The only thing this would expand on is the sk system. The entire game would have AE style sk and would basically do away with mentors in the regular content. I haven't seen any arguments in this thread that gives any reasons as to why the sidekick system in AE is worse than the sidekick sytem in regular content. Why do people opposed to this idea dislike the AE sidekick system? Prove that the AE sk system is a failure, and you'll convince me this is a bad idea.
The actual autoside kick function just enables this sort of game play mentality.....and makes it realy easy to level lower levels faster.....its simple realy...players can make any type of encounter....and either through ingame play knowledge or trial and error that make the easiest encounters to easily level from....this then creates players who when they actualy play the game...become the type of players everyone hates......
Becasue while everyone was spoon feeding them....these people learned not how to be a team player but how to spunge exp....and once they dont have any exp incentive they actualy have no more incentive to play.
Yep they say they reached level 50 and thats it....
Sure they might try a task force or two.....but when they play they are the ones that whine about not having any powers they make terrible mistakes and most of the time log out or quit....with a quick cable diconnection or the illfated they have to go.....
ANywise that is the failure of the Architect Entertainment....they(the developers of this game) really messed up....they should have changed the system so it would auto-exemplar only...ie. a level 50 would be exmplared to the lowest level player in the group....making high level content not accessible to anyone of extreme low levels....also the experience points should have been eliminated all together....they should have kept just influence and prestige and tickets...but go figure.....this is what happens when they plan things on paper only
In fact if you want to see a real good example of the Architect Entertainment failure....go to ebay or gagora or whatever other site...and look at just how many characters and accounts are being sold......oh excuse me....i must phrase it the way the sellers say it....just look at the(amount of time they sell) -
Its an interesting idea...but i already can for see what sort of things this will bring.
It will cause people to loiter around alot more in atlas park and start street killing everything.
Missions that require people to kill specific things will be the only things people take in fact most misisons will be ignored entirely for street killing....

Becasue you can have alot more people in the zone area.
There would be nothing stopping a team of people holding all the targets while a bunch of new players proceded to slaughter the foes....and everything being equal...you would always have a supply of higher level with more powers to do it...becasue they would be board....as leveling wouldnt hold much incentive.
Powerleveling would become absolutley insane....worse then the architect entertainment (which should have actualy done exemplaring only and not auto side kicking and shouldnt give experience points only influence and prestige and tickets)
What would be one of the saddest things as part of this change...if it happened....is the danager zones would become obsolete.....there would be no danger there....everything would always be the same....players would say why would they want to go there when they could just stay somewhere else that has a leveling guy a hospital and everything else.
In addition the entire use of leveling would practicaly begone....there would be no real incentive to be level 50 as oppsed to being level 15....yes they would get more powers....but the actual incentive is to feel like you can accomplish something...and you cant feel that way if you never get more powerful then anything else.
And a really bad side effect...would be the constant attacks no matter where you would go you would get attacked....everything would attack you.....you would have no reprieve...
sure you could hard code into the data that a lower level creature wouldnt attack you...but then people as they are....
Whould lead them to you to attack you.
Thats just how it would happen.....they already teleported things into buildings....they already kept leading monsters into the area of portal corp....heck they grief the hammidon stuff.....
All your suggestion would do is make things unfun very quickly and give griefers a bigger edge and at the same time make power leveling extremely easy.
I am not saying that you have all bad ideas...i am simply pointing out the flaws and things this would bring...there would be no way to circumvent those things i mention...no hard coding no nothing....
The entire flag system as has been proven so many times in other games that didnt have a level system.....is that its easy to break...easy to exploit....and makes people quit alot faster. -

Its a new Mastermind power...
Its weird but someone asked me about the powers for master minds not long before the expansion was announced....
They thought i had told them a bunch of stuff...which i did not since i had never spoken to them before about master mind sets.....and i don't have any connections to NC soft other then playing this game alot and actualy reading the forums and stuff.
But i told them what the developers had said on different occasions....
Demon summoning was a planned Master Mind power...so was this one based on the Carnival of Shadows...and another one based on The Family....and believe it or not....it was mentioned that an alien one was planned as well.....which was at the time(right after city of villains was released) going to possibly have rikti in it.....but the actual rikti where not liked that much by the person saying that statement...and so they admited that they where not sure if they would use them or not...they also would not say when or even if they would release these groups....
It kind of goes on par with the shapeshifter archtype the development team had kicking about that they never released....nor did they ever say what exactly its powers where...only that it was sort of like Beast Boy.
Sorry that was a bit more information then you asked for....but i like to add stuff to get people remembering and talking about stuff.
I am wondering if they will put that set of powersuit stuff in this expansion as well.....
And before you ask...yes the one guy uses dual pistols thats another new powerset. -

