I dont purple out hardly any characters. In 26 level 50s i have maybe 5 entire purple sets and that is mostly across 3 dominators and those were basicly only there because they were cheaper sets like sleeps or confuses.

I pretty much refuse to pay the money required to buy damage purple sets for my blasters or scrappers, it just isnt justified for the bonuses as far as im concerned. So ya i dont have a high need for cash either beyond what i can pull from doing some AE farming. And as i mentioned since i pretty much hate playing new toons prior to level 20-22, i can try out a new character that actually has powers and slotting availible to him by the time i am done running a few farm trips.

All i am saying is i dont find it to be very nice. Be it hero or villian, this is a game, its recreational in nature. And working the markets IMO feels to much like business. It makes me personally feel like i am still working at gamestop and im gonna give you 3 bucks for your traded in game and turn around and sell it to the next person for 20. IMO working the markets is basicly taking advantage of people that are willing to sell for cheap for whatever reason be it need or stupidity and then putting it back up for sale and letting it sit for the next person that needs it badly enough to pay whatever your asking.

It might not be as efficent, i wont argue that with you, but it feels alot nicer and more karmicly balanced to earn what i put on the market and choose what i want for it then to bid low and sell high, for items i dont even want, knowing that who i bought it from could have gotten what i would get for it had he known any better.

Besides, do you really think marketeers just stand around at the market all day? They play the game. People who just play and don't farm generate stuff too (raises hand again).
Sure they do, but frankly how many LOTG recharge processes do you think would be for sale if people didnt farm for tickets or merits to get them? How many purples would drop if someone wasnt farming to earn them? All the really good stuff people want on the markets has limited availibilty for dropping through standard game play. So next time you need a LOTG and spend 100 million on it instead of 175 million you can thank the farmers that earned it and put it up for sale.

You might be right, but farming is atleast more fun then studying the markets to plan purchases and sells. Plus i spend 2 hours farming and i have enough tickets to put 20 million worth of salvage on the market, plus about 14 million in actually earnings, plus i probably have a new toon that went from 1-22 and is ready for some slotting.

As far as im concerned i have more respect in game for people that farm for their drops and sell the ones that they dont want, then those that stand at the market, with tons of bids in and take what the just bought as a fair value and jack it up for the next person down the line. Doesnt seem very "heroic" to me in a game about heroes.

Even better why not just give us the ability to have a console in our bases that allow for access to the markets. Not only does it cut down the population and power effects but will make crafting, storing etc all alot easier when your 20 feet from a crafting station or storage.

If there were a place in the overworld I could do this, then sure, why not? But as long as it requires a base with a specific item in it... I can see why people never use it.
Make one base and put all your characters in the same group, or two groups villiana and hero.

Well the thing to keep in mind is that there are only so many spots on a character model that you can add a new texture to them. However i think that it would be need to see some accessories that fit in with our currect power sets better then we have.

I get tired of pulling a sword out of my *** on my katana scrapper. It would be nice to have a back detail that had like two modes. Think rocket boots here. Where when flight is on they shoot fire when its off they dont. Have a sword scabard for the back, that when you are attacking is empty but when at rest shows a sword in it. I dont need any fancy animation to match pulling the sword out or anything just something that basic.

Maybe a cool couple jet packs for flight animations with protruding wings when in use and retracted when not. Some belts with dual pistol holsters, again empty when attacking holding pistols when at rest.

I think things that would work into the current costume fields like these would be a great addition and agree with most that i bet more people would be willing to pay for a full one costume accessory package then do for like 2 new costume sets, a new temp power and what not that are in the current sets.
  7. I find myself kinda torn on this issue. I did a small stint on another cryptic created game to explore strange new worlds, and they used a system simlar to a character name@Account name. And frankly i didnt really have a problem with it. I guess if i really paided attention im sure i would have seen some duplicate names floating around, but i didnt care to follow it that closely. And i would imagine alot of us here wouldnt either.

I mean sure you might play with Capt Amazing, and see another Capt Amazing from time to time but if you know its not your friend then who cares.

However i think personally i would be much more in favor of a fair name purge policy. I know everyone gets up in arms about this, but i think it can be done in a fair manner that benefits current or so to be back players and ignores those that have no intention of coming back.

