FF Mastermind Stealth and PFF Questions
If i have PFF toggled, can I still command pets? Do they still count if they are in bodyguard mode? Basically, I'm thinking i could use it to tankermind really easily (which is why I assume these things do not function).

If they're in BG mode, you'll still get the BG 2 shares of damage.
With that in mind, I was wondering if I had stealth or invisibility on, and just commanded my pets, would that break stealth or invis? Or would I remain effectively aggro-less? What about if I gave an inspir to a pet? |
One other concern is the toggles in FF, particularly Repulsion Field and Force Bubble. How much aggro would these produce if I had them toggled and were stealthed? Give that my pets would all be attacking. Thanks for all your help |
Having said all that, don't be afraid of a little aggro. FF provides good tools for tankerminding. Even to just initiate combat, you'd be perfectly fine in BG mode as aggro will shift to pets. When poop hits the fan, that's when you can toggle on PFF and make your way to safety.
Global = Hedgefund (or some derivation thereof)
Really, with robots/force field you can just toggle Force Bubble on (along with other defenses) and walk up to a mob, then let the bots defeat everyone as they start reacting to being pushed around.
It cheers me up when I feel down in real life.
Alright, thanks for the info.
To spell out an implicit part of the answers you got...
Masterminds aren't super-good for stealthing if you expect to, or find yourself needing to, fight after stealthing to whatever, simply because it's so much work to get your minions up each time. If you have a nice secure corner or alcove to yourself, then three pet summons and two upgrades, plus anything you might be doing like buffing or deploying secondary power set items, is no big deal. It can be a real pain to do in the midst of a fight, particularly against enough force to kill pets before you've finished upgrading and buffing them.
This is not a sentence of doom on the whole project. You could, just for starters, stealth and then get out just your tier 3 pet, or the tier 2 and 3 pets, and let the tier 1 ones wait for the time being. You could have a rhythm of summoning, upgrading, and buffing that's relatively robust - what matters, after all, is that it work for you doing the things you want to do, not everyone's spread of possible cases. There are other things that could help, too, no doubt.
Personally, I ended up unslotting the Stealth IO I'd put in my my main mastermind and handing it off to an alt for future use.
Rikefort - these inquiries are all hashed out by forcefield users at some time. These are GOOD questions. This is probably a sticky worthy thread.
I like invisibility that I have the option of turning off and on. Stealth power itself gives you a smidge more defense. Also, a toggle like sprint with a stealth proc IO in it means you can have it on or off, for hostage situations.
On a robot guy, I would emphasize the first AoE power you get from the bots is at level 26 when you equip the assault bot and he gets flamethrower. I usually play some kind of focused fire. You can split your stance and leave some of the bots on defensive for body guard of the MM. You can focus fire: have the pets ALL attack one target. Which I do even at higher levels on sappers because the _mastermind_ does NOT get endurance protection from insulation bubble, but I digress.
Some of the others discussed the usage of repulsion field and force bubble. Force bubble is VERY useful, especially solo with six robots that each deal their own knockback .
You need line of sight to attack foes, but force bubble doesn't work like that. You don't have to see the foe to repel them. You can bunch up stuff in a corner, hiding behind a box. This proves very useful in a certain Tin Mage battle with the Director and his malta minions. For melee teammates, you don't want to push foes outside the force bubble so the scrappers et. al. don't get dispersion, but again, solo, your robots have VERY good range.
With practice you can be in line of sight for supremacy, yet out of direct line of fire from foes.
I also suggest taking PFF and stealth. YOU (before summoning) can stealth/PFF to an objective, drop PFF, recall/assemble the team: profit.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
I'm not really aiming to stealth missions. It's not a matter of getting to objects using it, its more about managing threat in combat. If all i can do is buff my pets and wait for the best, I don't want to be attacked. I figured if I was stealthed, I would have less threat. And perhaps if my minions go down, i might be able to get away before taking threat.
I all i have a few questions about a /Force Fields MM, and about the Stealth/Invisibility powers.
If i have PFF toggled, can I still command pets? Do they still count if they are in bodyguard mode? Basically, I'm thinking i could use it to tankermind really easily (which is why I assume these things do not function).
If I can't use PFF to tankermind, my next best bet is to get all aggro off me. I will have bubbled my minions, so they will be tougher than me.