If so its broken!!! Either that of the text description for those Enhancements are wrong.....which means thats a nother bug....oh well
I think everyone should send in bug reports about this...
And while everyone is at it...point out the warshade pet and the necromancy master mind spirit pet also cannot use these enhancements....when they technicaly should be able to since they fall within the text desciption for those types of enhancements.

I hate Dimension shifty for a couple of reasons.
Its not an escape power since it doesnt hit all targets.
Its not something to take some encounter out of a fight since they still will come and get you....that whopping 10 seconds they are gone isnt going to help very much.
And if you do try to actualy use it for escaping lets say or to stop a group from hitting your group...the actual immobolization everyone brings up....doesnt ever last as long as the phase shift portion...so it allows the enmies to get into a good posistion to attack.
At most it messes up the AI of any pets you have and any non-player characters that are on your side.....
Basically i find the power broken in its attempt to do what its text describes...i find it broken because its usage isnt situational...its retarded....its been like this since as far back as i can remember.
I am probably biased....but go figure there are alot of powers that i consider broken inthis game....i have listed them and every so often someone mentions them in a forum....but go figure that nothing has ever been done about them.
What this game needs is someone going through and actualy checking each power to see if it has the right flow for it...there are at least 10 powers i can think of that dont work right or dont follow the correct flow for what they do.( by flow i mean energy cost, recharge time, and animation to use it compared to exactly what the power does.) -

In a paid new exapnsion they got i think one dungeon some new sets of armor and that was it...Wrath of the Lich King was the name of the expansion.....
ANywise for the amoutn people pay....for this game and i include ones like me who pay yealy and pay less that way.....i think we get a heck of alot of goodies.
And by the way.....you are only renting some memory space ona drive and allowed to play this game....we dont anything in this game not even our characters......so i don;t think it can be really considered any mroe of rip off then renting Movies...Getting a Library Book or having a magazine subscription. -
You know this is neat and all...but i miss the good old fashioned space ships hovering over atlas park.....
I mean its neat they come and do bombing runs for 30 minutes stretches and such...it might be neater if they actualy did a real invasion and didnt stop for long periods.
Also might be neat to see the architect buildings get shut down due to the invasion....might make people go and actualy play the rest of the game for a little bit. -

I have some advice....
Dont rely on the Psionic Sniper shot(Psionic Lance).
At one time a long time ago it actualy could do some good damge and didnt penalize you as much....it wasnt uber....but it later got balanced by some weird percption of balance and scale is really bad.
I am not saying to not take it....i am just saying don't count on it.(it doesnt do what a sniper shot is supposed to do...and its damage and range are sub-par at best now...there was atime you could out range a nemesis or crey sniper with it...but it got balanced...by someone who probably never tested or checked the sniper shots in this game)
Another Power to avoid is called scramble Thoughts...i tried to use this power....it supposed to leave things disoriented...and does minor damage...aka...it does 1 damage and its disorient suffers fromt he old being used by a defender or blaster problem as in its duration is non-existent......again i blame the person who supposedly tested the powers.
Psionic Tornado is an area of effect atatck it knocks things up...but if you put any of the knockback enehancers in it it knocks them back.....this is another example of failure to test things or know what enhancements are supposed to do....a long time ago knockback enahncers got fixed to help knock things up if the power knocked them up.....but this got fixed....by a pacth that broke the changes....again non-testign or looking at how something worked does this sort of thing.
Your best bet is to concentrate onthe basics....Psionic Dart, Mental blast, telekinetic blast, will domination, psychic focus and psychic wail...with maybe taking psionic lance for some added blaster damage buff after using it for your alpha shot.
As for some differences between the psionic blasts of defenders and blasters...you will probably quickly note that will domination on a balster is alot weaker,,,it does less damage and does not make a target sleep most of the time at least for a blaster.
A Blasters big atatcks are believe it or not Mental Blast and Telekinetic Blast...
By the way Telekinetic Blast doesnt do psionic damage only...its very effective against machines(i.e. the stuff with high resists to psionic damage)
I think the best advice i can give is to be prepared for your slow atatck speeds compared to anyone else...ona team you will probably hit last alot...and end up missing the kill shots alot....its no big deal....you will be on par with damage when you do hit.
I could give you more advice if you had a secondary like psychic as well....
Then i would tell you that the confusion world toggle power...doesnt really work that well...i am sure the developement team knows it doesnt work very well...and i am sure it is more or less some form of joke to the extent in how it works.
Kind of like the sleep gas mine that a poison using master mind can get...another joke power.
Hoefuly this was a bit helpful....
I have alot of experience with psionic blast and and the changes its had....and it usage on all archtypes....
I myself enjoy the powers....though i don't enjoy them as much as i did....becasue the powers keep getting balanced...which makes them do less damage and become far less effective....which can be a big turn off when you know someone is doing their low damage attacks and your supposedly high damage attacks can't even compete when they are fully enhanced.
I am hoping someone in the powers group will actualy wake up and notice. -

