Quote:Had forgotton about this. The search term is too short, so it won't return any hits. A limitation like that kind of sucks for MMORPGs where acronyms are plentiful.
Try serachin instead for "StatesTF" or "StatesmanTF" if using the general search line.
Also try doing a tag search for STF. Tags, IIRC, don't have the "min word length" bit. -
Quote:And I think that it needs to be typed as an accolade power, because it's ridiculous as a perma-temp power. And the origin attack needs to be changed to inherent, as well.
If you want to go by that logic take a look at the ouroboros portal which is a temp power but look at how often its used (never expires) and it's frequently mis-used as as a lazy travel zone. -
Quote:Were you doing a general search, or a Tag search? Different parts of the search form.I have tried to use forum search to find posts with STF as a keyword. I got the following error "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

Any ideas?
And if it's a Tag search, there MIGHT be no posts tagged that. -
While one could arguably say that Cryptic pretty much ended up putting this game on Life support shortly after CoV/i6 came out, when it was just the "Freem Fifteen", it is definitely no longer the case considering the development team has in creased by a magnitude of about 5 since then, and is apparently still hiring.

Quote:Yep - the goal of fighting Crey isn't to catch Crey with their hands dirty - it's catching the Countess with her hands on the controlsCrey does the same thing, almost all of the missions where you fight Crey forces have a debriefing that basically consists of "Countess Crey sends her thanks for rooting out the corruption in her company"

Also, another trick if you are short on cash for financing SOs/IOs is open Menu->Options->Earn XP->Disable. Especially if you are using SOs. Each TO/DO/SO has a 7 level range in which they can be used, which overlaps with the next set (if buying from stores at their 5-level increments) soon the last level for a given set of enhancements (lets say you buy some 25s, level up to 28), turn of XP, and that xp turns into extra inf, then you buy some level 30 SOs (slottable as early as 27), combine them with the 25s (which you can do at 28, at 27 you merely replace since a successful combine would give a 31 which you have to be 28 to use), and you have yourself some level 30 & 31 enhancements. Then when you're ready, turn XP back on.
Quote:I go to market, put everything on there, and compare the vendor (npc store) pricing vs. what it's going for. There are various recipes that sell more on the market than at the vendor, even the common stuff. At the same time, it helps prevent you from wasting money when you could of gotten more at the vendor. Also, as a seller, it costs you a minimum of 10 inf to sell something on the market (might actually be five, but 10 is the "safe spot" due to minimum fees). That said, for "common/generic" Invention Origin (IO) Recipes, if you're going to sell them, sell them at a regular store. They're worth a lot there and the stores pay a fixed rate. One of the paragonwiki links already provided gives you the chart. Whereas, if you try to sell them at the Market, you're selling to other players who are trying to buy them as cheap as they can. -
Dick is a valid name. The other is often used as a hostile term, and part of the last name of one of the devs (N8 VanDyke)

Quote:Perhaps in the same way that Longbow get away with being all over the Rogue Isles?
Longbow is a private or mercenary army/militia, and not the responsibility of the USA, I think Manticore mentioned. It's been mentioned that concerns of the Geneva convention has been brought up over their choice of weapons (like the flamethrower) to which their leader (Ms. Lib) states that supervillains are an escalation of force which makes Longbow's weapon choices acceptable/not a violation.
If caught, and not an actual rogue element, Arachnos forces violating the sovereignty of another nation are disavowed as rogue element. This is a punishment for failure - getting caught in an undeniable fashion. -
Quote:It's not old enough to call this a necroDidn't realize it was "illegal" to respond to an old thread.

Least in my book, , nees to be more than 35 days old.
In most cases, the mods do not get involved in this kinda thing unless it's a seriously old thread (like 6+ months.) Then they just lock it. -
Quote:Correct....So I could potentially buff my target foe (a la Performance Shifter:+ for end) but I never have to worry about debuffing myself? That's almost good to know.
Again thanks for your help guys.
The reason you have targeting buff procs is because that can also be slotted in powers like speed boost to buff your friends with the +End. Don't recall if it works on the healing targets of the Kin heal, though. -
Quote:Yeah, no known non-positional Toxic attacks. Might be one or two, but they would be paired with an elemental attack vector then as well.Actually, there are very few attacks in the game that do not have a positional component to them. Mind control attacks are the only ones I know of (I'm not aware of any toxic attacks with no position).
The only non-Mind Control attack I can think of the Dark Miasma Fear, which is merely Negative Energy attack vector typed. -

Quote:As it is, the ones you don't keep get sold back at the best value during the respec. Before respecs were given to us, the devs were up in the air whether we should keep any enhancements AT ALL. Be happy we get 10.
The point of an enhancement is that it's permanent. Being able to shift them around after a respec is nice, being able to keep ten is completely generous. -
Quote:Actually, it doesn't. They are not about to change vigilance when they didn't want to give it to us in the first place. It doesn't. It needs to be changed.
Who cares ? If you solo mobs only attack you anyway. Tankers should have something better rather than just situationally benefiting from the consequences of the Taunt in Gauntlet.
Thing is defenders and tanks were made when there where no official inherents if the class had them. We won't get awesome inherents on heroes like villians have, at this point, unless the ATs are redisgned/revamped like stalkers, doms, and blasters were. And if you think Tanks and Defenders are that messed up you are nuts. -

