The entire active roster of the Militia had been summoned to base for an emergency debrief by Pious Angelus, formerly known as Pious Hunter. Currently, a member of the of the FBSA was completeing his speech of apology.

"So in conclusion, on the behalf of the FBSA I sincerely apologize for the troubles you have been put through this week. However, may I stress further that this has not been meant as a breach of your privacy. The tracking system was a last resort and was not meant to be mandatory, there were some misunderstand on the PPD's side of things." The man paused, but a slight laughter escaped him. "Needless to say, the Police hate you Militia people more now that before" he said through fits of giggles. After realising most of his audience was not laughing, he recomposed himself and left the podium. "Thank you for your time and good luck with tonight's mission"

Pious Angelus then took the podium.

"Good evening Militia, as you all know Sabrina San has become an international fugitive on suspicions of murder. Our mission tonight is to find her and bring her in for questioning." Pious paused for dramatic effect. "Ladies and Gentlemen, last night I had a premonition. It is the reason you have been called here for this meeting. I have reason to believe that Sabrina San herself will walk into the room later this evening with a prior intent to surrender. However, for some reason she will turn and flee to Independence Port before attempting to warp across dimensions via the Pocket D gates. Thank you for listening" Pious swiftly exited the podium, replaced by Mer'de.

"Pious's premonitions have been a hundred percent accurate in the recent past and so, I have decided it best to assign a team to wait in Independence Port at Valor Bridge should she turn up. Pious has provided us insight into the route she will take in her escape attempt. The particular are being downloaded onto your data devices as I speak." said Mer'de.

Just last week the famous herogroup the Militia were favourites in the public
eye for their incredible efforts in battling crime, but today their entire
organisation is under investigation.

So far police reports have shown that several members of the group have been
patrolling without licenses. Hero Magazines interviewed a spokesman from the
Ministry of Founders Falls security, who fund the Militia.

“True, some members of the Militia do not have a license, yet.. but they will do
once their applications are finalised. For now, our veteran members mentor those
without licenses. There is no vigilantee or criminal activity within the Militia.”

Militia hero Nightsparrow, newly wed to Coile of the Silent Tempest and close
friend of hero legends Monsiuer Mer’de and Lady Cobra is still in jail facing
several charges of murder, assault, vigilanteism and property damage.

More bad news for the Militia is that the wanted hero Dragonfly is also facing
charges of murder, theft and property damage on top of refusing arrest.

According to reports, the Ministry has offered to bail out both Dragonfly and
Nightsparrow until the completion of their court cases, in the hope that
Dragonfly would stop running and that Nightsparrow would return home to
care for her pregnancy.

We met with a spokesman of the Federal Bureau of Super Powered Affiars to
ask about the progress of the investigation.

“Well as of Thursday the Militia will be released from house arrest following
an agreement with the Ministry, but also we have all the information that we
needed from Dragonfly’s colleagues. The Militia are no longer under suspicion
but it was evident from our inspection that a small few are abetting Sabrina San
and obstructing justice, a matter which will be dealt with after the team’s special
mission this coming thursday - to locate and apprehend the fugitive, Dragonfly.”

Phew! I've made some improvements to Episode 1's footage but there are still more things need fixing, don't worry I know what they are. I have now included Maxy's interview with Acenra, so enjoy and thanks for the kind words.

Last night Longbow officers led by Manticore and Synapse arrived at the Militia base with the Police to place the whole group under house arrest. Although the Militia were asked nicely to co-operate with the Paragon Police, there has already been violent conflicts. This spells the beginning of an end for the Miltia.

The Dragon Sabre – Part Ten: Bloodshed

Siren’s Call, Paragon City
Wednesday, 24th January – 18:13

“Do as you are told and hand over my swords” commanded Wu Long, but Sabrina stayed silent and immobile. Her breathing deepened and her heart raced, in her mind’s eye she was predicting the fight she was about to engage. Suddenly, she struck at the tall man with a palm-heel to the chin. Wu Long effortlessly dodged the attack, but the girl was persistent. Within seconds she had thrown nearly twenty strikes aimed at Wu Long’s head area, but he simply dodged it all.

“If you try to hit me, you will not succeed. Visualise your follow-up before an initial strike” said Wu Long, taunting her. Sabrina sped up her attacks, lunging in with focused palm strikes. “You’re not trying hard enough”

Sabrina stepped back quickly to re-focus her chi. After executing a series of swift movements using both arms and hands; she adopted a crane-like posture. Wu Long however, remained rooted in his spot. For several seconds, the two exchanged a tense gaze. The winter breeze whistling past, carrying bits of snow with it, everything seemed to be deathly quite. Suddenly, Sabrina exploded into action. Her hands moved so fast they left behind a trail, as she executes swirls and twists to daze her opponent, meanwhile building up energy. Gradually, she danced closer and closer to Wu Long. At a close enough range she balances on one foot and lifted her whole body high up in the air as though suspended by a think rope, then stays there, frozen and open to attack. Wu Long meets the invitation with a single strike of his fist but faster than the eye could see, she collapsed to the ground and leapt up high like a frog, somersaulted over her opponent, and spins into a blazing roundhouse kick aimed directly at Wu Long’s ribcage. The blow connected with shocking strength breaking every bone in the immediate area of impact. As though in slow motion, Wu Long fell to the ground, clutching at his ribs.

