The only Alpha I can see taking for nearly any AT is Spiritual. Though if you have end problems, or want to get out of PP in an epic, then Cardiac.

Besides that, the Muscular and Nerve...I guess they'd work best if you liked frankenslotting.

    ambush farm?

Best shard farm I know is ITF. I'm sure there are better, but I know ITF pretty well and only hate the part on the dais/round raised place.
  3. I really liked the TF, but the door confusion was pretty epic. From the sewers before the last section, it's possible to exit into the normal, real Skyway. The other, correct exit takes you to the messed up one. And from the hospital, you have to go into a sewer entrance that looks just like the one you came out of to get there to get out of the big chamber. At one point I flew through the cracks, but couldn't figure out how to. I know Turg was able to TP through them.

I always like stuff like the "Defend Talos" stuff.

The boats were confusing, and the clicky portions weren't hard at all. Turg's confuse made the big warehouse a joke, and a pretty funny one at that. With the level of invisibility that the team had, we sailed through that entire portion.

One other odd thing, every time the on-screen caption from Sutter came through, it was under my map.

Had a good time, not sure I dig it too much as I had a bad pug earlier in the day and we didn't get past the ships.

Anyone know anything about the villain trial? I made Salty a vigilante just for the strike forces, etc.
  4. I'm gonna redact my offer to lead, but still show up with Saltier. I messed up my health today with stupidity.

    [long story follows]

So, I only got 4:20 of sleep last night so I had two of those StoK things in my milk this morning, falling asleep at work I drank a liter of Mt Dew, and I'm still suffering, so I take a Provigil (not to be taken with caffeine.) I couldn't stop gritting my teeth, I felt like I was going to throw up, pee myself, and couldn't breath. So, I leave work.

After I crashed for a few hours, then popped up like an insane person, I got online and Master-Blade actually got to witness some of my random intensity.

Not that I'm still as enthusiastic/irritable as before, but I'd rather be in absolutely no role of responsibility/authority for the next 12+ hours.

I'm really pleased my work let me go home rather than sending me for a drug test. Hell, it's 4/20 after all. Though I prefer to sabotage my body with prescription drugs. Hell, at least it wasn't a laxative or something.
  5. I have a G11, but mostly I gave up on programming the G keys. At one point I had the binds to combine inspirations or gulp one on the top six, but sometimes the profile would misload and I eventually just moved on, though I've been meaning to start using it, thus my interest in the thread, and also get my Belkin Nostromo out.

[note: the Nostromo will not work if you load the drivers, in case you have one. Also, I have an N50, I believe the N51 hates Vista/7 and is a paperweight with a USB cable.]

I rolled a warshade recently and I'm thinking that the extra keys might really help. Though, an aside about the warshade, I really suck at WS.

What I did do was assign macros to obscure key combinations, like Alt+q/w/e/r/t/y/u/i/o and have G1+ activate those. I did the top three as "combine insp to xxx" and the one directly under it to "gulp xxx."

    But that's all I've done.

    *The G11 is a G13 w/o the little screen.
  6. If you don't mind some wonky data and your pet damage not being listed, I reccomend Herostats. It's really opened my eyes as to what my good powers are, and which ones are so sad that I should remove them from my trays [I'm talking about you, Flares.]

But, Herostats is not perfect. On my Fire/Rad controller, my imps are my main damage dealer, and they can't be tracked. Nor can Rain of Fire on my fire/ blaster, and in many situations that's a major damage dealer after aim and buildup.

    So, welcome.

I'll show up with Saltier instead. She needs the WST anyhow, so she can lead if no one else steps up. I've not run it before, but that really doesn't matter.
  9. I like /ice as a secondary since Shiver rocks and I skip most of it, leaving me room to pick up the concealment pool for LotG7.5 mules.

Fire/ is great. I can't say enough about it. But, if you've played that long, you know what a fire blaster in the right hands can do.

I discourage DP, Energy, and Ice. If you do choose to do DP, make sure you only use the fire ammo. Energy knocks people away, which you might like if you solo. You've tried ice, so have I, and that toon is parked at around level 30. I'll eventually delete her.

