The lowest I got them for was a shade over 7K, but there weren't many I was able to get at that price. Most of my bulk p0urchases were 17K or 27K.

/Nrg for m0ar KB. That's what I went with on my latest stormie, and it's the first storm/* I was able to play and enjoy. But you'd better learn how to not go wild with KB, or no one will want to team with you.

You know what I just realized would help eliminate the need for bid creeping? Price caps. Set them low enough, and everyone can just bid the max and know that they'll never get it but keep hoping that they will. It eliminates complaints from people who say prices are too high on the market. It makes it easier for me to get richer. It can't be that hard to implement on the dev side. Everybody wins.

I have seen over-bids at times, but nothing lately. Then tonight I logged in to a character who has had one IO listed at 2.1M for weeks without moving. That last 5 were all between 3.0 and 3.6M. He finally sold his tonight for 5M. I'm not complaining, but......

Bought them. On a character that has spare slots if I relist them. Not surprised this didn't move given how much lower the history on that level is, but most folks probably didn't realize that those sales are mostly 4-8 months old. So they thought those old prices were still valid.

I periodically buy Kinetic Combat IOs to store for my up-and-coming melee characters. I haven't done so in a while, so had no idea they had gotten this pricey. I know that when I was buying and storing them in the past, I rarely got any of them for significantly less than the level 35 versions, so I concur that pricing this far below top-level pricing seems like it would be a good deal. A bit surprised you haven't sold them at that price, given what the top-level versions go for. I think I'll check on them and pick them up if they are still on the market when I get a chance to log in a look.

I just slotted one in sprint yesterday, so reports of this not working are greatly exaggerated. I think the Giant one is correct that they might be thinking prestige sprints or something else.

I did some rolls this week-end and got 2 Call of the Sandman recipes back to back. My luck appears to run the opposite direction at the moment. I will confess to having some pretty good AE ticket rolls of late, though, so I'll not complain too much of my merit roll fail.

Quote:I've seen you on your namesake a few times while on one of my many marketeering alts, but not said anything. Guess I'll have to make sure to /t so you know you done been got seenified.I dont think I have ever run across any of the "regulars" that post here on this Forum except the Bunny and only becuase he was in his Bunny outfit.
Now that is NOT to say that I have not met other Marketers for transfers and exchanges because I have.
I am only speaking about a chance meeting

Should make the "Billion inf with no XP" much easier to get.

Quote:Given the number of times my stalkers have outlived all 7 teammates in hard battles, I'd say you still don't understand this game and what stalkers can do. In Recluse' Victory, AE farms, and just normal missions on very high difficulty, I've had my /nin and /SR stalkers the last standing in fights many times. Sometimes, I've even finished the spawns so the rest of the team could rez. Anyone who thinks the stalker is made for hit and run and not to stand and push continuous damage just doesn't understand the game or what stalkers are capable of. Since the big stalker overhaul and buff a few issues back, the stalker has become my preferred toe-to-toe melee character for strong damage plus great survivability.I'd say it largely depends on how you play.
I stand by the developers intention of the class. The stalker is an archtype that is not designed to engage in consistent and continuous melee combat. I've flat out told people who play stalkers as they would play a brute or scrapper, they are doing it wrong.. Short of a red name saying that they (the developers) have decided to change the entire point of stalkers, I'm not likely to change my stance.
A stalker is really designed to hit a single target hard... then disappear. I've taken both an Katana / SR and a Dark / Dark stalker to 50 by playing them as stalkers should be played, and really, on a team, when they do their jobs properly, both of the types I've tried perform quite well.
Solo, I'd actually say the Katana / SR is a little less annoying to play. Couldn't give you any hard reasons why, but I enjoy the Katana / SR a lot more than my Dark / Dark.
If you're dead set on trying to be something you aren't, and match a brute for hanging around in combat, or match a scrapper for taking on mobs, you are going to want a defensive set, and you are going to want to soft-cap. Even then, as it sounds like you've found out, all it takes is one hit and you an still be road-kill.

