I think some of those groups simply got renamed. Twilight Men may very well have become Malta, since Malta is not mentioned in the video.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Twilight men were malta.

Pretty sure Killing Crew became Sky Raiders. There is a list somewhere out there.

Just basing this off of common usage.

Common usage doesn't make a slur (if it is a slur) any less a slur.

I just wanna let you guys know I'm drunk right now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Your clarity in typing implies you are not drunk enough.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'd have to be drunk, high, missing several fingers and having major concussion before I started making typos. English freak.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Drunk typing can be very... disarming in some games.

On his birthday, when we both still played... I could of sworn my friend was using some language my character didn't know in EQ.

I assume the Going Rogue boxed expansion may well be like Architect Edition in that it comes with the original game as well, so new players only have to buy one box, and others can get a fully updated version of the game discs to save reinstalling or a long download.

    This is entirely guesswork.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Q & A says it will require you have CoH/V.
  5. [ QUOTE ]

Later, I saw a GM's response to my e-mail. It basically said that I should move to another zone, work on other missions, etc. So yeah, "kill-stealing" isn't really actionable, either, even if it is harassing. But really, I don't care that much. As far as irritating things go, this is way down towards the bottom of the list.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Did you complain about Kill Stealing, or did you complain that despite repeated attempts to get the other party to stop, the harassment continued, in your petition?

Not to mention the survey was from October of 2008...haha, sorry to burst your "been working on it a long time!" bubble, CandE.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just because something was in that survey doesn't mean it's in Going Rogue.

And Aggie - the survey might of been from 08, but they've been wanting to do it since 06/07.

    La-dee-da!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, that is not what qualifies as a stealth edit. To do that, in addition to acting like you didn't in your post, you have to uncheck the "mark this post as edited" box above the "Add signature to this post" box
  8. Awww, Stever saw where he goofed, and deleted his post, making me feel obliged to do the same. And I had quotes, bolding, power point and EVERYTHING! :P

Not necessarily. The only people who would know whether the updater could reliably work without the applying process are the devs. It isn't a given that a torrent system would remove that need.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, the only way the updater could work without having to do the applying process would be wholesale file replacement. So instead of downloading at most a couple of megs for a new costume, you would have download a new 30 meg or so file for EVERY LITTLE COSTUME CHANGE. A file that will only grow the more is added to it.

And that is just one of the two costume files (totaling about 50 megs between the two, right now) most of the other files are much bigger.
    [ QUOTE ]

Or worse, if there are no active seeders, you get stuck at X% completion with no end to the torrent in sight.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To be fair - if someplace like NCSoft/Paragon Studios went to using bittorrent, there would be at least one seed at all times, from the servers.

No you do have to have CoH to buy Going Rogue, it is an expansion, and yes they will have all new ATs - the ones that start in the grey alignment area

    [/ QUOTE ]

Please show where this was said by a redname? Haven't heard a thing about this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The first part - it requiring CoH/V - is in the FAQ.

Nothing on the second. I do recall a dev (sorry, can't remember exactly where so I can't link) that we might be able to start in new characters in Pretoria - effectively starting new characters "purpleside" - that they would be neither hero nor villain until we do enough to confirm one alignment or the other.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Not to mention, I don't like having unnecessary programs running that are just hogging memory.

[/ QUOTE ] The updater, by itself, doesn't take up much if any noticeable memory. If the issue is coming near, then it's not unnecessary to have it running. And considering it stops and shuts itself off when it's down downloading...

Seriously, switching to a torrent model in any way would not be worth it. Possibly if we had our numbers increase in a huge way (triple or more) then it might be worth it but not now. Especially since downloading and torrent traffic are different, and some people have serious issues getting torrents to work.

A L50 toon that exemplars down is ... still a 50, but her combat level (I believe that's the right term) has been clipped.

An Imp is /never/ 50. An Imp is never summoned at 50. An Imp is, tops, 49. An Imp is not a 50 that's exemped down to 49. An Imp is, for all intents an purposes, a L49 toon that cannot have the stats of its powers modified by a purple because purples only work on 50s.

Exemplaring does not factor into this /at all/.

    [/ QUOTE ]

an imp cannot get any recharge bonus, thus proving it is not a toon and can be affected differently. Fix it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    WRONG!
An imp can get recharge bonuses.

However, it's only power is brawl, and just like the New T9s and the various bought powers like the self destruct and mission teleport, Imp's version of brawl is marked to ignore all recharge effects/bonuses.

Raise Imps level back up to even with the caster.

Give imps inherent acc, def, res, and dmg debuffs to make them the same power that they were at - to the caster, only with the code seeing them as lvl 50.

Sure, there may be practical reasons why it's not that easy, but conceptually it should be that easy, no?

