then you may have to create a chat tab that reports the combat log

To copy what's already in the chat buffer use:
/copychat tab
Where 'tab' is the name of the tab.

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that the chat logs are saved in a sub-folder of your CoX folder. I don't remember which one offhand, but it's not too hard to find if you poke around.
If you don't mind some wonky data and your pet damage not being listed, I reccomend Herostats. It's really opened my eyes as to what my good powers are, and which ones are so sad that I should remove them from my trays [I'm talking about you, Flares.]
But, Herostats is not perfect. On my Fire/Rad controller, my imps are my main damage dealer, and they can't be tracked. Nor can Rain of Fire on my fire/ blaster, and in many situations that's a major damage dealer after aim and buildup.
It seems that ALL my chat tabs are saved in one logfile, how do I get just my Combat tab in one logfile?

As far as I know, you can't. Automatic Chat Logging logs everything to the log file.
As an alternative, you can manually copy individual chat tabs to the clipboard with the /copychat <tabname> command. It copies the entire chat buffer (up to 1000 chat log entries) from the specified chat tab into the clipboard, then you can paste that into a file.
Is there a way to automatically save a log of the combat file (to disk)?
