Fury
i would prob do option C.
Fury builds the same from a single target power or an aoe. Fury is built on two possibilities. 1: you attack. 2: you get attacked.
Neither of the attacks have to hit for fury to build, the quicker the attacks, the quicker fury builds. Slow hard hitting attacks does not build more fury than a ast low dmg attack. (put brawl or other equivalent power on auto, my energy brute has the two punch quickie on auto, dual blades have nothing on auto, elec/shield doesn't have an attack on auto sadly).
As a brute, i tend to invest in my defenses early, if i can keep going longer, i can maintain high fury for a longer time. Not having to stop between battles does wonders for fury.
Bloody invalid form errors, whats that about?
Back on topic: Ah thanks for that, I figured hitting 10 targets would get you more fury than just hitting one.
Though by the time I have got my brute high enough to have an AoE I should have the hang of fury I hope.

I've generally found the main issue in the early levels is having enough endurance to keep going in order to generate decent levels of fury.
Certainly pre-Stamina your slotting priority will be accuracy and endurance reduction. There's little more depressing sight for a brute than watching his fury dissipate as he tries to recover some of that empty blue bar.
Post-Stamina is where brutes are suddenly able to let rip and become the SMASH machines they want to be.
Pre-stamina feel free to ignore damage slotting. Enhancement bonuses are low before SOs anyway, and Fury makes up for the damage. Focus on Acc and EndRed.
I tend to open with my AoEs on my own Brute, but mostly because they have knockdown in them for nerfing the alpha. And, well, I usually don't let my fury drop below 60ish once I get going, unless the rest of the team is -really- slow.
My first 50 was a Fire/Fire Brute. Start with STs, use Healing Flames if needed and you are ready for AoE. This way you'll do more damage with the same amount od Endurance.
Besides, keep you damage Aura on.
Hey PD
With Phosphor I tended to open with FSC follow up with Burn then mop up anything left with the single targets.
Use Aim and the BU power as they recharge before the aoes or Greater Fire Sword.
I've got taunts in the damage aura and one of the aoes in order to keep aggro and hence incoming attacks. However I was far too late in picking up Tough - you really need it - that and even more so some form of KB protection.
With this strategy you need aggro to build fury and its very easy to be overwhelmed on fire/fire. I always had difficulty keeping fury high whilst surviving the aggro.
The aoes will indirectly generate more fury as they will grab more aggro but directly all primary/secondary attacks build the same amount. I suspect a more ST build will build fury better.

I have played pretty much every AT hero side and am only now starting to get into villain side and as part of my villainous training I am going to roll a fire/fire brute, but having never got one past level 10 before I thought I would ask about Fury.
Should I:
A - Be running in chaining quick activating ST attacks to build fury before unleashing the AoE's like FSC, Fire Breath and Burn
B - Open with FSC, patron immob, Burn and Fire Breath then follow up with the quick ST attacks.
C - Use group 1 to build fury with the ST attacks then unleash AoE hell on group 2, rinse/ repeat
D - Something else
That question comes because all the guides I have read talk about getting quick attacks out repeatedly, but do AoE's not generate more fury than ST attacks (Assuming no gaps in the chain)?
