If you do marketing, I highly recommend TheMarket channel. We don't do TFs or anything - we actually don't share market secrets, our niches, with each other either, unless it's some way freaky market anomaly [buying Regen Flesh for 600 and selling it in an hour for 60,000] - But they're good folks for just chatting or getting marketing advice.
For TFs, I go with the a Fire/Rad team Mondays and do TFs with a Hoard group on Thursdays. Other than that, I pug. Mostly in Talos, though I get made fun of for it. But, hey, I like Talos. I run in teams there in the teens, lead them in the 20s, and still run there into the 40s sometimes. Though some toons need the Vanguard clothes...
Wow, off topic.
But, welcome back. -
Team 2 finished. I didn't have screenshotui to 1, but we were like 1:45 with 40 deaths. And, really, I would have dug my temp powers all that time.
Someone dced and couldn't get back. One other DC.
I got mapserved right after we finished. -
[totally re-edited]
All three of my main toons have Sis Psyche so I'd prefer to bring Betty Forever, 40 AR/Dev, if we want a blaster. Or, my other option, and possibly a more powerful option, would be my 43 ill/storm controller, Candyjet.
[Edit - It aint gonna be Candyjet, she's still trashed after a respec.]
I'd love to be able to lev my new katana to 20 by Thursday, but I don't see that happening.
And thanks for hosting these, I never say that, but thanks. -
I'm skipping this upcoming Monday to do the Faathim TF with my 50 scrapper. It's one of the few she lacks.
-
Trixi Chalk [katana/wp] needs this TF, so I'll show.
Giving the time info is great. I never know how long a TF I've never run tends to take unless I can find a thread where someone took a screenshot after their team finished.
I hope there's a guide that someone has for all that running about. Especially in the Shard.
[gotta check my Raptor pack's time]

I was rather unimpressed with the 2.5mph speed boost. I forgot the other I got last night, but it wasn't too hot either. And I got the speed boost three times out of four.

Quote:Who is this?
At first I thought I had missed out on some amazing outfit until you mentioned NPC pet. Which, it would be cool to have actual person sized vet pets. -
I'd like to get in on this as an alt or on a second team. I'd bring Trixi Chalk, 50 Katana/WP. It's hard to kill her, though she does have a psi hole pretty bad [both range and psi are low 20s], but I should be able to not screw the zero deaths.
The scrap is my only toon in the level reqs on Freedom, so I'm not too flexible on what I'd bring.
Edited to Add: I can't stealth/ghost, though I do have rec friend. -
I feel for ya. But ours, Mediacom, just likes to shut things down for a few hours during working hours. We have phone with them also. But in CoH hours, everything's usually good.
I was on Rox's team. Rox grouped 'em tight and Quark locked them down hard. We're all running 900 mph since Kin is spamming us with SB and I'm able to see clouds of orange numbers flying w/o having half the earth try to eat me. And Pando is brilliant when I hit the "Help! Too Much Aggro!!!" button. Saved me several times. Void was doing all the good Rad stuff and helped us eat Babbage pretty quick, but I just wasn't feeling the DPS since I was single targeting. Also, he's so damn tall you can't see the orange numbers. Dicki rocked too, looking more and more like Steve Colbert when he did Crippling Axe Kick.
Very fun night, even if I was dizzy and unable to use stereo sound to find stuff because of a clogged and temporarily deaf ear from an ear infection.
I'm bringing up a katana/dark that I might swap in after a few more TFs. And any that Trixi Chalk, kat/wp 50, missed I'll put her in. Playing Trixi hurts my fingers though. She has a little recharge on her. -
I don't know Sonic, but with the Ice, that's what I take, minus the sword if you have Sands of Mu.
-
You can auto the entire extra-costume arc or just the individual hunts?