Just to add: I have to agree (*shudder*) with EvilRyu on this one. It's really not fair for one pet powerset among all the others to lose out on the purple pet set. Parents: sometimes your kids are being immature and just complaining. Other times, things are Actually not fair. Calling it what it is does not automatically reveal immaturity.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That still doesn't solve the problem where exemping to any other level makes it so the imps don't benefit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What I am saying is this:

Fix the problem for level 50 Fire Imps. Exemplared folks and MM pets other than the Boss would still be SoL, for sure.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well then. Up yours as well.

1 - Peititon in game when it happens.

2 - Pretty sure unless it's a big weekend for testing, they tend to not go in to kick the copy tool when it goes down after Friday work hours.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This appears to be the case. I was trying since Friday. It's now Monday afternoon, and, after a petition, my transfers went through, as well as some new ones.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for doing all the work, after you poked the GM's the copy tool worked for me too!

    [/ QUOTE ]

The copy tool is outside the game, and requires some... mothering. And there doesn't seem to be anything in particular to let them know when it's down, so that's why a petition (from live or test) can help speed up it's return.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
the important question is, has it been added to i15? when the beta went live i thouht they said the buff wasn't in there, has this changed? i was really looking forward to the buff, and made two new doms, hopefully the added the buff to i15.

[/ QUOTE ]Last thing castle said about it's timing is "after i15".

    [ QUOTE ]
The more common term hereabouts is kill-stealing. It is considered impolite, though there is no formal rule against it. If another player follows you around doing it constantly, there may be grounds for a petition claiming harassment.

    [/ QUOTE ]

From experience, probably not much will be done. Thankfully it doesn't often happen.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kill stealing, in and of itself, is not actionable in game.

However, if someone is following you around, refusing to team with you, and continually kill stealing then it's harassment/cyberstalking - which WILL be acted on.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Also, there are plenty of powers with similar names, but the links are different. For example, a /Fire tank has [Tanker_Melee.Fiery Melee.Fire Sword Circle], but just [Fire Sword Circle]pulls up the Fire Manipulation version (blaster version?).

    IO bonuses

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    From my [very old] guide:
    [ QUOTE ]

You can add the same "little bonus" up to five times. No more than five, even if they're from different sets. 3% Resistance and 3.11% Resistance are different little bonuses!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [/ QUOTE ]

What defines "small, moderate, large, huge, ultimate," etc. for the various bonuses? I'm assuming you mean that you can have 5 "small" of the same bonus, as well as 5 "moderate" of that same bonus type. I'm just wondering if there's a guide that explains these differences in real numbers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The naming comes from the Combat Attributes window.

The Rule of five is as thus :

Castle further elaborated on the rule of five [Originally thought to limit a set bonus to five of the same value] in I13 Closed Beta saying that the exclusion of more than five of the same bonuses is based on the name of the bonus and not its value. For example, a character can benefit from up to five global benefits of Luck of the Gambler: Defense/Increased Recharge Speed, which gives a global +7.5% bonus to Recharge Rate, as well as up to five set bonuses of +7.5% Recharge. That's because under the Real Numbers in a character's Combat Numbers window, you will see the Luck of the Gambler with a total of 37.5% Recharge bonus (5 x 7.5%) and Huge Recharge Bonus with 37.5% Recharge bonus -- two different named bonuses, even though they have the same value bonus for the same attribute.

That quote pulled from the wiki page Catwhoorg linked to.

I'll see what Support says. I was just thinking that it wouldn't be all that difficult for there to be an account timer or something when you log in - like at the "choose your server page" or a switch in the options section. Thanks for the suggestions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But the game has no concept of how long you've been subscribed - your PlayNC account just goes in and flips a 0 to a 1 or something similar to grant you a given vet reward.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
it would take pressure off of the servers to could reduce lag ingame

    [/ QUOTE ]

The servers you play on are not the servers involved in patching.

It would be of minimal benefit compared to the current system for a bunch of work. And there can be issues with torrents, of various natures. I admit I may be misremembering, but as I recall, didn't Blizzard have to change their torrent client a bit to fix a hack/viral issue with people abusing the bittorrent system?

However, that doesn't mean you're in any sort of danger of being personally singled out if you do make an honest mistake.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tell that to the people banned for using leveling pacts, because when the devs were doling out their punishments the game perceived them as gaining too many levels too quickly because they "gain" all their XP from the pact upon login.

[/ QUOTE ]Which they are resolving at the moment, if they are not finished yet.

A reason why hack solutions are generally the worst solutions.

EDIT : And that would only fix it for fire imps.

They would have to go through and do it for EVERY henchman that never spawns at level 50, as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Don't apply debuffs; use the existing exemplar code. Masterminds always summon their henchmen at their level; when you get two tier-1 henchmen, they're ex'ed one level down, when you get three, they're ex'ed two levels down. Fire imps are always ex'ed down one level from the summoner.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Again, they would have to go through and do it for Every henchman and pet that never spawns at level fifty.

I've got exactly the same problem. Even been trying for approx 3 days now as well. (Well, 2 days, and the night preceeding.) Can we at least get an ETA of when it might be up again? (Kind of assuming it's been turned off for one reason or another, as it's been up and running before and is generally tested technology.)