For instance i think on a canceled account that any character under the level of 20 should get 4 months to return or be purged. Any character from 20-50 gets 6 months. IMO if you cancel for 6 months the likelihood is you have no intention of coming back. This would probably go beyond that of money shortages, trying out new games, family problems etc. And during a six month period there is probably atleast 2 free activation weekends normally in which time you could log back in and reset your clock if infact one of those issues applies to you.

I also think it would benefit the game in a second way, though yes im sure some might say that those that have been canceled for longer then 6 months may never come back. However i also think it would keep players on the fence wanting to keep their accounts active rather then cancel for a few months here and there.

I also think this purge shouldnt be 100 percent. Meaning i dont think you should lose the name simply because your account is over the due date. I think it should be based on the request to use the name on the server by a current player. Meaning that if i have an average name that could be popular like ...i dont know... Super Frosty... for an ice blaster. I make the toon and the name is taken, if its on an active account then im out of luck. If its on an account that is canceled more then 6 months, (assuming a level 50 toon) then i get an option to take the name or make another. A dialog says This name was used in the past, do you wish to claim it for your new character? Yes or no. Some people might say no simply due to not wanting to usurp anothers name or be mistaken for an old player, some might want the name reguardless. If i say yes then that character is made generic on the canceled account and i get the name, if i say no, then it remains untouched.

Though i personally have no problems usually with making names, i do think thebenefits of the naming rules should be in favor of those currently paying the bills for the game rather then those long since retired.

Slot this up a bit more and I’ve got something fun here. …Except I have to take another power, so it’ll be two levels – sigh.” Ever said to yourself “Why did I take this power, I never use it. Oh yeah, I had to take something at level 49 so I could get the final 3 slots from level 50).

    Alternate Leveling
At level 1 you get 1 power from your primary set (first or second power in the set) with one enhancement slot and 1 power from your secondary set (first power only) with one enhancement slot. You also get the powers of Brawl and Sprint with 1 enhancement slot.
As you adventure through the game you will gain experience bars. Every time you gain ten bars, you go up a level and earn the right to spend the 10 bars you just earned. At level 2, you gain the power Rest with one enhancement slot. At levels 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 35, 38, 41, 44, 47, and 49 you unlock the ability to select another power.
When you go to a trainer, you can choose to spend any of your experience bars or hold them for later. A new power (with zero enhancements slots) costs 10 bars. Enhancement slots cost 3 bars each. So at level 2, you could now purchase a third power with your 10 experience bars; or up to 3 additional slots for your existing powers, and save the unused bars for later.
In the course of going from level 1 to level 50, you will earn 490 experience bars. Converting from the current method, all level 50 characters have spent 220 experience bars on additional powers leaving 270 bars, enough for 90 enhancement slots. In the current system, a character ends with 91 slots. In this proposal, you are given 5 enhancement slots for free so the net difference is 4 additional slots. I would suggest sweetening the deal even more by giving you the ten bars from level 1 in your pool to spend (so that at level 2 you can purchase a power and at least 1 enhancement slot for it), making it an even 500 experience bars; for a bonus 7 slots over the current system.
Since selecting new powers are now optional, you could intentionally forgo up to 8 powers so that you could six-slot the powers you do have (Peacebringers and Warshades could forgo even more to boost their Nova and Dwarf slotting).

    Crossing Powers
With this said, you can now look at some crazy options.
Training Academies and/or Re-leveling: Allow characters to earn 20 bonus experience bars. Level 50 characters can continue to earn experience as if they are replaying level 49. They don’t gain any more health or con any higher, they just get 10 bonus experience bars (so players could reach level 50++?). And/or have contacts who specialize in helping a character be the best they can be. The end of their mission arcs offer a few bonus experience bars rather than merits.
Skills/Talents: There have been a number of suggestions for skills in the forums through the years. I haven’t seen any of these being worth exchanging a power for, but setting their small edges at 1 or 2 experience bar each would be fair. Would you give up one enhancement slot for three minor advantages (quick example - lock picking, which debuffs the time needed to open a safe or vault door)?
Alternate Powers: To create a character like Frostfire – who has both fire and ice controller primaries – isn’t possible. Or is it? What if we said selecting a power from an additional primary (or secondary) set appropriate to your archetype costs 30 experience bars rather than 10 and like your initial set you must ‘open’ by selecting one of the first two powers (first power only for secondary) from the alternate power set, and since you are not level 1 you do NOT get an initial enhancement slot.
Wild Powers: To create a character like Iron Man (who could be seen as a Tanker with a few ranged powers or as a Blaster with defensive powers) you could select powers from a list that is not appropriate for your archetype for 30 points if you possess the set ‘keyword’ or 50 if you do not, and again you would have to ‘open’ the set by selecting one of the initial powers from it. What I mean by ‘keyword’ is that your selected power sets come with keywords, and if any of those keywords match the keywords from the wild set you want, then you have some thematic justification for it (i.e. A blaster with dark primary and fire secondary set could consider dark or fire defensive sets at 30 bars per power but Stone, Invulnerable, Cold, Regen, Reflexes, Shield, etc. would be 50 bars for the first power). This would need to exclude selecting the exact same powers/sets (An Invulnerable Tank cannot double up by cross training into Scrapper Invulnerability as well). Note also that by purchasing your first power of a new set, you gain that set’s keyword.

