I'm gonna have to agree with your initial diagnosis I'm afraid. Much as I'd like to see snow/sleet/blowing leaves/hurricanes/firestorms, hell anything!
It looks like your 'pooter is broke. Because the statues on the building are suspiciously covered too. Dang them.
Sill, we can dream -
It really does depend on what you are after and how much back up you can expect. I rolled a fire/fire blaster for the Omega TF a while ago, and having my own personal empath on the draw as well as all the other debuff goodness from everybody else was incredible. I quite easily became the top "arrester" for our team and was a hell of a lot of fun to see how far I could push it.
Three +3 mobs whilst I had Fort, AM, CM, RA (both of em) a tank meant I could pile straight in with Fireball, Fire Sword Circle and have one left maybe. Truely the orange numbers were a sight to behold.
On the other hand, I've seen an AR/Energy use boost range followed by a 200ft. Full Auto cone and draw an unholy amount of aggro. Right up till they all keeled over.
But my most well rounded Blaster has been my Fire/EM. Not really a PvP'er myself, though I have taken him for a spin once or twice. But in PvE, I've got options. A well herded mob? Fireball, Fireball, Fireball. Freak Tank about to clobber me? Bonesmasher and Power Thrust as they are fast attacks.
These are just my experiences though, as always. Your mileage may vary. -
The only one I've thought about enough to have decided where he lives is my main Swordkin.
He is currently residing in an apartment in Steel Canyon which was presented to him by the Freedom Phalanx to help him to recuperate after the mental stresses of fighting in the First Rikti War.
He was part of the alpha team and has spent the last few years working on getting back to full strength.
Everyone else lives on the top of train stations, as that's where I tend to log out for some reason. -
This all sounds like good stuff. Personally, I'd be more than willing to buy all that stuff as a paid expansion. No sweat.
With regards to the morality scale, I'm meh. My characters usually have some motivation for what they are doing so I would always no matter what choose that option. For eg, KOTOR even if I need the credits, I won't do anything evil when going for a light side jedi.
Really, the way I see it. If you did have 3 options, one of them would lead you through the rest of the arc as it is now, and the other two would need a bit of re-write to swing your meter the other way.
OTOH, what's to say there will be multiple mission branches every mission. Maybe or two per arc depending on how well it could be shoehorned in, but I see no reason why the branching mission structure would immediately affect every mission for every contact in the game.
Perhaps if they added a mini-arc or TF when you reach a certain level of morality and you don't officially change sides until you do this? That way if you wanted to avoid going from good to bad, all you need do is avoid the contact. That way everything would stay avaliable to you until you decided to change for definite. -
To be honest, and this is completely unsupported hearsay I picked up from some forum somewhere in the U.S. I believe this was just relating to the Cimeroa shields the Centurions use. I have no doubts whatsoever that shilds will be coming soon, but this has been going on for a while now.

Pretty handy all round I think, most of these would be great. Personal thoughts would be more to do with my O.C.D
For example, I like to have the highest tier insps I can and arrange them in pretty little patterns in my tray. The ability to buy level two and three inspirations (even at a huge increase in price, say 100k and 1 mil for the next two tiers) would be nice. Plus the ability to rearrange my enhancements without a full respec. At the minute I have to buy enough enhancements to fill in any slots I currently have. Which can be expensive
I'm sure there are other things too, I'll ponder it a bit and post 'em later.
Oh yes! Barrel Rolls and loop the loops for Fly! Missed opportunity that. -
I think to be honest people are getting too hung up on the numbers here. Yes both are very good at their chosen field, with Brutes overall edging out in front because of more reliable high damage if they can maintain fury and slightly better defences, but I'd still rather play a scrapper in most situations purely because I enjoy them more.
You can prove anything wih facts and accurate figures, but I still prefer scrapping to bruting. So nyer -
Personally, I've found Scrapping to be more of a mindset than Bruting. Boiling it down to it's most basic level, I would say:
Brutes go nuts because they have to (Fury, natch).
Scrappers do it because they can!
I actually read an 80 page thread on the U.S forums about Scrapperness and that prompted me from changing my newest project Fire/Regen, from a toon who was going to solo as many arcs as possible so I could view some of the games history/stories, into the typical scrapper who lives for the 6-second rule (how did I miss that first time?) and scrapperlock.
I would say that brutes are more survivable and do more damage, 800% damage cap anyone, but scrapping is a way of life!
The US thread is called Awesome Quote. and is currently languishing on page 6 as I write this. -