Quote:There are two types of Procs.Hmm Thanks for the answers guys.
This brings up another question though:
Say I put something like Furry of the Gladiator : Chance for Res Debuff in something like Blazing Aura. Since Blazing Aura is a toggle, would the -Res Chance affect ME or the Mobs that Blazing Aura does damage to?
"Affects Target" and "Affects Caster" - while the beneficial procs can be either, debuffs are the former (Affects Target) only. You are not the target of your Blazing Aura, so would be fine. -
Quote:And the big reason the Club, Cim, and RWZ buy back at the better rate is because of the fact those are the Co-Op zones and leaving them in a mixed team gets you kicked.Ouro buys enhancements at 32% of base costs. Midnighter Club, Cimerora, RWZ all buy at 40% of base costs. Origin venders buy their origin at 40%, and other origins at 26%. Training venders buy TOs at 40%, and others at 26%.

edit: curses! scooped! though I did put the %s in, versus just the link by StarGeek. -
Quote:The bolded part doesn't fly for me. I remember when ALL outcasts had elemental powers, not just the level 10 or 15+ ones. The developers DO change mobs if they are overpowered.I think it may have started when the devs realized that the 5th Column is really overpowered at lower levels. For instance, some of their troops in the level 1-15 range get Martial Arts attacks(status effects included), grenade or rocket launchers with knockback, rifles that can reduce recharge speed, or area of effect attacks in general(even minions). The Mek Men have Energy Melee attacks that disorient(which includes a point-blank area of effect attack and Stun), and Vampyr Mesmerists have a hold power(even worse, both units are minions).
Then, before they could get to work toning down their abilities, somebody in Legal misunderstood the German laws against portraying Nazis. Everyone overreacted and decided to instead create a whole new villain group to replace them, and worked on removing every reference to the 5th Column, even changing the game's backstory in places like having Atlas die fighting off the Council in the 50's instead of the 5th Column/German forces in 1941. They can't honestly deny it, because we're still seeing variations on "that group that got their butts kicked by the Council".
As a side effect, the 5th Column are STILL friggin' overpowered in the lower level ranges! They seriously need to be nerfed!
And I seriously doubt the law bit. As I recall, there were several games where players could play as Axis/Nazis or at least against them (Wolfenstien, for example) released before CoH. And that would be a VERY sloppy move to make for an international company. -
Quote:Don't forget it helps keep them in range of Auras.Gauntlet is always useful, even when solo, because it automatically aggroes mobs and makes them return to you when you use things like Burn and other Fears.
Quote:I am aware of Vigilance's uselessness in the majority of situations. It still protects the Defender personally on teams though very rarely. It still has more uses personally than Gauntlet. Gauntlet is dead last in the list as far as personal aid goes since it provides none.So tell me how Vigilance increases a solo defender's solo capabilities?Quote:That is what I meant when saying all inherents other than Gauntlet increase personal surviviability and help when soloing. Scourage, Fury, Containment, and Critical Strike increase personal surviviability because they give more damage and the faster you can kill the more surviviable you are.
I do feel the Tanker inherent should increase survivability directly.
Used right, Guantlet DOES help even a solo tank, and just because your playstyle doesn't let it be useful solo doesn't mean no one else does. -

Quote:I think it's because Reveal's animation is 100% interruptable after the arm gadget being used.I seem to recall reporting a few regarding flight, and especially Hover. Even got modsmacked by Mod8 for posting a step-by-step description when you weren't taking PMs. I haven't checked to see if those loopholes still allow me to bypass all animations (I hope they're gone), but it seems like Hover is a big source for these things. To this day it's causing problems, like the Reveal power not playing most of its animation while Hovering. Ground animations, from what I can see, are more or less perfect, but aerial animations still still have a few surprises in them.
In other news: Dang! And I was so excited about losing draw on Broadsword. Phoey! Here's to hoping you can find some other way to achieve this, because it would have opened up my weapon users to taking non-weapon powers in a big way. -

Quote:Sorry, you're wrong too.Sorry, wrong answer. Dull Pain does not have and has never had Toxic resists. Healing Flame does, Reconstruction does, but Dull Pain does not. The only Toxic resists that Invulnerability has come in Unyielding and Unstoppable.
Which are more than enough when taken together.
I was thinking dull pain because they like to put the Toxic resistance in the heals, and I could of sworn they had it in Dull Pain. Checking Paragonwiki.com, I realized I was thinking of Stone's DP clone.
While Unyielding and Unstoppable both have +Toxic, Resist Elements does too. -
Quote:Last I checked, the various damage auras for scrappers accepted Tuant enhancements.I want them to fix the freakin mob AI to make them less cowardly OR give Scrapper damage auras a taunt component like AAO or Invincibility >_<
Wouldn't you use brownies instead?