Re: What is and is not a booster
If I can buy it for $10 in the shop, it's a booster for me, as I only had the bootleg edition and upgraded it ages ago. When I reinstall, I just download the client from NC. -
Quote:Note: I didn't read all that follows, so I figure this is redundant, but also validation of what others say.
- How do raids work? Are PUGs formed similar to how they are in WoW? (sorry, lots of my questions will be me trying to figure out the game by using one I already know)
- Is there a guild mechanic of any kind?
- I have noticed Galaxy City is pretty much empty. Are places like Galaxy City just hubs for instances? Is there an instance database similar to Atlas for WoW where I can find maps and bosses?
- How many people still play the game? It looks like a lot but are there any specific figures?
- What kind of loot can you get? In WoW you can get items ranging from grey to orange, but there isn't armor or weapons in COH.
1. There are only two true raids in this game. Hamidon and Ritki Mothership. Get on one of the umpteen teams and you'll see what it's like. Pugs in CoH vs WoW, not sure how they work in WoW. Here you just either search for those on teams and ask, shout your availability, or wait for someone to shout an opening on a team. Everything is instanced here, so you can't seen 90% of people. You can add friends and check to see if they're on a good team, but I've rarely had this work. But I'm on Freedom which is so large that no one ever remembers anyone else.
2. Supergroups. Some are inactive and some do stuff. Mine has only one event that I know of, a Monday Fire/Rad controller thing. I've always hopped into one so I can get access to the Telepads. Movement in CoH is much different than WoW, but that's another topic. I've watched WoW 30 minute long parades on Youtube and it makes me sad.
3. Galaxy City should be nuked so bad it looks like Boomtown. Nobody goes to Galaxy. But, even if you chose it, you can still spend your low levels in Atlas. I try to get out and into KR and SC asap. But, as I mentioned, I'm on Freedom and our Atlas Park is notorious for being full of idiots.
4. Like 80k or something. Dunno.
5. Drops are enhancements to your powers or recipes or salvage for those recipes. If you die, you keep them all. The only way to get rid of them is sell them or delete them. I guess you could hand/mail stuff to someone too.
Edited to add - Some drops are for temporary powers. Some of these powers are amazing. The new dagger is one of them and it alone can help a team take down a Giant Monster much faster. Though, best dudes for helping with a GM is a /rad controller IMO. And all these drops can just be bought at Wentworths. And Wentworths can also allow you to make tons of money so you can buy some great enhancements.
Enjoy CoH. It's less rigid in classes than WoW. As mentioned before, a full team of 8 fire/rad controllers is actually much more effective than most traditionally mad teams. And I'd love to see a full team of Night Widows. -
Quote:Exactly my deal last night. Clockwork were putting me in the purple electric sleep cage and my defiance didn't work. It fired ONCE last night, just flares, while I was mashing the button....in certain situations, i cant use my first 2 primary attacks when held, stunned, or slept...
Though there was the update yesterday, and not that this might have anything to do with anything, but my toon was not wearing any of the new costume pieces but was using the 2nd Mutation buff.
[Flares recharges in 0.9 on my toon. The fire blast in 2 or so.] -
Get ice for concept reasons.
Ice is one I like, but mainly because I don't dig all the powers and it leaves me free to pick up more pools. Shiver rocks. -
Another vote for katana/wp.
An off-topic vote for at least using frankenslotting when the IO is cheaper and better than the generic, or very costly in the long run, SO. -
Quote:A question mark in the title would have kept my hopes fro getting up.Can anyone set me up with a DP Guide. I've done some searching and can't find one.
Thanks!
I can't find one either. There are tons of posts though. You'll start seeing a pattern among the good and bad advice.
It's a pretty simple set, with the ammo as the only freaky twist. -
You just color the stripes on the Bioluminescent body. They glow already.
-
I either wait to 34ish or do the bricks rooftops near the Crey's gate. It's easier to run away if they're on a roof as they like to take the fire escapes and I'll just jump off if things get heated. Lots of nice fences in the are for sneaking up on those backyard spawns.
Or, just wait a few levels. -
Even as a non-hardcore gamer [or maybe I am] I would never use a wireless while gaming. If you've never been on a team where someone declares their mouse is dead and goes afk for four minutes, count yourself lucky.
All the best gaming stuff is wired. I recommend the G11 keyboard if you're wanting some serious programability, though I have never done crap with the 18 extra keys. And with three shifts, that's 54 extra "G-keys."
I don't recommend wireless. Others may disagree.
I think you're biggest problem will be chording. As for inflexibility with different keyboards, I once used Microsoft Natural at work and home [on two different computers there]. Both Naturals on my own computers had different key layouts at that time. I found I needed to have at least one that was traditional due to my inability to use them after a while. Being adaptable is good. -
Which one gave me Pocket-D teleport?
That convenience power, Sinister Boots, Ninja Run combined with the three pronged Jump Pack, and Door TP are what makes the packs for me.
Martial Arts also has that good V shaped robe. Whether the Mutant Crown stands the test of time for me has yet to be seen.
Pocket-D is where I level and do my costumes. Short of using Oro to get to Talos [for WW, SG, a train, and very handy Day Job stuff near each other], it's my most useful instant travel power.
I have yet to get the SG transporter on any of my main toons. Just those I park around. -
Quote:I want a Fire Blast/Willpower Mastermind. No, mister macskull. This thread is still about giving Scrappers Super Strength.
I disagree, however. That is far too conservative. Give us War Mace, Battle Axe, Ice Melee, Ice Armor, Stone Melee, Stone Armor, Energy melee, Energy Aura, Ninjitsu, and whatever else we may be missing. -
MA hits harder than Katana, but the mitigation from DA is amazing at lower levels or if you're not doing a def cap. Shield is shield. That amazing AoE is the only reason I'd take it. Both have a mix of ST and AoE that's about even. But with MA, Shield's late blooming will have everything below the mid-30s, or more because of slots, a little more inconvenient.
I like Katana better due to the speed and DA. I also have a 50 MA/Inv who rocks. Neither is bad. If I were to solo with a shield and my focus was on my career after 50, I'd do MA. If I were more interested in the growth of the toon, Katana.
Tanks are tanks. You can go cook dinner while they stand with the aggro cap wails on them and they'll be OK, and that's about as quick as you can kill those mobs too.
That said, you're tank ideas are also good as scrappers. I have no experience with dark or Fire beyond what you can read yourself in the guides [which are sometimes woefully out of date, so watch if it doesn't have ED]. Though I know that fire does rock.
Edit - I didn't say anything about /electric. Good stuff, take all but the 38. -
-
Quote:You got it. While my fire/ice is hellish damage on teams, her mitigation is in the form of teams. Shiver is a control power. Hardly a damage mitigation after you have the aggro cap running after you due to Rain and Fireball, and breath, and just hurting them so bad.I dunno, it just seems like people overestimate the usefulness and mitigation properties of /ice, or they are remembering fire/ice from a different time.
Ice is for Build Up, Shiver, and...wait, that's it. Fire's for burninating the earth.