Nah....spoiled....its not that....you where probably just getting hit with your own secondary effect the -defense.
Seams to be a small bug with blasters doing that to them selves...doesnt show up in the game's own statistics either....but you will notice it when you play.(hero stats seams to be able to list he effect i don't know why the game itself doesnt)
It was the most noticable on an ice/ice character i play...i slowed my own recharge down alot.....and ended up getting hold badges...when I never got held....(my guess is the slowing fromthe ice is considered a form of hold LMAO)
it seems electricity also gives points toward the hold badge too btw.....
Anywise that's probably why you actualy felt more squishy.... -
You know sniper shots where not always this bad.
They actualy did have a long range and did some pretty descent damage once.
But now they are simply a hold over from the past that will get you a a good laugh from other people watching you use them.
I realized the death cry for the sniper shots...when i had to send in a bug report becasue my high damage second attack in my blast set had a longer range and did more damage then my enhanced sniper shot. -
I keep looking and i still don't see this archvillain and minions selectable.
So....what happend did he teleport away fromthe mission architect?
Did his minions come and rewrite the database for the mission architect system?
I am thinking since Bobcat's minions seam to be missing as well....then maybe they came and got antimatter and his minions and took them someplace.
Did they go for coffee?

A Mission i made sufferd from an ambush problem
The problem is that the ambushes in the game are set to be infinite int he mission architect....whihc means they keepo coming....
And i had some tough boss types show up....but they kept multiplying...=O_O=
I actualy was able to crash the architect server...at least i think it was me...as i decided to make a gigantic spawn of 500 from an ambush and kept going beyond that to see what would happen.
ANywise after i got feedback i first unpublished becasue i ddint know what to do.....i then went and fixed it....i ended up having to redo alot becasue bugs kept pooping up...
Everything fromt he boss for no reason appearing at the front of the mission...in addition to being in the back......to ambushes sedning 6 copies of the same thing at the same time....to just plain weirdness from the architect system
ANywise i persoanly went to the trouble of fixing stuff when people send me feedback....
I want other players to have fun with the mission i made...
I even went so far to sugesst a team....but most everyone just solos my stuff....
I persoanly soloed my own stuff....even when it was bugged....and soloed it again when people told me stuff to check it....i then saw the problem that appeared from no where and fixed it....but go figure.....
Most people dont want to replay the mission so i guess thats ok..... -

What i think hes refering to is that by 57 months a new char(lvl 1) will have 9 Costume tokens as soon as the create the character and go treu thier vet rewards. So i can see some being insulted or annoyed or even peeved by the fact that a vet reward is more geared towards the minority rather then the majority.

This is an example of the devlopers rewarding somthing at the wrong time.....most likely due to lack of testing.....or maybe they did test but just didnt listen to the testers.
In my opinion the reward for 50% should be at the point where the person would get their first free costume token....
I mean i dont mean to sound lame about this....but i have characters wiht 100s of free costume tokens on them...i think i might have used the veteran reward ones maybe a few times....but thats about it.
This reward should be made into an incentive...something that will make people want to stay to get it...but also should be worth while enough to get people to stay playing.
Its like the developers have forgotten what its like to be a new character or new player...
They come up with geat ideas...but their timing and implementation show some really weird lack of vision and forethought.
What might help their group....is if they actualy read the patch information stuff before it was released....
You know they might notice then that they for example: balanced say some defensive set by making it half as effective....then went and did a global balance at the same time....halving that same set again....then cretead an enhancement diversification...whihc resulted in halving that same set again.....the net result was a set that performed at 12% of what it used to.....
And all the developement team seams to be able to say about it is that they are mystified why no one wants to play that set.