For secondaries, I discourage Dev and Energy. I know, Energy gives your build up soonest and has boost range, but who cares. It's full of melee I won't use and the non-melee aren't worth it. If I'm in melee range, it means I've got no end after a nuke and I'll buzzsaw for a while popping blues. Dev...do I really have to point out why?

But, that said, play what you want. I personally think Fire/Ice is the best for fun. I found archery to be too non-hero like and couldn't be bothered to wait for the 32.

The only thing I dig about AR, and it's why I have one at 43 [stalled], is Full Auto. Not the best nuke, but my favorite.

As for Fire, if you run Herostats you'll see something you don't expect. Blaze eclipses all your other powers except Inferno. And, heck, I can only hit inferno a few times in an hour and it'll overshadow my spamming blaze the whole time. You need to get your rech up so you can buzzsaw blaze and blast, ball if you need to. And it's really easy to permahasten if you do the stealth-mule thing and get Spiritual alpha.

Aside: My mains have always been scrappers, but then I did this blaster and love it. My current project is an ice/dark tank which might take pyre unless it looks like I need PP. But, eh, if I needed PP I'd go Cardiac...maybe.

    Tray Management

My setup varies from AT to AT but generally goes something like this:

Tray1: Attacks with Build Ups to the right, click mitigation past that if there's room.
Tray2: Run, Fly, etc. Controlled by mapping to the Numpad. Constants: 1 sprint, 2 Ninja, 3 CJ [or blank], 4 Fly or Raptor pack, 5 Hover or blank, 6 stealth in a sprint or stealth power. 7, 8, and 9 are buffs if the AT has them, Location AoE if not.
Tray 3: Toggles, crap. Usually keep the Warburg phase on ctrl+3 on all toons.
Tray 9 [wrapped around the main menu at upper right]: TPs [Mish, D, WW, Base], Walk [univeral detoggler], Rest, Self Destruct, other crap.

My main thing is disabling B, R, and H. I don't recall which does what besides H, but they do get me killed.

I've played before using a Belkin Nostromo for extra keys. And I tried programming my Logitec G11 Keyboard, but eh, binds work for me. The only toon I really waste powers on is my fire/ice/fire blaster.

    Most DPS?

I may be totally wrong, but in a pure, non-reciprication setting, such as the shop in RWZ, a blaster should be able to dish the pain pretty hard, sustained, for a minute.

And, I'm talking a pure setting, no insp, possibly even unslotted and no incarnate.

Defiance is going to help. And, if we don't go the unslotted route, buzzsawing is available when low on end.

The RWZ room isn't going to be the best for small PBAoE auras.

But, if you guys are talking not DPS, but DPS+Mitigation, well, whatever then.

[Note: We're not talking DPS per minute, we're talking DPM.]

[Edit: Is Umbral still around? He'd know this off the top of his head.]
  12. The 135k was heading into the Honoree mish. And that's very accurate as I'd just started Herostats. There's quite a lag due to the averaging. After we'd quit and I was standing in WW, it was still reading that I was making 20k per min so probably less than the 55k w the Longbow.

I'm wondering if you guys being 50++ had anything to do with how pumped up the longbow were. I was gulping acc insp and actually finding my stone epic melee was hitting the most reliably, and it only has two slugfests in it.

Longbow are quick death for my imps. Very quick. Veeeeery quick.
  13. Conveniently, Greased Wheels was a new 50 so we ran the Mender Ram arc at +4x8 and just ate it with only 4 Frads. But, Hyper and Tidbit were spamming the Judgement and Lore on us, so there was that.

Then we started tip mishs at the same level and ate them, even after Greased had to go. Until...Stupid Longbow and their Wardens and low XP at that. [I was the only one not a 50, so I cared about that.]

Overall, a good time had by all. And though we're getting less than a full team lately, the core group is getting really uber.

    Stupid but fun

    Organica is right.

You must solo along the wall in Cimerora, kicking them, especially Surgeons, over the edge. Can't think of anywhere lower level with that kind of opportunity.

    That's what crane is for.

[Unfortunately, I recently respecced out in favor of Crippling Leg Spasm.]
  15. My /inv gets capped on S/L when there's 3 guys around her, and that's w 70.4% resist S/L on top of that.

