  1. so, it's just old defiance again? But it kills you slowly while stacking with new defiance?

Sweet, especially if theres access to the self-fallout...I can see this set being crazy-fun
  2. I love the idea behind critical mass!

however, what will be the exchnage rate, so to speak?

For example, you get a constnat 25% damage buff, in exchange for losing 5hp/sec or such?

  5. ok, edited OP to show the whole set...

I thought it'd be nice to save space from the big lump and keep it to a nice little link
  6. double post but...

    3 days and nothing? ;_;
  7. Well, with the advent of i17, my Regenerating wonder of an elec3 lost alot of his wonder...

his regen went from about 30hp/sec to around 23

and with that, i have some slots I need re-arranging, yet i have no idea what to do with them (they were originally heal IO's in health, to boost the procs).

I was wondering if someone could help me out in finding out what I can salvage from the regen build? Ideally I'd just like some more rech or damage...(with as little purple use as possible...they arent worth the cost of what I plan for him)

  8. Neat, so its essentially a matter of flavor then?
  9. by synergy I should have said better DPE cus of the whole brute-invuln-energy crisis
  10. heyo Broots, Ive decided to make another forray into smashing things, yet Ive been rather stumped on which of these to pick:

The concept is a (weapon)/invuln Brute, and Ive narrowed down the weapon to the only two Ive never played...

What are the differences between the two, and how do they stack up with invulnerability?

    The best DPS?

    The best DPS?

double post and a threadcromance....so sue me.

Now that we are getting DP, think itd be worth it to add the numbers to this thread?
  13. Player99

    Fire/Elec

if you're interested, i could probably find Umbral's DPS build for fire/elec which proved that the set is the most damaging thing you can have in this game.

but it is very heavily purpled and lacks defenses...
  14. @tripp: see the picture of samus for how the "building up of energy" would work XD

also, I know it would be easier to make just new sets for these options, but what would be the draw?

It would essentially be the same as it's base (energy blast) with a weapon, which raises two problems:

    1) what if said new set played different than energy blast?

This would effect the more seasoned crowd a bit more, as they would look at old energy blast, and the new pew-pew gun version, and realize the pew-pew's animations give it better DPS or such...and then you start to see less old-school EB's running around

    2) what if a player wanted to have some powers shot from their weapon, but others kept the same, or even to another weapon?

This is common for many famous characters, where some weak attacks they can do without their items, but rely on their mainstay for better attacks, and even a special item for the special attacks like Nova, etc.
  15. Kind of been tossed around the forums alot, but I have yet to see anything said about this in-depth:

What are the chances of weaponless sets having the ability to swap animations to other methods of using the powers?

the classic example is Energy blast going to a gun I believe for a Sci-fi shooter concept, or from a wand/sword for a more magical concept.

Is there anything specifically preventing this/any words from devs (babs?) about this?
  16. Player99

    fun brutes

i find the primary/secondary brute especially fun
  17. i find this little diddy is apropriate for the Dark/ /dark's out there, as well as just general action with them scrappers

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZvJ-2pgC9s
  18. indeed, but hey, the OP asked for the best combo, and two of the most powerful builds the game has to offer cant be out-done...
  19. neat guide!

(too bad I didnt see this earlier while being crazy and figuring out for my self what would work on my blaster's regen build XD)

right now my elec3 is sitting at a total of 437% regen (thats +259%), max HP, 28.1% res to s/l/nrg...along with 3 holds and AoE end drain.

    It's a blast!

(now, at 437%, i would be regenning at...a tic every 3-4 seconds?)
  20. if you dont mind going redside, 2 of the most powerful builds possible would easily make the most powerful duo (duh)

By this, i mean 2 robotics/traps/(insert choice here) MMs.

these bad-boys can do anything in the game solo with just SO's, get two of em and you'll cry tears of boredom as nothing challenges you anymore...
  21. my elec3 has....400% regen + max HP and works just fine...

but I cant help but wonder if itd be overkill to sacrifice some of it for some other Migitation, even with my 3 holds, end drain, etc...
  22. you know, its probably for the sole reason that Quills + AAO would be so friggen rediculous...

you know what I meant (gotta bump my old DPS thread here XD)

anywho, I think +dam is a more worthwhile endeavor for a blaster to go after than ludicrous recharge simply because of how defiance works.

On average a simple chain can net you a constant +40% ish dam buff. Add another +20% and you have 2 extra SO's of damage after a few hits.
  24. this thread is way to strong and pretty to be stuck in 2009...

    well that depends.

if you have enough rech to make a rather seamless chain, maximizing on defiance mind you, +dam is better.

actually, +dam should be siught after with blasters *because8 of how defiance works now...your fire/ice with the +40% should constantly hover around 90% dam buff
