Well, it does tell you what the recharge of a power will be after slotting a recharge enhancement now. And I think recharge/interrupt/end reduction are the only really confusing enhancements, beyond the concept of ED itself (which can be summed up as "don't slot more than 3 SOs or something). Everything else is just a straight % modification, like 33% more damage, or hitting 33% more often. But really, being able to use 3 recharge reductions to make a power recharge instantly would have been overpowered.

It's just part of those games and the sense of victory to play the whole "and in the morning, they sold their loot" thing.
In Terraria you can not only loot everything you come across, you can loot the dungeon itself. As in, take apart the walls and use it to build your own house.

    The ultimate in looting.

Well, Warner Brothers has gone a nice path with Batman lately.

    #1: Make awesome batman movies.

#2: Make awesome batman games, not actually based on the movies, but their own things. (Arkham city and asylum)

And this is just idle speculation, but City of Heroes would probably fit in with them.

Awesome hero game? Already made. They could probably make some splinter titles.

And then there's some awesome lore moments not actually in the game that would make nice movies: Rikti invasion? Brass monday?

And any successful movies would have a side benefit of getting people interested in the game they're based on. Kinda like how batman feeds into itself.

    Just an odd thought.

Well, they were pretty much autoattacks once I figured that out.

Made me feel annoyed that I had to autoattack a lot to use real powers.

When I attempted to play CO a while ago, the energy builder powers were toggles. Although, it took a while for me to figure out they were toggles, and I kept mashing the button for it. No idea if they changed that.
  8. This just gave me the oddest idea. What if a movie company wanted to acquire City of Heroes? I know warner brothers has a video game divison now.

That, and it'll be easier to get onto bigger news sites with the political conventions over. They're taking up a lot of news space right now.

Well, I can point to at least one company with positive reviews:
    http://www.glassdoor.com/Overview/Wo...7538.11,21.htm

Of course, it's probably hard for companies more in the middle to get good review scores. On average, more people that are bothered by something will go to a site like this than someone satisified.

I was sent two different e-mails telling me my Guild Wars e-mail address was changed. I've never played either of them. I'm assuming the links in the e-mails lead to some sort of phishing site.
  12. I sent a mail to TotalBiscuit's mailbox either the day of the announcement or the day after.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUv-aR7_wdY&feature=plcp
    mailbox@cynicalbrit.com

He has a fairly popular youtube channel where he gives impressions of (mostly new) games, and mailbox is something he does where he gives his opinion on game related questions sent to him by viewers.
  13. Are you only doing filming on Justice? When are you doing it?

Pitho would like to be included.
  14. Instead of the hard to understand body sliders we have now, sliders like in PSO2's character creator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiUmRujYUrA

    Those sliders are so nice.
  15. I make Pitho in a lot of games I've played.

    Ragnarok Online (Wizard)
City of Heroes (Dark/dark defender, later dark/dark controller)
    PSO (Force)
    World of Warcraft (warlock)

Probably some other games I can't remember atm, usually some kind of caster/magicish character.

Also have a few other names I tend to reuse
    Phaea:
    Ragnarok online (thief-> rogue)
City of Heroes (dual blades scrapper)
    World of Warcraft (rogue)
    SW:TOR (Bounty hunter)

    CrabSpiderPrincess-> Crab VEAT
    DKPrincess-> WoW Gnome Death knight

    And a bunch of others.
  16. Well, all I can think of is this:

If NCsoft allows the game to go on in some form, whether it be a buyout from another company or whatever, I'll be annoyed at the way they handled this, but not actively against them.

If the game goes down, I'm going to want to see NCsoft burn. Yes, I have a strong vengeful streak.

Not to mention, if NCsoft refuses to sell the game, and NCSoft does burn, someone might pick it up in the fire sale of their assets.

Of course, other efforts for now. Burning only if all those fail.

Activision dropped Brutal Legend, and went as far as to try and sue EA and Doublefine when EA tried to pick it up for publishing.

EA saving a game; Activision trying to bury something they decided they didn't want to publish anymore. That makes EA less evil than Activision in my book. I'm still sore at them for screwing up the end game of C&C with horrible copyright protection and destroying Westwood studios, but they don't have the CEO who wants to suck all the fun out of making games. And EA saved the game that got me liking Heavy Metal.

Anyway, I've sent my own e-mail to Valve, even before seeing this thread. Here's to hoping.
  18. I used to do a lot of obliteration crafting (buy recipe-> craft-> sell). Haven't done much marketing for like the last two months.

    Recovery 4.14 / sec
    smashing deffense 42.5%
    recharge 30%

i made sure i was not being buffed by anyone at the time , not even secondary mutation , or fortune and i was very happy to see the states after i slotted jump to
    Recovery 4.44 / sec
    smasing deffense 44.09%
(although i didn't see any change in the global recharge)

after a while and then loging out and back in the atributes were much lower at

    Recovery 4.26 /sec
    smashing deffense 42.79%
(and again no change on global recharge speed)

is there some factor i missed? this was on a WP brute , a lot of the deffence comes from sets, but also the WP deffensive abilitys, maneuvers, and combat jump
When you switch alpha slots, for a small period of time you have benefit of both whatever the first power was, and the new power. Your defense is where it should be now.

My sonic defender is already really close to the defender cap for smash/lethal resistance. 66%, goes up to 73% if he gets cardiac core paragon. Might get 75% without it when the IO set stuff goes through. Has no resistance set bonuses currently. Being able to buff myself, other resistances (except psi) would just get up to 53% without epic shield (epic shield will only be able to cap a few). It'd help, at least. A lot of non smash/lethal damage in higher levels.

Hover doesn't have travel supression, and if you fully slot it for flight speed has a fairly nice movement speed. My crab spider gets 46.8 mph from her hover, which is prty close to max flight speed without afterburner (58).
