I recently had an issue with paypal payment too, i paid for my account the day it was meant to run out, a few hours beforehand because i was on ITF and i didnt want to be cut off midway.
So upon paying for paypal i continue playing and after ITF i log off. I came back at around 5pm and it said my account was unpaid.
I emailed support instantly, and i got a generic cut and paste back saying 'Your issue is being upgraded to a senior advisor", after this i waited three days and no reply.
After talking to one of my friends, aka Mother's Love she said i should try emailing GhostRaptor personally so i did, and within a day the account was back up and working with a few days added playtime.
Now point being, how come one person can make an entire team do what they should have done in 1/3 the time? I had already posted all the payment details, direct copy of emails and even the payment information direct from paypal yet it still took an email to ghostraptor to get the job sorted.
Also im not the only person this has happemed to, another friend of mine has two accounts that run out on the same date, he paid for both of them via paypal in exact same way that i did and none of them stayed active, he waited a week and no reply so he tried to pay for his account again whilst he waited, and that payment didnt activate it either, two weeks after his original email, he received a response saying he was getting his money back for the two original payments plus a few £'s for the trouble, but they didnt refund him for his 3rd attempt at payment and didnt activate his account.
Now hes worried if he pays again the account will take the cash and not activate again since technically all they did was a refund and not solve the actual issue. -

in the off chance that a dev looks through the uk forums, they could spot which ideas seem most popular and use some of the ideas in there own implementation.
thats a bit like saying why post on the forums in the first place because nothing we say gets done. -

Thing is despite what the devs said about power customisation been hard, theres been mods going on for at least a year to change colours of powers etc.
If a mod can do it surely the creators of the game can manage the same thing?
Im not sure if there legal so i havent tried them but theres pictures up of coloured energy blasts for example that arent in game, plus theres already some slight changes in game anyway, for instance red electricity on villains and blue on heroes.
It can be done, the reason im thinking the devs said it was hard to do was because they were thinking of actual power fx changes not just colour, which would mean changing the entire animation, in which case i understand.
Even if its just colours though implemented it would still be a nice change. -
Also in reply to statesman_4_prez's post, i dont think it will be as simple as using current npc animations due to scaling.
BAB's does a great job coming up with the animations anyway usually.
Looking at mine again, i think mine would be a little overpowered but a second -resist would be good because not many people like the sonic sets much.
Also i think its very unlikely the pistol assualt set idea would come into play, im thinking its more likely just going to be corrupter, blaster and defender. -

To add to my idea, they could make a small fortune if they do the set in a addon pack with guns holster costume piece and maybe with cowboy chaps. -

Im not a massive expert on pet binds but something i discovered today.
I was trying to make a military salute bind for my soldiers using:
/bind q, petsay_all <em salute>
but everytime i pressed q, the soldiers all say "<em salute", so thinking it was a mistype of mine i pressed up on chat and got the bind back and removed the "bind q" part and just used /petsay_all <em salute> and it worked fine.
Is it just me or can someone test this just to make sure i arent doing anything wrong, and if not, is there a way around it rather than manually typing it everytime? -
As to tweaks with my build, I have every power in the shield defence set, slotted with resist and defence IOs, and combat jumping and i have capped defence when stood near one person.
Build wise I dont have any issues with anything other than mobs with debuffs so i dont see how thats relevant.
Speaking to a fellow shielder in the SG on level 48 he says hes still having issues too with defence debuffs. -
I understand it scales with level, but vs heroic rated mobs on level 42 it has the same effect, i did try this myself thinking that was the issue.
First mob of pretorians with friend sked, so there were 5, white and yellow mobs, within a few seconds i was at -30% defence, not suffering as much damage because of one with the shield but you cant expect someone with all there powers to have to wait right till 50 just to tank anything especially when its there job in a team.
Thats like buying a load of guns but not having any ammo, in a team currently my tank feels very much like an ornament and cant be a main tank for anything at her level or above.
If this is the case and it drastically improves in the 8 levels i have left can anyone confirm this who has a shield tanker themselves?
I really do like the shield set, up until i come against something that debuffs and maims me and leaves me on someones porch. -
Anyone know if Ice tankers are having the same problem then?
I know my SR charecter doesnt have any problems, i understand that the new system theres no such thing as protection from debuff but resistence is working very much like all or nothing currently and with no options to increase it, its very much like running in against an army butt naked.
I havent tried it in all honesty, my shielder is currently at level 42 and as it stands I dont think she will be getting much higher, I love the charecter but it just feels broken beyond belief to play.
One minute your doing fine, next minute your eating gravel because you have so much -defence you might as well stick a bulleye on you. -
This is just a post to see what everyone is thinking the real issue with shields being underpowered is.
My own personal view is that for a tanker set, it plays useless when faced with any form of defence debuff and the *ahem* 'protection' to defence debuffs we have is none existant.
Malaise alone can hit you -300% in one go, and tanking pretorians just doesnt happen, each hit at -10% and the speed they fire means your under -100% defence before you get back to your herding spot.
For a defence based charecter to not have any resist at all to a debuff that so many types carry is just wrong. If the debuffs werent so bad for stacking then it wouldnt be so bad.
Resistance based charecters never have -300% resist in one go from any mob as far as i know. Even sonic doesnt have that magnitude debuff so why do defence get shafted when they already have a massive weakness of being able to be hit with any form of +accuracy?
My suggestion for a solution is:
Add +defence debuff protection IO's, make it so shields can slot for defence debuff or give them some more protection to it, because as it stands, its much weaker than my scrappers when it comes to tanking. -
Is there one of these in existence? If not why not?
The current shield defence is stupidly low resistance to any form of debuff, malaise alone can get you to -300% in seconds on a tank with 3 purples popped.
There should at least be an IO to improve what the devs failed to notice on test. -
also the chest detail for valkyrie looks a lot like vanguard chest detail but without the design on it. At least it does on female model.

