My Fire Brute is getting Darkest Night

Now... my SS/Elec... I may change it's Patron to GW and get Darkest Night too... why didn't Mu Mastery get a 5th power pick???

I know, I know, shame on me... but I was choosing the pistols for looks and because I saw no reason taking Share Pain.

Your second paragraph sums exactly why I thought it could work so well. World of Pain in all Pets plus Painbringer on the Bruiser plus good healing = pets with good dps and resistance. PBAoE heals for teirs 1 and 2, ST heals for Bruiser.

Yeah, I may get Oppressive Gloom with my /Dark, but it doesn't have synergy with /PD.

Well, both Power Boost and Oppressive Gloom sound bad for this build, but I'll get a resistance-based shield. And I'll have room for Gang War. Replacing Dual Wield with Share Pain

Yeah, it's a rather bland build, no offense taken. I already have a Thugs/Dark in the 40s.

I'm tempted to try a Sonic/PD Corr. But that's a post for anothe forum

right now I'm starting a new MM and I would like some advices. Right now this is what I'm picking:

-Thugs: Just the pets and upgrades. I love Gang War, but it's not so useful
-Pain Domination: Everything except Share Pain. The buff is kinda useless for a MM and I hope Soothe is enough.
-Travel Power: Probaly CJ+SJ+Acro for some minor mez protection
-Leadership: Assault+Tactics+Vengeance
-Fitness: of course

I was thinking about 2 PPPs that might be useful: Power Boost (Mace) and Oppressive Gloom (Soul)

Now, I don't know how PB may affect World of Pain, Anguishing Cry or Paybringer. Is it useful?

Oppressive Gloom sounds a good ideia since I'll stay near my tier 1 and 2 pets to heal them and mobs may come to us. I think it could be a nice damage mitigation. Besides, Dark Embrace is very useful.

Any thoughts?

I have a level 50 SS/Elec and love to PvP with him.

Yes, smashing damage is resisted by almost everyone, but the 80% bonus from Rage will help you. Rage also grants good acc bonus and, unlike BU, can be Perma.

After getting some HOs, Hasten and LR, I'm able to stack Holds from KO Blow. And, if I manage to drain my opponent's End, one KO Blow and he is held.

And Power Surge is awesome!!!

@_Fox_: Stalkers are not the only villain PvPers (my PvP villain is a Brute for example). But being able to see and hit Stalkers is useful. Besides, Tactics offers resistance against Fear and Confuse, something Ice Armor doensn't.

@Stalk-obot: I PvP mainly on RV. So getting Hibernate and EA after lvl 30 isnt a problem for me. Yes, The -10% Def will be a pain, but even if I cant manage to defeat my opponent while Rage is active (which is enough time) I still have Hibernate. Besides, with all those Acc SOs, I dont'e think my ~30% Def will help me a lot. Build Up will hit me through my armors.

@Filth: I agree with everything you said. Really. My armors wont help me much against AS, Icicles is an end hog and Stalkers have high AoE Def, specially SR.

@False-Fiction: Yeah, having 2 Holds will help me a lot. Having Def armors wont help me much but will allow me to dodge a few hits, which I believe will grant enough time for me to hit 2 Holds (KO Blow and Block of Ice). Although most of the time I'm on RV there are no Stalkers, I see a lot of Brutes and Corruptors. Well, at least on Defiant.

Thx for your suggestion. After doing my homework, I found out that with Tactics and Glacial Armor I'll be able to see Stakers with Hide+Stealth. But not thorugh Invisibility, but I'm not worried about that.

After playing Villains for about an year, I decided to level some Heroes. Right now I'm playing with an Ice/SS Tanker and I don't know which Epic I should choose for him as Heroes Epics are different (and better) than Patron Powers.

So far I have 2 options:

Energy Mastery: Conserve Power is good (although Energy Absorbtion helps a lot) and Focused Accuracy's +acc and +perception will be a good addition coupled with Rage and Glacial Armor. If I choose this Epic Pool, I will also take Tactics for even more +acc and +perception. I like to PvP (even though Ice is a defensive set), and maybe I'll be able to hit through Elude and see Stalkers.

Arctic Mastery: Ice Bolt has good damage, but the main reason for taking this Epic Pool is the Hold power. KO Blow + another Mag 3 Hold will allow me to Hold most my enemies after 2 successful hits.

Opinions?

Well, my VG, Night Stalkers, is pretty active. Everytime I log there are a bunch of people people online and from all lvl ranges, but mainly lvl 35+. That includes our coalitions.

BTW Murders Unlimited is part of the same coalition.

Actually, it is possibe to play a Staminaless toon with ELA even without DC, but you'll have some limitations (PvP, AVs,...).

Some primary sets require Stamina in order to be effective even with the Hasten + LR + Power Sink Combo, such as Super Strength. I dont know if you'll it need with DM as I don't have experience with this set on Brutes, but I had a lvl 30 DM Scrapper and Endurance wasn't a problem.

Actually, I have more problems finding a team in CoH than in CoV. Mainly because I know a lot of people on the villain side, but even when they are offline, it's quite easy to find a team of 3-4 players.

Now, when I started paying CoH, oh boy...

- "Hi! I'm a bubble Defender. Can I join?", "Sorry, we need a Scrapper"
- "Hi, I'm level 18, can I join?", "Sorry, you are one level below us"

I know the lines above are exceptions, but I never saw something like that on CoV. Heroes are very selective, and if you don't know other players, you'll have a hard time. Unless you create a Kin Defender lol Now I am asked to join teams.

Keep in mind I started paying Villains.

Aid Self is the best option!!!

Your opponent will miss eventually and you'l be able to activate it. Or just run. With 3 Intredxs it is way better than though, which hepls only against smahs/lethal.

I took Air Superiority and Fly. Great attack and a vertical travel power. Hasten and Super Speed will help you too.
