I do understand the need for manners and for someone to feel grateful to the gift of SB you are giving them, I feel the same way sometimes, however, the SB power has a pretty quick recharge and helps the team greatly. If you have it and don't use it, you aren't playing as a teammate should. It is just like being a healer but letting someone die because they didn't ask to be healed. My kin that I have, I just ask if everyone is ok with SB, for those that say no, I don't hit them up.
I understand making a kin is not great in the early levels and making one is for the benefit of the team so with any type of support role such as a healer, kin, or even a debuffer, the team should have manners and show their appreciation for that buffer/debuffer.
As far as the team asking for the buff when it runs out, if someone notices a buff is running out, such as SB or Bubbles, then they should alert the buffer but also with a thank you or please at least. Not everyone can understand manners through typing so use those keywords will help everyone.
This is all In My Opinion and how I choose to play with others, not everyone feels the same way I do. -
Actually the most annoying person I have met online was a guy who had only a three month vet badge and was berating another player for heals that was not necessary in a mission. The healer was RPing as a medic and the other person told her that she is not a "healer" but a support class who also happened to be able to heal and the purpose of having healing powers was only for emergency use only. Personal feelings toward spam heals aside, people should not tell others how to play the game, especially Role-Play, as long as it does not hurt other players.

Hey guys! I just got the memo about Fire/Rad Mondays! I'm going to try to hit it up next Monday for sure, toon name is Erif Noitaidar. Also, send me a global request @Lightening Rod so I make sure to meet up with everyone. Also, where does the group meet up at?
edit: Found you guys online, I will meet you all next week hopefully if real life lets me! -
Be safe over there! As far as keeping the account active, thats what I did too! Its fun to see all the vet rewards pop up when you get back!

IMO, my favorite and main toon is my Energy/Energy Blaster. The only downside to him is alot of Knockback when on teams. Knockback solo is good, however. To the melee question, instead of sniping first, I run in using Buildup and Aim then hit my Total Focus and I've slotted him to kill LT's that are same level as me with one hit. If they are higher, they are stunned. After that, I us a variety of melee and ranged attacks, depending on what is recharged. Melee with a blaster of that type is tough up until you get Total Focus, however when I reach Epic Power Pools, I go for Force Mastery for the Personal Force Field so that when I find myself low, I hit that and can not be hit. Also with Temp Invulnerability on and Force of Nature, I can hold my own in melee range for a while. I will say that I am more of a solo player and don't mind taking my time with my toons instead of powerleveling.

I once had a toon named "Gone Fishin'". He was a redneck who wore camo pants, cutoff flannel shirt, and a trucker hat with aviator sunglasses. He was lazy in the hero department and only got up to level 7 but once caught a fish in the little pools around the Atlas Statue, even though I think he stocked it once when no one was looking.

Quote:I like to think of my mutants in a tuxedo t-shirt saying, "I am here to be formal and I am here to party!"It is kind of a broad idea. redheads and people who taste the extra flavor in broccoli are mutants, and in comics pretty much anything can be a mutant, from the normal looking jean gray to the less than normal looking nightcrawler. In this case it really seems to be coming down to giving stuff to characters who have a more monsterous theme, something that players like myself have been asking for for a while. If it has fish fins and fox tails, i will be really happy. but really the packs are all about single takes on broad themes, not all natural heroes are practitioners of asian martial arts, but the natural pack focused on that(to my distinct pleasure), so really it is as much an attempt to make a focused fix of a thematic hole as anything. and we need some new monster parts.

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I hear about players who play for fun and content. Go you, you are not a noob!
PS. - Players who have 60 something months vet rewards don't know it all, I am a prime example. I have Fog of War, but I forgot yesterday how to get to Faultline. *Shrugs -
Quote:How do you access the forum and post from your phone? Do you use the phone's web broswer? I have an iPhone, I will play with it and try new stuff out.I can access the forums and post from my phone. I'm all for expanded game/community access, but what are you suggesting, OP?
It's like saying, "This game needs something new!" Okay, yes. But what?
Also, some of my suggestions for the application would make it more of a companion instead of a new addition to the game itself. News updates, server status, patch updates and issues, as well as easy access to the forums. I have a few apps like facebook (shudders), fml, and texting while intoxicated that are daily checks. Also to be able to log onto my account to check out my toons and see their power sets to show off to other people. Champions Online, while I don't like the gameplay, has a very good app that lets players view their toons. Costume Creator on the phone would be neat, but would also prolong this. I would like other deals too that parawiki offers like maps, guides and whatnot. But those are just a few ideas I have. -
Maybe I am the first person to suggest this, maybe not. I haven't heard anything at all. WoW has an app, Champions Online has an app, so.... when does City of Heroes get an app? Don't get me wrong, I love all the improvements CoX has made to the game, but I would like an app for my "mobile device" so that I can, well for lack of better words, just have one. I wish that I had the resources to create one to send to the CoX team but for now I guess all we can do is a poll. How many would like an app for our game, how many would not like an app, and how many are indifferent? Thanks, Primordia Vox.