So maybe crossing powers is too wild and crazy. But the basic alternate leveling idea alone opens the door to diversity. Would you trade in a power or two to further enhance those you do have?
Wow honestly, go play Champions, this kinda overhaul is basicly totally against the game design of COX.

Oh and though you say no scrapper and tanker invul on the same toon, you dont need to you can still cross purchase def or resistances to the same things from other sets. Heck really you could just buy the teir 38 clickables from 2-3 different sets and just cycle through them as they expire.
  9. I dont find them to be to terrible. There are only 2 of them so they are -1 level rather then i think imps are at -2 now are they not? So they hit more easily, they dont have thier damage nerfed as much. With 2 acc and 3 dam, my grems are hitting with something, assuming the melee power, for pretty decent damage. And as was mentioned have the thing with the pets is to take some agro from you. I would rather let a pet take a boss alpha then myself.

I think part of the issue is also that Electric animations have always been kinda underwhelming to watch. You dont get teh flash of fire, the knockdown or energy or earth, but i would say they are a combo are just as helpful to my elec dom as my walking turd was to my earth dom.

Though not possible from a standpoint of adding into the game interactable vehicles, we have already seen the use of vehicles in other ways in the game. For instance the Sky Raiders Sky Skiffs are technically a vehicle that houses a NPC.

I think it would be intresting to add in back details for jet packs and such that people have wanted for a long time already. But i also think that it would be kinda cool to allow for new animations for travel powers. For instance, when you use Super Speed your animation rather then a running one like now could be the addition of a motor cycle that your sitting on, but it doesnt change the speed, jumping etc of the original power. Or a small helicopter for flight etc.

In those ways for thematic purposes it would be possible to do, just as it was possible to give flight alternate animations and have costume peices like jet boots and wings that react to the powers when activated. But anyone who actually wants to say be on that motorcycle and fight from it, i think is out of luck.

I would say other then the shape of the shield that look fits in nicely with the vintage ww2 look for cap we see in the comics.

And frankly it's becoming a bit of a problem, like some horrible kind of writer's block or just flat out obsession. I haven't been able to make any other characters, because I keep fixating on that one. And it's reaching the point that thinking about the Character That Refuses To Be Named leaves me feeling physically ill. And I'm not asking people to name the character for me - a friend already suggested several names, some of which were probably fairly good. I rejected them all because of some vague sense that if I don't pick the name, the character isn't really mine somehow. To the extent that any character in this game "belongs" to the player.

What I'm looking for, I guess, is how other people get past being blocked on a name. Either because they've got the perfect costume/powerset and can't think of one, or their perfect name turns out to be taken.
Unless i have a really clear concept, like say "Middle-Aged Man" i usually have gotten to the point of just making variations of what the character is in his or her name. For instance my main was QuiJon, its what most my friends know me as, my new elec/earth dom is "Grounded QJ" I figure you have an electrical ground and earth so grounded.

Also from time to time i get on a kick with one thing. Like i made a corruptor named Sithalicous. And i liked that alot so got on a kick for using it and have like a FlaminLicous, StealthyLicous etc now also. But i find if I do things that use my mains initials that pretty much any name is open to me because though say "Artic Air" might already be taken "Artic Air QJ" likely is not.

I searched every other character to find that type of amazing damage. Thought it would be a Mace brute, but that damage weakened as time went on. Then I respec'ed my Huntsman to a Bane and tried that. This was the AT I was looking for. It does this amazing damage. Like one shotting a red npc. His defense was no where near the frail epic heroes PB's and WS's.