“Is that better sensei?” Sabrina asks sarcastically. She stood directly over him with a strange look in her eyes. Wu Long gasped desperately for air. His vision began to swim as he clambered across the icy earth only to meet a crushing blow to the skull. “Stay down. I’ve won. I’ve won you” she muttered, absent-mindedly. “The swords are mine. Nobody can take them away from me. Nobody! Nobody… nobody can… Can take them away from me” For several minutes, she watched his body for signs of movement, nothing. A thousand thoughts raced through her mind, but eventually she arrived at the realisation of what she had done.

“Oh god… Damn it. Oh my god” she muttered, nervously. “What am I gonna do?” A hundred ideas swam across her mind, she thought about dicing his corpse in the hope that it would wash away with the snow once it melted. “No. Bad idea; stupid idea” she told herself, still staring at the body in the hope that it would re-animate.

“I got it. I got it” she muttered. Slowly, she produced one of her swords. It was extremely long and thin, with an iron hilt sculpted in the shape of a wingless dragon curled around the handle like a snake. This was the Soaring Dragon katana. She executed a short sequence of hand movements so fast that the blade seemed to slice the air. A sudden red glow emanated from the eyes of the dragon as Sabrina pointed the tip of the sword at Wu Long’s motionless body. The sword ignited into flames and shot a single ball of fire at her master’s body. She stood and watched him burn to ashes seemingly without emotion.

When the heat cleared, Sabrina sighed in relief. “Well. That takes care of that, phew.” With a single twirl of her hand, the sword’s flames died out. She produced the second blade, similar in appearance to the Soaring Dragon katana but the hilt here is sculpted in pure gold to resemble a sleeping dragonfly whose crystal eyes glowed blue when handled. This was the Golden Dragonfly katana.

Sabrina began an incantation in the Chinese language, while performing a complex sequence of hand movements involving both swords. “Blood which flows through my veins. Love of my heart, heir of San. I summon the power of the Dragon Sabre.” She somehow clips the two glowing swords together, forming one large broadsword almost six feet long, with three sharp hooks along its serrated teeth. The hilt, sculpted as a winged dragon in mid-flight completed the fierce look of the mythical weapon. Sabrina performs a complex dance with the monstrous sword during which she undergoes a magical metamorphosis, evolving into a winged version of herself.

“Well, that took longer than usual” she muttered, before flying off into the midnight, apparently without regards to what she had just done.

Quite an imaginative story here, with lots of potential. I like the range of different characters and hope to read more on them. Its clearly an interesting hero organisation and it'd be nice to read more about their relationships. Be sure to work on your grammar and punctuation. I look forward to reading the next instalment.

I'm thinking a loco FF-troller might herd to capitalise on his AoE hold but for a loco FF-mm to herd... her minions will probably get distracted out of supremacy range. However, assuming they stay by her side throughout the herding, the only benefit I see from this is for a Corruptor to then nuke 'em or a Dominator on the team. Maybe I dont understand because I just solo or team with the Gang.

At any rate, with Scorpion Shield and Dispersion Force Field running you're looking at just under 30% defense to lethal, smashing and energy. Top that with other available self defense buffs such as Combat Jumping (+3.9) and bodyguard mode, maybe even Force Bubble to prevent the melee attacks and sustain aggro, and you've always got Personal Force Field if the dust hits the fan. Its do-able without Provoke but I can imagine it'll help keep aggro.

Why you would want to herd with a MM, usually quicker to see and kill?

Thanks again, you've pointed out details that I should have provided, but clearly forgot to or missed out on.

To clarify, by the end of the fight with Shoutu (who is basically like a giant Igneous monster but more shadowy) the darkness in the temple had been sucked into him/it. I'll try and make this clearer. Also, Sabrina fought at the bottom of the pit while Meriam stayed up above, and it is her who lost her footing.

Isle is another repeated typo - I meant aisle. I'll probably change the concrete to stone. Glad you like the mythic feel, really glad.

Yay more grilling, brilliant! Xinjiang is where I have set most of the story - more typos, thanks for bringing that to my attention.

All twelve of them were uniformed in light armour and armed with the katana. They wore black to emphasis the theme of the Clan. - Reads better I think.

Glad you enjoyed the fight. Always good to have a compliment in there somewhere and the pit is extraordinarily deep - I thought I mentioned this? Its also lit at the bottom, where the monster lives.

Shame that I missed it, I was at Church. Anyway, it was a good service so no regets!
