  1. My two cents. I am the self-proclaimed priest of the Howling Twilight.

Maximum recharge. Every spawn, when available. Why?

What other power is Targetted AoE AUTOHIT minion level stun, slow, -regen. So, even if a dark user doesn't stun the lieuts in one shot, additional stuns that may hit such as mastermind/protector bot photon grenades or seeker drones, OR some aura like dark mastery Oppressive Gloom -- then you have stunned nullifiers, tac op malta, nemesis lieutenants, AoE style. Caveat, offhand I don't recall the necro users having a stun.

Mix in Fearsome Stare, Darkest Night, and Shadow Fall, you have some mean damage mitigation.

Planned organization day (meet and greet, optional thing) Dec 28th 5PM ish EDT. First Death from Below: 1/4
Some indicated interest, but I am not jumping to conclusions. If you want in on Wednesday, please let me know. This is the current roster.

OP: Comicsluvr, set a day and time and people will fill in. This IS viral.

Great minds and all that. Think about this: ninjas are defense based. Ninjas would thrive with a "pre-heal" regen buff. Time has regen, regen boost (temporal selection) and extra healthy scoops of defense.

When I see my time characters, I see them right in the thick of things with time juncture. I would suggest necro, demons, ninjas which are all melee centric. Heal, debuff, and kill all in an amoeba formation.

As an aside, an all melee pet team would not be ideal. Saying that, play what you like.

Actually, I meant Wednesday in a generic after Christmas format.

And Comicsluvr, would you expect less from Masterminds?

  7. If we posted availabilities for week days and weekend times, we could get mastermind mayhem going at different times and cross-pollinate experiences on the weekends.
  8. I have it in my Robots/Time and my Time/Rad defender. It does work. You can see the little tesla cage hold style animations pop up when it procs. It is soooo worth it.
  9. Depending on schedule, I am in: I can't do tuesday night. It's our coalition night.

I have a lot of alts, I have a lot of masterminds. I will wait til we have a roster. OP can you sticky a roster with selections, modified in the first post? I can play the non-glamour MM.
  10. Rikefort - these inquiries are all hashed out by forcefield users at some time. These are GOOD questions. This is probably a sticky worthy thread.

I like invisibility that I have the option of turning off and on. Stealth power itself gives you a smidge more defense. Also, a toggle like sprint with a stealth proc IO in it means you can have it on or off, for hostage situations.

On a robot guy, I would emphasize the first AoE power you get from the bots is at level 26 when you equip the assault bot and he gets flamethrower. I usually play some kind of focused fire. You can split your stance and leave some of the bots on defensive for body guard of the MM. You can focus fire: have the pets ALL attack one target. Which I do even at higher levels on sappers because the _mastermind_ does NOT get endurance protection from insulation bubble, but I digress.

Some of the others discussed the usage of repulsion field and force bubble. Force bubble is VERY useful, especially solo with six robots that each deal their own knockback .

You need line of sight to attack foes, but force bubble doesn't work like that. You don't have to see the foe to repel them. You can bunch up stuff in a corner, hiding behind a box. This proves very useful in a certain Tin Mage battle with the Director and his malta minions. For melee teammates, you don't want to push foes outside the force bubble so the scrappers et. al. don't get dispersion, but again, solo, your robots have VERY good range.

With practice you can be in line of sight for supremacy, yet out of direct line of fire from foes.

I also suggest taking PFF and stealth. YOU (before summoning) can stealth/PFF to an objective, drop PFF, recall/assemble the team: profit.
  11. I have a level 38ish Demons/Sonic. Screaming demonic rockstars was the first thing that popped in my head when I heard MMs would get sonic resonance. I have been alting as hard as ever, but he's my go to guy for the Hero Merits in the Who Will Die TFs that I solo from time to time.

The resists from the ember demon with the sonic resonance are nice, and I hardly heal in common situations due to the ember demon's AoE heal being enough to keep the green bars going on fellow pets receiving mitigated damage. Demon Prince + Living Hellfire + disruption field = melee/dominator pet juggernaut.

I would agree that mercs would be rough going with sonic, but I think ninjas could be possible since their good burst damage would be even higher with sonic disruption on the melee lieutenant pet. Unlike some buffs/debuff, you COULD put sonic disruption on a veteran buff pet and get the same debuff. The mobility of the debuff should not be underestimated. Resistance shields are far away from being overpowered, but it buffs better than poison or TA (yeah I know, they are pure debuff )
  12. I have a storm summoner, of the medieval variety. I want him to have a 'piece' (wand, staff, titan weapon, single wield melee) that he doesn't even have to have activate a power, kind of like alternate animations on sonic resonance. Wizard, fairy, arabic jhin, african shaman, native american medican man. I want to wave something and make the clouds part in angry claps of lightning.

We have glowie hand auras. Burning eyes abound. We now even have skid marks that trail behind teammates.

Or, you could let my pet German Shepherd do it
  13. Requirements?

Babylon 5: Who are you? What do you want?

Search for the Holy Grail: What is your name? ... What is your quest? ... What is your favorite colour?

City of Heroes: Requirements? Play what you like.

    ...

I have to vote hover/fly/group fly.

I don't drag pets with group fly across zones, but it is very useful for positioning in missions where there is a change in elevation and you want the pets *here* and NOT run up some random catwalk and aggro Cthulu and everyone else on the way.

    MM toss up?

    /bind {key} petsay_all <em drinkenriche> nom!

That should quiet them down. You can substitute any static emote for drinkenriche like jugglefire to keep them quiet and busy.

    MM toss up?

