  1. Cool. I think I will just have to try them all out really. I also need to find a new server to start this on. Freedom and Virtue are full for me. Maybe Pinnacle or Guardian. Again, thanks to everyone for their inputs.

Mids shows that it affects the amount of defense that it provides (actually, that could be affecting the FFG and Maneuvers). If I have it running with my current build, I get ~58% S/L def. Also helps w/ Tactics I believe. If nothing else, I'll just try it out and see if I like it. I think this build will be a lot of fun to try while offering plenty of options of how to defeat the enemy. I'll have to double check on what Power Boost helps.
  3. Here is my i19 build. Just threw it together. Any ideas/suggestions are gladly appreciated.

  4. Wow...just wow. That video is awesome. Excellent job using two mice! I could never do it. My left had is just rebellious when it comes to coordination.
  5. I'm thinking of using stone/fire. It looks like a solid combo in Mids. Just a few certain enhancements, like Everfree_Fire pointed out, and it should rock!
  6. I look forward to trying TA on a MM when I get back. I'm just not sure which pets to pair it with.
  7. I have a DS/storm and there is some good synergy there as well. O2 boost is a nice heal/mez power. Freezing Rain debuffs and slows everything. Steamy Mist adds some element and nrg resistance and a small def buff. Hurricane allows you to herd and stack mobs in a corner, plus it kills acc. Later on (I'm not there yet), you get Tornado and Lightning Storm (is that right?). Basically, 2 more pets who dish out the dmg. The big problem I see is /storm tends to be end heavy. Since we have an Incarnate power to help with that, I'm thinking it won't be too bad.

ROFL. Both of you got me thinking about not making a DB stalker. I don't think I'd like a DB stalker. I prefer those combos to do the same things the scrap I had did (I only got up to Attack Vitals). I think I'll try a brute and a scrap. I've been trying to find a brute that I'd like. Maybe DB can show me the way

    FF/Dark Duo

I would love to try Tex's idea sometime. That sounds awesome. Or maybe even 2 MMs with /pain?
  10. The Dom would be faster in the lower levels. The Troller wouldn't get great at killing until you got the Fly Trap and slotted it up. Fly Trap + Carrion Creepers + Rads debuffs = dead. Even with that, I bet the Dom still out kills the Troller. It's all whichever is more fun.
  11. To answer the question posed by the OP, it all depends on the play style/mood of the player. I prefer ST toons sometimes because I feel like taking on a tough boss or EB. Overall though, I have no preference one way or the other. I just love to play this game.

As for Stalkers, they rock at taking down tough targets. They are my second favorite melee AT.
  12. After making a build in Mids (old version), I found that I could give my ninjas great def and survivability with /traps. I plan on making on once I get back to the states. I know the Repeat Offenders (RO) have a group night where they play ninja/traps. See if there is any info on their website about it. As for personal, I have none (yet). I imagine it's fun though since /traps rock.
  13. I think I will just have to make it for all the ATs and stick with who I like. I think the Tank version I may skip just b/c I already have several tanks on each server I play. I'll definitely look into all the other versions though. Thank you very much for the input.
  14. I can't wait to join you guys with my fire/rad when I get back home (deployed atm). I look forward to roasting some marshmellows, and bad guys, with you all. Hope you had a great Christmas and that your New Years is great too. See you in a month.
  15. I have only tried DB on a scrap that I had and my wifes lvl 50 stalker. I love the set and I want to make another DB toon, I'm just not sure which AT to use. I would love to hear what you guys think. I am open to all four ATs and all secondaries. Thanks and have a great day.

Doms are better at killing things quickly. I've only used a plant dom to lvl 10 once, but it was fun (big altoholic). I have a plant/rad troller in the mid 20s and i still prefer to team and just control and debuff/buff. Doms are great at wiping out mobs. It will depend on what secondary you want to use. I've heard great things about /fire and /psy. I'd say make a few toons and try them. Hope that helps.
  17. I think you should stick w/ TA. It seems like a fun set and it keeps you active. I plan on trying /TA out when I get back (past lvl 10 that is). I'd say wait until after Oil Slick. I've seen it in action and it's awesome.