What I want to know is why the devs hate Lichtenstein. There's not one Lichtensteinian hero, villain or NPC in the game. This smacks of discrimination.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's Nemesis fault...as always.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not everything is a Nemesis Plot! Except for the things that are, and the thing Nemesis wants you to think are not Nemesis plots that really are.
Also Devs hate heroes cos we can't use the Super Computer for missions, where villains get a shiny SF out of it! Of course, that's assuming the Devs don't hate your specific VG enough to mean you can't afford a Super Computer and can't use anything at all. Bring back COP pl0x -

Though in all honesty I think a better question would have been:
Do Tankers really need Taunt?
1) Yes
2) No
3) Flame-proof suit

Earth/Rad
Grav/Storm who is proving to be a lot of fun -
You know what? Not really a big fan of PvP myself. All too often turns into a gank-fest, with me as the corpse in the corner....
But what the hell, if enough people turn up. So will I, could be good fun. Brace yourselves everybody. Easy rep incoming -
Additionally, if you manage to three slot swift, quickness and sprint with Run Speed IO's, you'll pretty much be at SS levels anyway. Then, if you activate Elude, you'll be at the speed cap. So if you don't want to take a travel power it's a perfect valid tactic for a SR and there would be no travel suppresion either, just in case you did decide to go into PvP later. It'd also save you a couple of power choices making it easier to squeeze in the Medicine pool.
-
I have a fire/em blaster and agree with you on this point. Personally I'm going to drop it and/or move it to my lvl 49 power pick. Because of all the powers I've had to pick thus far, I've lost Bone Smasher and will be replacing it with that instead. Though I probably will keep it for emergencies.

I'm sorry. I'm gonna have to go with the consensus here and say that was easily the best player made video I've ever seen. Professional, intense and very atmospheric.

I also have a level 50 Katana/Regen and I'm mainly an ardent PvE'er, but recently I've started to move into the PvP arena with him, and he's doing ok, considering I have no idea what I'm doing most of the time though. I'll agree it's probably the most fun toon I've ever had PvE and I was able to tank the Rikti Mothership raid we had the other day, although with my build I couldn't have held aggro if you'd put a gun to my head, I was able to take the Alpha and the majority of the pylons attacks without any problems.
With regards to PvP builds, one of my SG came up with this one, be warned it'll cost ya silly money though

Something along the lines of 700% regen in there, give it a swizz if you have the cash, this is currently so far out of my league it's not even funny -
On my main it's gonna have to be a recent arena match I joined in, myself versus 2 blasters and a troller. Playing a Katana/Regen and they just couldn't stop me. It took all three of em spamming holds and bashing buttons as fast as they could to even slow me down
Hot Feet, Rise of the Phoenix, Ice Storm, Phantasm. Nothing could touch me, after that one of them asked me for my build as I kicked @55 that much he wanted to make one of his own, and it's not even pvp specced!
Favourite example was when I'd first got the game and was running some missions with an 8 man team at about level 20 or so, including tanks, blasters, defenders and trollers. Hit the Room Of Death and the tank accidentally aggroed the whole lot, everyone panicked and a team wipe ensued, with the exception of myself, who with a regular supply of insps supplied by dead teammates, cleared about 4 mobs of 8 man strong spawns solo! One of the defenders said: "He's unstoppable! He's nearly cleared off all my debt!"
Most fun EVER.... -
Even death can't stop you and you're back up with all your toggles on and kicking bum again before your corpse can even hit the floor
Revive ftw! -

And what is wrong with Regen? For soloing it's arguably the best secondary.

Eco Warrior Scrappers ftw! Not only do we arrest everything with extreme prejudice, we care for the environment too -
I'll /sign that too, Lost you very severely rocked in that raid and hand holding 49 other heroes through the raid was the least of the effort you put in for it to be a success.
I'm sorry I had to leave early but getting into work the next day on about 3 hours sleep would probably have finished me off
However, I am off this weekend, so who's up for round 2?
As for the Leeroy Jenkins, moment... Well that was hysterical, and don't forget... We ALL followed him, God help us. I was laughing about that all night -
I shall join also, any location, any time, impossible odds drive me to greater and greater heights! Ready and willing to stand shoulder to shoulder with the very finest Paragon City has to offer.
Swordkin will be there to cover your backs heroes and to throw the Rikti Invasion Fleet back into the cold void of the nether between our dimensions!
I shall try to muster our defenses in P.I. to allow us to strike back at these alien scum on their homeworld and shut their portal down for good...
