saying that the card number/cvv is invalid for that card type even though I have the card in hand and have triple checked the info (& yes, I do have Discover selected as the card type.)

Yet I can enter the same info on the website account management & it accepts it there fine.

So I wound up buying points via PayPal ... using that same Discover card that the store just won't acknowledge. :/

So ... no advice for you other than that you're not alone in the store's wonky-ness.
  23. I can repeat this every time with a /Kinetics controller. Siphon Speed a mob outside of a mission door then enter the mission - Siphon Speed takes at least an extra two minutes to recharge (as long as 15 minutes once!)
  24. He's a Nemesis replicant.

    No...

    Really

    He is a Nemesis Replicant.

This is very true ... over the Winter event my Ice/Ice tanker was running the Lady Winter mission at +3,x6 with bosses turned on and I was getting 3 to 8 shards per 30 minute run through. (not actually fighting Lady winter ... just clearing the mobs with bosses and multiple Lts)

Running my Ice/Storm controller at +1,x2 with bosses on I was only getting at best 1 shard per run through.

The biggest difference between the two characters was the much greater number of bosses the tank fought vs the multiple Lts the controller faced.

(So more bosses worked well, for me at any rate.)
