    plant/rad help

Hmmm... dunno why you got CJ+SJ when you already had Hasten (which has good synergy with Rad). Just pick Super Speed.

If you plan to team, Spirit Tree is much apreciated, try to get it earlier. And Assualt+Tactics instead of CJ+SJ will help other players too.

I don't know how to slot Plant, sorry. But I'll keep an eye on this thread to learn

    Sonic/?

I may search what the cap for -res is.

But Sonic/Sonic sounds best so far. Thanks!
  3. Thanks for the help guys.

EMP + Conserve Power seems good, specially when the last opens the way to get Power Boost. I'm about to switch my epics. Also because I realized that AM + Tactics will give enough mez protection.

EMP and Flash are balanced IMO. EMP gives you more toys to play with, but with a recovery debuff. What I don't understand is why people don't like Flash. Isn't it just like any AoE Hold?

Now, about Invisibility: Is it worth getting Superior Invisibility of I already have Group Invisibility? I know the first gives a bigger bonus to Stealth, but is it necessary? Is it useful? I may switch it to Mutation in order to be more team-friendly.

    Cheers
  4. 2 more question:

    1) is getting Flash + EM Pulse worth? With all the recharge I thought having an AoE hold every 40 seconds was too good to pass.
    2) Are the Pet Recharge Sets working as intended? Do the Auras work for Illusion Pets?
  5. Indeed! Fly with low end cost lol

    Sonic/?

I agree with you, usually I don't worry about mobs while building a Defender, but I like to debuff AVs and buff my team. A Sonic/Sonic won't allow me to kill waves of mobs but will help my teammates a lot, right?

I wonder how do you people get -300% res.
  7. I would take Unstoppable, my main is an /elec Brute and I picked the godmode. It will definetly help you against AVs, holding him while your team needs to get back again.

But JRaven is right. After you got the money/merits to get you close to 45% defense with just one enemy in melee, drop it.

The crash is manageble. You can either use temps or get away for 5 secs and use inspirations to get back.
  8. Promethean_EU

    Sonic/?

I suspect Sonic Siphon is necessary then.

I've tried /elec and it sure lacks damage output. /Sonic also lacks, but the synergy is too good. Thanks.

    Rech IO's

AFAIK, the recharge only enhances how often you can summon your pets. But I'm not sure, never used the set.

Free IOs on test. Now that would be great.

Hmmm... reading your post gave some ideias about a DM/SR. You are right about the attack chain, but I would still slot Siphon Life with Health. And MG fills your attack chain.

I didn't understand what you were trying to do with Shadow Maul, but now I get.
  11. I tried Gravity/FF before and it's a good mesh between an active primary and a lazy secondary. Between your buff cycle you'll have Lift, Crush and Propel.

I also tried Illusion/FF. It's very, very boring...

My suggestions: Gravity/FF and Illusion/Radiation or Kinetics for little PA downtime.
  12. Hello everyone

I'm planning my first Controller and I would like some opinions. The highlights of this build are perma AM, Hasten, PA and IW. I just hope the prices for Basilisk's Gaze lower a bit while I lvl

I know the Leadership Pool won't affect PA

I see you are trying to get as much defense as you can. I would start ditching some powers and getting others. In order to maximize your defense you took many powers such as Weave, Combat Jumping and Manuevers.

    - Manuevers isn't much effective in terms of endurance, specially for Brutes.

    - Inv meshs better with Tough and Weave more than any other secondary. But again, the efficiency is low compared to other protection powers. If you choose to keep it, slot Boxing as you have only 2 ST melee powers.

    - Don't get Combat Jumping. You may choose a better power in its place.

    - Get Unstoppable. It will save you against tough enemies such as AVs

    - Slot Siphon Life with Heals. Smite, Shadow Punch and even Boxing should be your ST melee. You also have Gloom.

    - Health should have 2 more slots.

    - No Travel Power... are you sure?

    - Shadow Maul at 44 won't help you much. Have you considered Touch of Fear? Great to-hit debuff and few mobs resist Fear.

    These are my opinions
  14. Promethean_EU

    Sonic/?

    Thanks for your opinions everyone.

It seems /Sonic is the best option. If I choose it, what about Sonic Siphon? Is it necessary? What is the -res cap?

    Sonic/?

    Hello everyone.

I'm planning to level a Sonic/ Defender (I've never played one and I'm looking for a support alt) and I would like to know what is the best secondary, besides /Sonic.

    Any suggestions?

I was planning for a /elec one because I like the Short Circuit + Power Sink Combo. And I'll be able to pick 2 Holds too. Is it worth? Or am I after a controller?

    Cheers
  16. Promethean_EU

    Valkyrie Nerf

/FF doesn't offer much against EB/AVs and Crabs are supposed to be AoE oriented.
  17. OK... Now I'm confused lol

So apparently, it doesn't help the set at all
  18. Promethean_EU

    Fury

My first 50 was a Fire/Fire Brute. Start with STs, use Healing Flames if needed and you are ready for AoE. This way you'll do more damage with the same amount od Endurance.

Besides, keep you damage Aura on.
  19. Trust me, I tried the same thing once I hit lvl 46... I decided to wait for 3 more lvls. But good luck
  20. Mainly lvling up my Crab and starting a Hero
  21. I have a SS Brute and tried just one accuracy SO coupled with Rage. Believe, you'll miss a lot against purples, specially when debuffed.
  22. Does SR gives enough defense to survive an AV? I've only played resistance based Brutes so far.
  23. I agree that Rage + Foot Stomp is overpowered, but SS lacks an aura.
  24. It affects the toHit bonus from World of Pain. Only.
  25. Fire/WP is awesome for AoE Damage. For PvP it's not the best. Rage from SS will give you a great damage buff.