Ah yes i ran into this...
To give an example of this.....
I made a Mission that had an object the player was to find and click.
This was then supposed to trigger the defeat boss thing.....as i didnt want to have a boss around all the time to make it so they could just be beaten up fast.
When you battle the boss as it loses health i was trying to make more guys appear to help the boss....but i was not allowed to do this....
I also wasnt allowed to put an ambush after the boss was defeated.
Thats what that means......as i said i had to change my misison......the actual mission architect logic is a bit messed up in that way.
I have had the other problems...like the emote problem...to give an example i set the main boss and her minions around her to be basically be asleep(at least thats what i was going for)...they where on the floor in unconcius emote mode.....
The effect when you play is that the minions are all in the unconscious emote but the main boss sits there their with the typical beat hand into fist pose.
I have text that comes of the encounter with the zzzz and purr purr...but since the architect is again bugged...it looks silly....i guess the boss must sleep standing up.....and instead of sleep walking....does a sleep beat hand into fist thing.
I dont think you mentioned this.....but there is a problem with ambushes in general...
If you create a custom group of one character and set the ambush up....multiple copies of that character will show up...not just one.....
This is no big problem with low level guys for the ambush....
But i did this with a single elite boss....
Set to the lowest level...and 6 of them show up to attack a single player on the heroic mission difficulty.....
Yah another great bug...
And the ones i am talking about are the ones i ran into from my very own mission on the test center right now....
In fact as sad as this might seam i think all your bugs you mentioned i have going in my mission or i ran into while making it.
I am glad someone else has run into this stuff and is listing it....
I had another realy weird issue happen...but that was becasue the term Ultimate Power Amulet was reserved by the developers 2 days after i already used it for a mission...and as i was edditing it to try and correct the ambush thing....the term couldnt be used anymore.
You do get an error message telling you why....when this happens...you have to edit alot of things. -

I love how alot of these people on this thread are like people who can't seam to wait for water to boil or for a pop tart to heat in a microwave.
In fact the silly part is that Poptarts have actual microwave instructions on them(each package has them clearly written on them)....I assume those instructions where made for the impatient people like on these forums.
I mean sheesh...if we look back at the posts...we can see clearly that the most impatient people whined about no information from a previous patch...whined it wasnt there yet instantaneously...whined when it showed up.

Hey...um i dont know how many people have had this problem or are having this problem....
But for some reason the new sytem of buying stuff from the nc soft store doesnt seam to like my credit card...ever since i got a new one to replace my old one that expired....its like the system just doesnt recognize it and auto-declines it.
So in this case....i had to resort to paypal......thank goodness that was available.
Anywise i dont know if its because the cvm check is messed up or the expiration date is unaccepted...it has to be either one.....probably the cvm since i had that same problem with another online web site......anywise
I guess i am posting this to let people for the nc store know(that their credit verification system is in need of an update)...and also to let other players know that they are not alone.
If anyone still has problems...PAYPAL and i beleive VISA offer ways to get on line numbers for virtual credit card paying...the information is on their site.....so that is an option if you have any problems with paying for things online and such. -

If you weren't sleeping the Nictus (who have no protection against it) or damaging Romulus only then you really were useless. Of course if you are incapable of doing either of those then you've done something horribly wrong with your dom build.

Ok I conceed that point. Sleeps will probably gain popularity due to the Imperious TF.
But I stand by my opinion on Sleeps for the rest of the game.
There is just too much reliance on AoE damage to make sleep a really viable control.

hmm sleep...well for one the nictus at the end are archvillains if you are refering to the three at the end and they are immune to that.
If someone had done the task force they would know that...but go figure...i guess obvious things like that are kind of lost.
But i highly recomend actualy doing the task force before giving bad advice.
Also before someone posts confuse and fear are the keys...nope tried those too.
Also had telekineses going and domination going...which means i had the uber hold combo going....which did infact allow me to hold romulus for a few seconds every so often.
(if you dont have a dominator with mind and psi you would have no idea what i am refering to)
But with the nicti...nope didnt work....as in.....i thought if i could get at least get the one that summoned guys caught i could hold the ones that it summoned....alas didnt work out that way.
The summoned ones had the same archvillain immunitys.
Oh well bummer....
But again if you have done the tf or attempted it with a dominator of the same type i was playing .....then you would know all this...