Question? Do you sell SO's on the market? I have just been dumping them on vendors.
    Bull ****....

You couldnt even make a master mind before ED took effect. They launched in the same issue.

If you think you have to many resources then level the toon put the slots somewhere and dont fill them. But if you want to be able to get those slots filled with more expensive set peices, why not dust off those level 50s, do some TFs and SFs earn some merits and do some rolls. If you dont want what you get sell them on the market.

But frankly even though you say that its little effect, the cumulative effect of slotting a second end reduction in all your toggles IS noticable, or slotting end red in those 1-2 big attacks that take like 15-18 end in one big chunk. there is always something somewhere that can be slotted, either recharge, end, def, res, it doesnt matter. Common IOs are pretty cheap to buy or make them yourself they are cheaper. Even 2 percent is 2 percent more then you had before.

"Coming out of City of Heroes we launched to great acclaim, we got a lot of publicity, everybody loved it, but we didn't have crafting and we didn't have PvP. All there was to do was fight. Over the years everybody pinged us on this. We added PvP and didn't really gain any subscribers. We added crafting and we gained roughly ten thousand subscribers for three months and then it went back down. So in the grand scheme of things, what I learned is, if you didn't have a feature at launch, you might as well never have it. Whatever you're going to have at launch defines you as a game."

there are other quotes and links and such. just google the name and read. anyhow, i completly disagree with this line of thinking. On another note, wasnt there a list somewhere of things that would never happen in city made by someone a while back?
how many of these things have happened over the years?
I honestly think to a certian extent, the developer was right. Though i know the basis of your complaints, this developer in particular spent alot of time especially up to the launch of his new game dissing on our game here as being some how incomplete or inferior to his new project. Yet we can all see how this worked out for him.

But I think he was right in some ways. PVP in cox has never really achieved balance or wide popularity in part because powers were designed and used in order to give variety and such to power sets, where as in other hero games of late, all the powers might be better balanced for pvp but they are certian all bland and just variations on a theme with boring repetitive animations and effects.

It could also be said that in order to balance an invention system that COX had to bring everyone down a notch or two. And we got ED and GDN and such as a result. Though time wise they might have been widely spaced, we are led to believe by our devs that an invention system was being worked on for years to get it right. I personally cant help but think that those nerfs were the first step in balancing characters so that attributes could be added later that didnt put our powers way way over the top. Which has me worried about the coming incarnate system actually, but thats another post.

Essentially these comments by Statesman emeritus were not so much a slam on the game as a comment on what he felt he learned by developing this game. Though i dont agree with all his comments in reguards to this, and i am thankful for all the development that NC Soft has given this game, I do agree that no feature that has been added after the fact of release has really re-invigorated this game. Yes we see temporary boons to populations after a new feature is added, but we see also those numbers go down as the populations return to a "been there done that" mode.

I often wonder myself where this game would have been if many of these features added over time were in the original release. If we had factions of heroes and villians, crafting, pvp etc all on day one. Sure the game probably wouldhave released later, but when you look at the sucess of other games that have incorperated these features from day one it does beg the question of "what if".
  15. This is going to sound incredibly mean i know, and i dont know how to say it otherwise. However, honestly you really need to stop making excuses. Losing weight is not fun, its not always cheap, its not always easy, and there is definately something to the idea of "No pain no gain".

Your asking for advice and we are giving it to the best of our limited and novice brains. None of us are professionals in weight loss (I am assuming) and none of us have the magic ticket to how to do it. However it just seems every suggestion is being met with a reason for why you cant do something. To the point it almost sounds more like your looking to be given ideas so you can come up with what constitutes to you a logical reason for why you cant do that, therefore your weight problems are not your fault.

My sister was close to 400 pounds at one point. She went to a doctor to get the gastric thingy, but you have to lose 80 pounds on her own, to qualify. And she did it. She had bad feet and legs, she could barely walk from her car to the store without being out of breath. She joined a gym got a trainer to work with her, and basicly just did it and followed instructions.

For calorie intake, well im sorry but if someone needed 2700 calories a day then no hospital would do the gastric bypass thing, because after that operation you eat maybe 4 bites of food at a time every couple hours.

You say you would eat vegtables but cant get them? It says you live in detroit, exactly why dont the stores there sell vegtables? You get your food someplace that your making.