    Painfull Altism

Guilty of altitis here. 40+ toons here. Only 3 50s. For me, having fun with the toons is more important than getting to 50. It's about the journey for me. I enjoy working them through story arcs alone and on teams. I have a great group of friends to play with and I also love to just play arcs and read the stories. Just do what makes you happy.
  19. I took a stone/axe all the way to 50. I can tell you that you don't really notice it that often. Most of the enemies just fall down at your feet due to the knock down/up. I also took TP to be able to move around when I needed to. If you find yourself knocking back too many enemies for whatever reason, you can either take a ranged attack from the ancillary/PPPs or you can just taunt them so they will (eventually) run back to you. I really enjoy using /axe though.

    Nec as baseline?

First off, I agree with your rankings.

I would really like to see Nin and Merc get improved to be as good as Necro. Once the "melee" bug is fixed, they could look at giving Nin and Merc some much needed improvements. That being said, I have played every MM primary to ~30 and they are all fun. I look forward to making more!
  21. Yay! I'm glad it came out before I got back. I can't wait to try this in Jan! Exciting!

Ok, most of my MMs will either take Musculature or Nerve. More dmg is always awesome but freeing up more slots is also beneficial. It'll definitely have to be a case-by-case basis.

If so, how was the road? I'm sort of wanting to try that with a Thugs/Pain but would like a little more info on the road less taken.

    Cheers!
I'm actually looking into using just the tier 2 and 3 pets for a build. When I solo w/ my bots/pain MM, I usually just use those 3 and the 2 attacks I took. For bots and demons, I can where just using those three would be much better b/c they can focus on healing themselves or the boss pet. I'm also going to try this kind of build w/ ninja/traps. Genin seem to die all the time and I just love watching the Jounin hack things to pieces while the Oni burns everything. Also on larger teams, I tend to use only those 3 so the maps aren't too crowded.
  23. Obscure Blade, I am definitely looking at sticking with Traps atm. The FFG is just too good. I could drop Acro and fit in something else. Also, with the FFG buffed the Genins just might survive long enough to get a few kicks off. I have to admit that when I solo though I still like to use just Jounin and Oni. They are fun to watch.

Baracca, I have a merc/poison MM and I'm really liking him so far. I would like to try /poison on a pet who is melee oriented like the Bruiser or the Hellfire Gargoyle. I bet it's awesome. I am glad you're enjoying ninja/poison. I tried a while ago into the teens and didn't like it that much. Maybe I'll try again though.

Thanks again for suggestions/ideas. I think I will stick with Traps atm. I am liking the Poison idea also. Man, I can't wait to play all the new stuff! Have a great day.
  24. You could slot him for healing (depending on your secondary) or give him another proc if you wanted to. Maybe one of the pet set procs? If you think he's great as is then I say leave him that way.
  25. First, thanks for the great advice/experiences shared. I had always thought ninja/pain would be annoying b/c of the low def of the pets. As for some of the suggestions:

    1. I was thinking my Jounin could just use their caltrops. I think me having that power also would be pointless, but then again I could put it in a much more strategic area. I will consider this.

    2. I have tried /FF and I find myself falling asleep at the computer very quickly. I don't think I'll ever like FF for any toon. As for /Dark, I have that on another MM and it is awesome. I may try /Dark with the ninjas. My only real downer for that is the very limited range of the heal. Darkest Night would be perfect for the ninjas though.

    3. I do plan on using the Genins to start out with and then respec out of them. Their def is horrible (i thought it was 5-6%) and they just die way too easily. I also plan on using plenty of IO sets but I like to start w/ general IOs and go from there.

    4. As for Acrobatics, if I can get some KB protection IOs then I might drop it. It does also offer some protection from holds, although I think the FFG in /traps does that too. I'll have to look it up.

Again, thank you for the advice/suggestions. I look forward to playing again soon. Have a great day.