You where like the guy who was with a team i did it with last...he sat back and didnt do much....basicaly the team carried him all the way through....i assume becasue he was another player's multi-account character.
But go figure...like i said....its small details like experience that sometimes need to happen before people should post what powers should be used....becasue not knowing makes you look like an idiot...and gets you a real huge idiot status when more people find out for themselves.
I did find one possible weakness or maybe a bug......didnt have time to try to exploit it though....
Has to do with when the team and i cleared all the guys on the map around romulus and his nicti......as he was and his nicti where the last ones left.
The possible exploit was this.....I stood at the longest range i had...and used psionic lance...and shot the nicti....this did some small damage...but the the nicti and romulus just sat there and did nothing....(no aggro)
My guess is that a group of mind control/psi blast dominators might be able to use that tactic to defeat him....but go figure....thats is just pure idle conjecture.
My team will definately testify that i liked using the word hmmm alot.....as i would type that everytime something unexpected happened.
Oh yes.....getting back onto the general topic....i did find a way to get the extra lag in the zone down in cimerora.....i noticed my grahipcs options had the options to keep my gui at a high resolution but that i could also lower my game resolution....i did this a little bit and it cleared up all the lag....but then again.....i was running the game at 1920 by 1200 before i lowered it...so go figure on that too. -

They're hardly unkillable. you just can't go rushing in, guns ablaze. Take out the Essences first, focusing on one at a time. Try to have a Tanker keep Romulus busy while this is done.

Specifically a Dominator with Mind Control and Psi-Blast.
I found i could use my confuse on most things and Fear....and if i tried i could sleep things with multiple applications sometimes just one...but straight out holds where out most of the time.
Only when we ran into Khledians was it easier...as my holds actualy worked...Dwarves as usual are a push over to hold...they are like a boss.....hate to say this...normal player kheldians are just as weak.(they never did fix that problem)
I had an even easier time when facing the 5th column as they could be held and confused with out multiple applications or constant no effects
But the last big boss...being a set of 4 archvillains....i could do nothing to help against
My domination was worthless.....and it didnt help matters that the archvillain essence that summoned smaller essences...also made them immune to holds and things...yes...i felt utterly worthless...as not one of my powers worked....i did get the actual roman archvillain guy to be held for 3 seconds.....with domination going and the Telekineses going but that was about it....the rest of the time i sat back with the continued domination sign over the heads of the enemies...showing that i was getting them....but they where not in the least bit effected.
I also felt disapointed that the void stalker gun(temp power) i had kept for a long time....did absolutely nothing to any of the archvillians except for a minute amount of damage.(lol takes two shots to kill a player from a NON-player character 4 levels lower...but when a player has it...they work like a water pistols)
But then again....the problem i had was based on the archtype i chose and the powers....against any archvillain my mind control is pretty much useless and the Psi-Blast is not great against things that resist psi-damage like the essenses.
My team didnt do so hot against the 4 archvillains.....this was probably to do with the fact i myself didnt have anything to contribute to help in the fight...maybe some random shots....but thats about it...i dont htnk soem of the other archtypes could do much either...like the tank we had for example died at the drop of hat...not really sure what powers he had since you cant look to see if you are villain and he is a hero.
I guess as is usual the team should have included a radition user...so that we could over come the regeneration rate of the villains and slow them and make them easier to hit with extra heals happening and accelerated metabolism increasing are attack rate and energy recovery rate and movement rate of the entire team.
Oh yes...one other thing......the explore badge in the middle of the cimerora(Depths of Time)....isnt that supposed to award the oroboros portal power and badge?

It operates exactly the same as Hold suppression. Initial Cage will take full effect. Any additional cages will not take effect until the "suppression" period ends.
EDIT:
FWIW, we reverted out the "Not affect players" change to TK, and changed Break Frees to 50% Repel Resist, and 100% resist for Medium and Large inspires.

so that means with the powers already on my scrapper and tank i will will be at i believe almost 90% repel resistant which means I no longer will be effected by those powers much at all.
Excellent...that means those squishes will again have no chance....great change....my primary targets become easier every pvp change.
I am hoping that will sort of carry over to pve as well...since certain archvillains and heros give me trouble with those powers as well.