Leftovers and cooking? Well i am not a big cooker either i do it now with the family, but when i lived on my own it did seem like a waste of time to cook things for just me. However something now there is that mostly wasnt around in the quanity back then are alot of low calorie frozen diners. Smart Ones, Healthy Choice etc. If you hit walmarts, targets and watch sales you can get them for pretty cheap sometimes. They are premeasured and portioned and basicly take about 5 minutes to heat up. No left overs. Buy a bunch and throw them in the freezer.

Though i can understand having limited transportation, it doesnt seem impossible to take a bus or get a ride with a friend or family once a week to a real store so you can buy real food. Buy fruit to get you through the week, buy a weeks worth of meals, plan them out and have them ready to go. Spread the food through out the day in smaller meals, time them to when your going to eat them and eat them even if you dont feel starved or hungry so you DONT get starved and have your body shut down your metabolism.

Also even on low fat milk IMO a gallon every couple days is HUGE milk intake. Yes dairy is good, but get low fat yougurt or something to replace the milk. Drink water, or diet drinks and lemonades or something like that. My family of 4 goes through maybe 2 gallons of milk a week. Your drinking that in like half a week by your estimates. Yopliet(SP?) makes some lite yougurts that are like 80 calories and have really good flavors like boston cream pie, lemon pie, key lime, a chocolate cake one etc. They are much better then the old plain or cherry kinda of things i never liked. But they make great snacks with limited calories and a serving of dairy to replace some of that milk.

Basicly though no matter what you have to be willing to change. Though you can say your weight is the result of injury and lack of mobility its still your lack of response to the situation that put the weight on. And yes perhaps if you get back in shape and can move better and exercise more and get around more then you can bring back into the diet some of the things you really missed. But the trick now is getting to that point. Its slow, but you have to be willing to do it, no excuses. For any exercising you feel you can do you need to lower your caloric intake to compensate.

You said something about a pool for 100 dollars is that a month? My wife joined 24 hour fitness who has a pool and its like 30 bucks a month. Yes it might be farther away, but again detroit doesnt have buses? You dont have any friends or family members that would join with you and give you a ride? Seriously you need to just decide you will find a way to deal with all the things your giving as excuses for why this or that wont work. Those suggestions are the basic premise for every diet and weight loss regime i have ever heard of, so its time to apply yourself and stop saying why you cant, and decide your going to find a way to do it.
  16. I hate it when people reffer to other threads and dont link to them. I have no clue what "main" topic your reffering to with your rant here. Anyone have the link?
  17. I have a level 50 plant/thorn, grav/nrgy, mind/psi, earth/fire, fire/fire.... And i think im missing one or two in there somewhere.

If you dont like long animations then ya i would skip thorns, and probably actually earth assualt as well. As far as animations go, i would stay ice, fire, or energy assualt are your best bets, but not maybe for synergy with your main pool.

I guess the question is what or how are you going to play the game. If you play solo or in teams you need to keep that in mind. Are you theme minded, where you like going ice/ice, or fire/fire or do you mix and match and have no issues.

My first dom was my grav/nrgy. I really liked playing her. The draw back is sorta a late bloomer for control, its really not there in a strong manner until you get wormholes in the 20s. I knew i already liked the energy pool from my blaster and damage was nice, you can take bone crusher at like level 2.

My second dom was the Fire/Fire. He was fun to play, animated well, had good damage and control. I really cant complain about him, but i also kinda lost intrest in him after a bit. Dont know why might just be me being distracted easily by new shinnies.

Third i roled the earth/fire. I REALLY liked the way this one played. Earth IMO surprised the hell out of me with how much control it really offered, and IMO again by far has the most useful AOE hold in all the control sets by way of its mechanics and recharge rate. The draw back was that because many of the powers in earth spawned seudo pets, domination didnt help out as much on the controls, but i found with fire i didnt need much more then what i was given. This ended up finally being the first domaintor i found worth the cost of perma'ing out.

I messed around in the mean time with plant/thorn and i think i did an ice/elec when that assualt pool was added but really didnt care for either. Plant was nice for control but kinda a one hit wonder in that really you get your best and most useful power at 12 and its pretty much there for every mob. I was used to the thorns from a spines scrapper, but I agree if you feel like the animations are overly taxing to watch it becomes painful after a while.