This is just with Haymakers, Reactive Armor, and a Multistrike set. [aka, dumpster diving]

She can't be killed unless I do something stupid.

What makes you survive as an /inv is taking Physical Perfection and putting the Performance Shifter unique in both it and Stamina. You'll need it. Your toggles are your life.
  16. Maybe I'm mistaken about Cinders, but I love it. Though I'm running Hot Feet and Choking Cloud at the same time, so that may effect some things. Well, at least Choking Cloud.

    I'm an EMP/Cinder junkie.

    Back on topic:
Deceive is gold. Also fun while waiting for people to show up.
  17. [Edit: Freedom server]

I don't think it's been mentioned in this forum lately, but every Monday a handful or more FRads form a team and burninate something. If you've never been on a team with that level of control running 8x AM, it's a thing to behold. [and also, you can have a horribly endurance challenged toon and it'll still work.]

Not sure what we're doing this week.

9pm East/8pm Central - Dirt mound, Talos - Tidbit and/or Hyperstrike will probably be the leaders. Filler ATs will be used to fill out teams, though melee will feel useless and sad.

Do you think it would be foolish to bring a lev 21 tank? Or do I need something less puny?

I'm interested in levelling up my tank, but I don't want to be some sad faceplant machine.

Blind is the most satisfying hold in the game, imo. Char is a close second, but the animation and sound of blind is excellent.
  20. Everything Local said.

Tornado is hated by teams except where it doesn't mess the situation up. Throwing it out there on an AV, like Rom in ITF, will help mess up the attacking troops and might make some small damage on Rom. I throw down a bonfire under him for the same reason.

    Spec Terror:
You can perma this and it's great. Wait until the tank aggroes a donut on himself and throw this over him. This can also be used as mitigation in a hallway, etc, for yourself and the other ranged squishies.

Proc only in the rain, and I personally feel that's a bit of a waste of a slot.

The only "bad" powers are both claps. They don't work. If you want a good lightning look, change costumes and pick that emote. Does about the same thing, wastes time and looks cool.

I found that my ill/storm had to hold back on teams once I was around 43 or so, so I stopped playing her. She was a chaos machine but the key saviour when things went bad. I've stood in a thin hall running everything I had when everyone else had faceplanted. Ill/storm, imo, is a situational AT. Too bad I really like playing it.
  21. I'll be there. I signed up via the Facebook for the first time. Thinking chiming in here might be more effective.

Man, I'd like to try my lev 21 ice tank but I'm thinking that'd be a mistake, not only due to the masterminds along, but being at the very lowest level available, he'd be a sad little thing. He pulls aggro harder than I've ever seen anything though, and needs damage dealers to keep from faceplanting. I should be able to cap him by lev 30.

So, looks like my best contribution would be Saltier, fire blaster. But Ink Girl, MA/Inv, really needs the shards. What she really needs is vmerits for the Gr'ai. She's still got nothing in her alpha.

    Probably Salty.

    True.

And we all have our own personal tastes. I can't do Fire/ because I can't get over the instant manifestation of a sword thing.

I've deleted a toon based on severe bashing in a thread. I had been dissapointed by my claw/electric and when a multi-page thread bashed them, I just deleted her.

That said, I've seen threads saying a MA/Inv is like driving a school bus. And my MA/Inv was parked for about 2 years, but, eh, It's the only way to have martial arts in the game.
  23. You know what I'd like to try...The statesman/honoree/whatever mish from the Alpha unlock. Though we'd need someone who's a 50 w/o it unlocked...and can a non-50 help?

Sis Psyche sounds OK. ITF sounds good. If SPTF can be done quick enough, both. Just no respec, no Citidel.

    Edit: Admiral Sutter TF, hmm?

True. Both my 50 scrappers "pull" by jogging through the first group into the second. They're /WP and /Inv so I need the aggro-donut.

I wonder if it could debuff a pylon...?

He knows MA and really digs it. This isn't about MA, it's about what else.

And, I'm not sure why others are thinking the OP was saying, "I have a MA I love, bash it please."

It's a game. People might want to have fun. Just because Bruce Lee didn't use a gun or have Batman's toys doesn't mean he wasn't a hero.