Quote:Much truth in here. I think the best way the devs could overhaul the market is to put price caps in for the high end stuff. Can we agree on 40 million as the most any IO should cost on the official market?I think the market system in CoX needs a major overhaul no matter how you look at it.
but there are also a fair amount of players that are trying to alter prices some realize it some don't. like the 308 people that are bidding on lvl 50 Acc IOs but they are bidding less than 100,000inf well sorry to say when i make extras of that enhancement I NEVER sell it for less than 400,000 mostly because it cost more than that to make the things in the first place and that is the cost without even talking about salvage or the cost of the recipe (if it is not already memorized) now personally i think that the cost of enhancements that you have memorized is WAY WAY WAY too high. and that is also something that needs to be reworked in this game, not to mention that we still have to pay to add a base item that we either Built ourselves or earned by some other means. I mean why should i have to pay Inf. to place an item in my base when i already built the item in my base... just my $0.04

Quote:The monthly fee pays for server access only. We get issue updates for free. Booster packs are extra content for those who want to pay for nice but not game changing goodies. If your attitude here is indicative of how you view the game, please do leave. How good are the ninja powers? The other booster packs had powers that were pretty useless, they were just fluff. But, if the ninja powers are almost as good as travel powers I think I'll cancel my subscription. Players who pay extra get bonus powers? That's ******** when I am already paying a monthly fee.
If the ninja pack just changed the animation of superspeed and superjump, I would be fine with that

In fact, the first time in probably 3 years I had someone recognize me - They said "I'm teamed with RagMan? Wow - I thought he just posted and played the market." or something to that effect. So I know how odd it feels to get recognized by someone other than the folks you regularly play with/see the most in game.

If you are unable to stack 5 LotG 7.5% rchg + 5 set bonus 7.5% rchg, than that is something new. Since IOs have been available, it has been possible to stack these. I have not checked in a long time, but I have in the past tested and put 5 LotG plus 3 set bonus 7.5% and gotten the recharge from all 8. I look forward to seeing your results so we can know if this has been changed.

Just for kicks, I sold two stacks of Sci Theories I had redside lastweek. There were only 8 for sale when I did it, so I listed 8 more for various numbers between 600K and 900K. Before I logged out 15 minutes later, I'd sold 3 for 2.8M total and bought 7 more for 1234. Overnight, the rest sold for 4.6M more. I also bought 20 during the night for 1011 each, and sold 2 for 1M each the next day. I had nothing to do with the shortage, but decided to list for close to 1M be because I remember someone complaining that they were forced to pay 1M for this salvage. I figure if they weren't smart enough to wait 3 more minutes like I did, I was willing to tax them for 998,xxx more than I paid.

Quote:I love so much that when I try to help them and counter their "markt caPS n0a!!!!" blather because I actually do know how much better things would be (only for me rather than for them) if they were implemented, they insult me and say I just don't want other rich people in competition with me.I think of those as a kind of #6. "You're all so stupid that you don't realize how much better things would be if all my ideas were implemented, or you're all so evil that you don't want things to get better, like they would if all my ideas were implemented."
When those brilliant ideas are price caps and bind-on-pickup and the like, you just know there will be a flurry of 7's soon to come.
So rather than fight it any more, I just agree with them.
Devs - price caps, plz. 20M is a good choice.
Thx,
RagManX -
First, clarity for those that don't know my schtick - price caps are a horridly bad idea for any player who isn't already rich. Caps drive highly valued items off the official market and on to the player-run black market. It will make those of us that are already rich even richer, and make it easier to push prices higher.
That said, to maintain my consistent, official in-forum stance on this:
Quote:This please, devs. I have finally settled on 20M as the smartest price cap possible. Please implement this in GR!OR at least set price caps. It's ridiculous to see recipies selling for some of the exhorbitant prices that appear on the market.
People complain the devs hate villains. People complain the devs hate heroes. No one seems to notice that the devs hate me, as I have been requesting this feature for 6 issue updates now, and still no mention of this wonderful idea ever happening.
RagManX -
Clearly the smartest move is merging the markets. Maybe when they do that, they could implement price caps to protect the villains?
More seriously, if there's such a large inf disparity, why not just amp up inf drops for villains? I can get rich on either side. The start-up funds needed to do so are no different. The only difference I see if going from "wealth enough" to "offensively rich" takes longer redside due to less activity. Once you hit that higher level, though, there is again no significant difference that I see. Merging would increase activity in an overall market, which means more competition, meaning potentially better pricing for all users of the market. Avoiding a merger at this point seems more pointless than it has in the past.

Yes, I remember just before AE came out I was buying crafted purples for 10-15M and selling them for 30-50M. When prices went up considerably in just a couple days, I regretted not jumping on and buying everything I could in the 100-150M range. Could have had many billionaires with the sale of those, had I just trusted my instincts on where the purple IOs were heading. Good to see them coming back down though, since I have a few characters I want to purple out now (just about everything but my casual warshade).

Awesome. I tried to do it once, but got tired of such limited slots and on-hero storage capacity. I leveled to 10 just to have some breathing room. But then I lost interest in the project after earning just a few million.