Thugs/Dark gets some hefty debuffs earlier than Thermal would with the demons. On the other side, thermal gets resistance shields and forge to boost damage and survivability. Lowbie thermal users also enjoy heals that don't require an accuracy check.

I have both and play them very similarly. My mastermind stays in the general vicinity of the pets to maximize heals to the pets. Another difference is that Bruiser is more of a Brute and grabs a lot of melee range damage. The Demon Prince acts more like an ice/ice dominator in my estimation, but is also quite durable and when he get his ice sword out, he takes a back seat to no one in the melee damage department.

Gang war and Living Hellfire function about the same, but the Living Hellfire has an additional boost to the targeted pets effectiveness.
  17. There is more work to be done on this build. First you don't have enough recovery. You show one slot in health and stamina each. You haven't slotted enough end reduction in the leadership pool powers and the fighting powers (weave) to keep you running.

Far Sight and Chrono Shift are underslotted for recharge. I like Time Juncture and could make a case for six slotting it, but not with a slow IO set, especially with all the other slows you have running. Tohit Debuff is what is more conventional. With a little bit of recharge and some accuracy, you should be fine with time crawl, 3 slots tops. Time Crawl is what sets up the special debuffs in Distortion Field and Slowed Response.

Hasten only needs 3 level 25 (or better) Recharge IOs in it. Four doesn't get you more than 1 or 2 % after the enhancement diversification limits. You should also find a nice defensive power to slot a -kb IO enhancement (such as karma).

One last suggestion, in distortion field, at some point slotting the lockdown mag proc will reap great rewards.

edit: I see you have -kb in the hoarfrost. While you are leveling, you would want it sooner. I don't know the current level of the proposed character.
  18. I took an early shot at an ice/ice dom that I dropped. When electric control came out, I was fascinated with the set, delighted with static field, and overjoyed with synaptic overload. My young dominator in his level 30s was able to drain Eochai during the Halloween event to a mewing kitten.

The important tactic to early dominating is: hold/control the spawn, and THEN, unload on the untethered/unimpeded foe, finish them off. They are the most dangerous. Jumping in and out works because of static field and conductive aura. Conductive aura will initially interrupt spawns as well, so moving in and out has many advantages. If you can fight with a held foe in the conductive aura - even better. I like electric assault and its melee attacks, too.
  19. I will confirm, all robots have energy attacks that can target and ignite the oilslick. The Assault bot has two AoE fire attacks. The little drones at level 32 have a cone full-auto laser blast that lights everything up

Edit: I mentioned those powers since they require no extra 'aiming'
  20. Hail of bullets on top of tar patch, or freezing rain, or after heat loss has similar results, but not as good as a fulcrum. I have a storm/dp and a kinetic/dp. I wouldn't think of skipping hail of bullets. Empty clips, rain of bullets, and hail of bullets in the defender damage multiplier zone reaps the xp quickly.

Dual Pistols also leverage synergy with each time of round depending on primary set and foe. Fire users taste my ice bullets, and fire damage for zombies, ghosties and general damage increase. Especially for kinetic, do the math. Check out how the damage DEBUFF stacks up on non-trash npcs from the chemical rounds. Kinetics gets all kinds of tools to work with in dual pistols and the tier nine mini-nuke is pretty nice.
  21. You will be pleasantly surprised how much better pets perform with farsight. Make sure you make that build extra heavy on recharge bonuses.
  22. I like this build.I like how you balanced the special damage/resistance IOs with the special 5 and 6 set pet IO defense set bonuses. Another feature that you didn't publicize is how frickin high your regen is

You mentioned you wanted the hate on the thugs, but the balance in defense, S/L resistance and that top-notch regen coupled with the bodyguard mechanic should make your mastermind very survivable. The only thing I would switch is a LotG +7.5 recharge instead of the karma.
  23. Wow, all those seeker drones and photon grenades...

    what? ... what?
  24. Not sure of the details of the Thugs/FF vs Bots/FF, but it clearly depends on the base defense of the protector bots bubbles vs. the thugs leadership and if you slotted defense equally.

I am not sure on the specifics of the enforcers leadership, but I think it applies to the 'caster' - the enforcer, while the mastermind, and each protector bot only get one shield.
  25. 1. Not sure on Chorno Shift, it's not recharging as intended for defenders.

    2. You may have up to 5 of the 7.5% LotG recharge bonuses. Because you don't have to have 5 of a set to get this, you may also rack up 5 more IO sets like Basilisk Gaze that provide 7.5% recharge as a set bonus.

    3. Leadership is really good on defenders. I suggest a few power selections to make Time Manipulation easier. I went with a Teleport/hover combo myself. When in a fight on a slope, stairs, ramp, etc, railings map objects like crates, containers can block the debuff and buff aspects of time manipulation. I like to hover above my teammates especially so that temporal mending hits all the characters and pets.

I like teleport because I can instantly begin applying time juncture to a spawn. I would still keep a stealth proc in sprint (or any of its cousin prestige sprints), and a stealth proc and a LotG in hover. I would fit in vengeance at fifty instead of combat jump for another LotG, and keep the -KB proc in TP.

Time Crawl is too essential to leave until level 41. It is also a one/two slot wonder. It recharges fast enough, doesn't cost much end, but sets up the other time debuffs. Also, you need the modest -regen for hard targets. There are a lot of suitable options to push up to 41 including tactics.

I certainly am in favor of using neutrino bolt for a proc 'tommy gun'. The fact that it recharges so quickly fits well with a clicky set like Time manipulation. Having fun with proton volley and the blam blam blam blam is what makes flexible builds so much fun in CoH.

Force of nature does cover the mezz hole in Time Manipulation. Good luck. I like my Time/rad defender a lot, too.