well, an NPC armor pack would be cool for instance, sky raiders and rikti armor etc and yes CoT robes like that was mentioned before.
If its not some lame attempt to copy WoW its fine as far as im concerned. Although I admit, the new armor does look nice its just too similar to paladin armor.
For instance, New paladin armor set for WoW. Other than the helmet and shoulders it doesnt look that much different.
I just hate to see so many games nowadays look at WoW and decide thats what everyone wants so attempt to copy it. If its the same what would make us choose this over WoW seen as it already has more players anyway?
Few more costume sets Id prefer would be something like this. whilst i do realise its skiing gear, it looks more like special ops gear :P
Also the dress type things that Sybils wear in ITF, backpacks (which goes for jetpack style like skyraiders or just regular backpacks like kids wear to school), rock type costume sets (judging from success of guitar hero this should be popular) an extra hairstyles or details pack.
Lastly but not least this. Just because you know you want to see it. -

hey guys can anyone confirm if Phalanx fighting on the shield tanker set is currently bugged?
I have the power, and i slotted it with two defence IO's but my overall defence didnt change via stat monitor, after checking the enhancement screen, theres no information on the buffed value, it just says defence and then its blank under value.
Pretty big bug if it is broken :/ Dont you just love i13? :P -

Typical, I just about get the cash to IO my charecter and wentworths goes down lol.
I hope theres a decent patch along with this that fixes some of the bugs. Since I13 CoH has been more trouble to play than its worth.
If theres no decent updates by saturday i wont be renewing my account, each issue is breaking more than it adds/fixes, its not right. -
Sigh after they release weapon customisation, shields and all the other weapon loving, now they release 'Paladin' armor and rename it Valkyrie.
I mean, scale mail come on. whats next? chain mail and sg tabards? Maybe wizard robes? oh wait... theres the magic pack coming too....
Since the game changed hands it seems the devs have been doing everything possible to follow in WoW and Warhammers footsteps, weapons, shields, magic pack, this and pvp revamp.
Im really tired of it when can we have some stuff like sheaths and holsters that we been asking for, for god knows how long? What about some good old sets like we used to have before weapon customisation was out? how about some mutant parts? more hairstyles?
At least the cyborg pack was different, now we got two upcoming WoW armor clones :/
Theres plenty of hero and villain type things that could be done. Theres no need to go making cheap knockoffs of other games armor this is the reason why ive left other games before. -

look at the past few issues since the games change of hands, its all involved weapons , now a superhero doesnt always use weapons yet this is all we have seen except for the exception of willpower.
Plus as has been mentioned, 75% of the available options are fantasy ones. So most of the time, yes weapons do = fantasy in CoH but isnt the entire game fantasy anyway? :P its not everyday you see a man in lycra flying around before heading into a mob of gun wielding thugs.
Sigh real life is boring :P -
I think the main reason CoH numbers are falling is because numbers are low in all honesty.
More people are leaving as they find there friends leaving and find it hard to level new charecters without farming.
Merit system is helping a fair bit as far as ive seen because theres not as many people farming influence and more people farming TFs, which I think is a step in the right direction since TFs are just about the only sets of missions with any real diversity in them.
After you have hit level 30, you have most likely battled every villain group there is on most of the maps.
Mission creator should help with this, but its not going to attract a load of people i think because people would also prefer a reward for there missions thats actually worth something, i.e ITF costume pieces.
To get more players in first they will need to stabilise the player base and get a few vets back, that alone should attract a few more players back, mainly end game content.
Currently theres nothing except IOs and not everyone wants them.
If you cant keep your current playerbase happy, you arent going to attract new players simple as. -