Finally i caved into everyone and decided to try the mind pool which i always avoided due to lack of pets, and the psi pool which i always avoided because it was pink(not a problem now) and because it used to be so lopsided in its late maturity.(which has been helped as of late) This is now my favorite dominator i have. I dont miss the pets at all, i find that with the rebalance psi does good enough damage on its now now, and mind offers an amazing amount of control. Mind basicly gives you a ST and AOE of like everything. You get a ST sleep, hold and confuse, and a AOE sleep hold and confuse. Even better the ST confuse doesnt break stealth so you can control a boss mob before anyone is even thinking of attacking you. Psi has ok ST damage now, but still has its strenght in the AOEs from the cone and PSW. But also has the added benefit of a regen/recovery buff which especially if you dont plan on going perma is helpful. But when i perma'd this dom i never looked back. Right now i was thinking of trying to solo a Teravolt respec mission with him just for kick and giggles and to see if i could do it.

I currently am playing a level 43 elec/earth dom that seems solid enough but is kinda having end issues now with all the heavier attacks in the line. Its not terrible but seems to be more noticable then other dominators i have played. Elec is nice, but has alot of holes IMO. Or atleast choiced that made no sense to me, like taking an aoe attack that does a single tick of knockdown and barely any damage. But you do get an AOE sleep that works like volcanic gases which is really nice, and an AOE confuse that chains off the hit of a single target and both are relatively strong powers even with just the initial slotting of accuracy.

So I tested myself as to how long i could walk before start to feel back pain that leads to the thing I mentioned above. Well turns out... it's only 8-9 minutes. Every work out program I see says 10 minutes is pretty much the minimum to get yourself to a point where it'll make a difference.

From this test i can say that there is a tremendous amount of pain I feel, but I am in no way even remotely tired, worn out, or even beginning to raise my heart rate. So Obviously I don't want to hurt myself or risk furthering my back problems but I need to lose weight...so the thing I've thought about doing is walking x minutes, till the pain goes away, and then going again. The problem this is i don't know how much good it would do, obviously anything is better than nothing but during the 10 minutes it takes to recover to go out again I can't do anything and it seems like a waste of time to spend something like 2-3 hours a day to get to a distance that I would apparently start seeing some weight lose if I wouldn't see that weight lose and I would just be in pain for half the day and or wasting time i could be doing something else... I could just walk a mile straight and deal with the pain (i can do that), but I have no clue how much damage that would do to my spine and I have no way of finding out at the moment and i really don't want to risk being paralyzed from the waste down. so...any recommendations?

Also I've pretty much decided at the moment my eating habits probably aren't going to change. I eat one big meal a day...roughly 1700-3000 calories depending on what I'm eating that day. Which is more or less around the calorie count i need to be at my ideal weight.

So I'm wondering what are your opinions on the single meal with intermittent fasts thing that I've heard about (make sense considering how we evolved) vs eating 3-6 meals a day, because for me fasting and such is a lot easier than eating 3 meals a day.
First on the walking. They are telling you to walk to get up and get active and get your heart rate going. There are other ways to do this. First off, i highly suggest joining a gym for 2 reasons. First if your paying a membership fee your more likely to make sure your taking advantage of it, and second many memberships come atleast with an initial consultation with a personal trainer. It doesnt mean you have to continue with him, but he can get you going in the right direction.

Also i would suggest joining a gym with an indoor heated pool. Based on your saying the problems with you back, it sounds to me like your having issues with even the impact from normal walking. Swimming, either outrightly swimming for real, or even walking laps in the pool allow for much less strain to be put on your joints and back by way of offseting the weight of your body. The main thing on walking or swimming is not really working out muscles, but getting a cardio workout in.

Also others might dispute this, but something i found was that in terms of cardio, and workout i say work what you can. If its the impact a gym also will have eliptical trainers and bikes that wont put the impact on your legs and back as badly.

For your eating habits, you might be in the normal caloric range of your prime weight but as was mentioned, your trying to lose weight, so if you cant get to be more active that coloric intake needs to come down to your level of activity.

The way your eating IMO is a mistake. Again i am not a proffesional and have my own weight issues, but its always been my understanding that its actually better to eat smaller portions throughout the day then one large portion. I know my sisters trainer told her to eat like 6-7 times a day but to have them be snack sized portions of food rather then a meal. The rational being that even if you dont feel hungry, by not eating, that evolutionary instinct you mentioned, tells your body "hey we just ate but dont know where the next meal is coming from" as such your body stays in kinda a starvation mode, where it holds on to more calories and fats for the possibility that you wont be able to eat when your hungry and it might need the stored up weight at that time.

By eating smaller portions more often your body is accustom to eating and getting nurishment and is more willing to part with the calories you intake you might not need right there.

Another trick i have a friend that swears by is he tries to find stuff with empty calories to eat. Things like plain fiber bars, plain lettuce and stuff. he swears that by eating something that has little to no calories but has bulk, that he loses weight because he doesnt eat the stuff in as big of quanities that is bad for him before he gets full. The only thing i have heard that kinda supported this was back a few years ago, i heard a report about chinese food in america. Where people were exploring how bad it was for you. With the argument "well why doesnt china have these weight issues" it was theorized in the report it was because in america the portion of the main course was way larger then it was in china. Where in china the supplimented a smaller main course with things like large portions of rice or noodles.
  19. Iknow this has probably already been said, but frankly this doesnt excite me to much.

Even if they are slottable, on almost all my toons i use maybe 2-4 slots on fitness. And i dont see this changing reguardless of if its inherent or not. If i need to slot stamina im slotting it. So now basicly i get 3 more power choices, but really have no slots for them without totally reworking or nerfing other powers to make room for them. So frankly its like thanks for giving it to us, but i dont see this changing any of my toons drasticly. Those 3 extra powers are likely going to be QoL powers like teleport alley or something like that rather then anything useful due to lack of support for them.

Mara came off to me as more of a character loyal to Palpatine more then the empire. She would have followed whatever he said. If I recall she was an orphan and when Palpatine found her he kinda gave her life direction and she followed that with her loyalty. Her desire to kill Luke originally was more based on for years she had felt that she failed the emporer by not stopping luke on the sail barge when she had the chance to, then later he goes on to turn vader who ends up killing the emporer.

If memory serves Yoda was the only one that had misgivings about it (I haven't seen it in a couple of years), but he still fought alongside stormtroopers. In fact, the most hated character in all of the Star Wars universe (Jar Jar Binks) was the puppet that Palpatine used to shut down the Senate.
I did see revenge of the sith many times. The entire senate, or many of them enough to make "Thunderous Applause" as described in the movie, support the creation of the empire. So to the original question, yes i personally believe that with thousands of star systems being represented in the senate, not all of them must have been in on the plan, infact i think they pretty much show the majority of the envolved systems as being the leaders of the sepratist armies. So many of those senators you could say supported the creation of the empire on the basis of the merits of creating a safe and stable society to live within.

It was close to 20 years after this that the senate was finally totally abolished and done away with. Its mentioned in a new hope. Now granted its made to sound like teh senators have become nothing more then figure heads in that time, but still were serving the purpose of giving off appearances of being the voices of the people.

Jar jar was not used to shut down the senate. He was used to make a motion to have palpatine be given the power to raise an army for the republic thats it. It was a political hot bed issue that no one wanted to introduce, so he told him that Amidala would have done it had she not been running for her life at the time and Jar jar did it in her place.

I think the thing to remember for good or bad is that alot of people dont really care what kinda government they live under unless it directs to them specificly to quality of life. Not many of us are reporters or religous leaders where freedom of speech or religion are an everyday reliance to do our jobs. So honestly i could really see alot of the population of the republic just saying "Oh well, not like im still not gonna be selling speeder parts on tatooine be it republic or empire."

  23. You know most of that list I can say i understand as a matter of taste. Though say like my mom loved the Mary Tyler Moore show, i never really got it. But then i was never a single woman trying to carve out a career at a time when women were new to the work place.

The show i dont get being on that list is MASH. Just seriously IMO that show was so perfect. It could take a subject like war and make an episode that had you laugh out loud and by the end be almost in tears. I can remember tearing up a bit when Hawkeye gives Radar one of the few offical salutes he ever gave anyoneon the show. Or getting choked up when Radar enters the operating room to tell everyone Henry died in a plane crash.

The writing, stories, concept, acting everything on that show IMO was a class act and really just showed the TV industry that a sitcom could be more then a laugh track and sight gags.

    Perfect Endings

I think M*A*S*H ended really perfectly. They didnt try any gimicks or anything, they just gave you the emotional good bye you wanted.

I would imagine there is a schedule but they break that up with possible moments of intrests. Isnt there something else of the DC Universe i have seen being advertised ONLINE that is coming out around this time?
