"Thank you for coming gentlemen, please, follow me this way" said the fast-talking young lieutenant, leading the two men around the desk where an elevator welcomed them with a low ding. "We've sent copies of the case files to roughly six prominent detectives and officers, we need as much help on this case you see, we think the killer is a mutant and his or her powers are unheard off, way beyond the supernatural. Hope you're not claustrophobic." said the lieutenant, stepping into the open elevator and pressing for the sixth floor.

A young man dressed in black emerged from behind a wall and entered into the lobby area. His bright white tie stood out like a flourecent bulb, swinging loosely side to side at each majestic step. His shiny police badge hung casually from his waist, accompanying his handcuffs and firearm. He reached the registration desk and intercepted the detective. "PI Greene, I'm Lieutenant Hicks" he said, with an intrusive handshake poised for collection.

((Open Roleplay: Paragon Police Department's psychic division have been called in to work alongside Forensics on a murder case. If your character works with the police, they may have called you in too, so feel free to join in and help with the investigation. Same golden rule, no god-modding, enjoy.))

You receive a copy of the case files and at your initial glance were able to read about the incident, a murder at the Atlas Park Hotel Geneva, the primary objective to find and stop the attacker, the clues from hotel staff who found the body and lastly, a suggested method of action telling you to follow up on clues by intuition, forensics and psychic detection. Maybe you aught to visit the crime scene.

Hey again, I've finished planning some murder mysteries and will open a thread soon. It would be nice to have a list of who will attend the plot so, err, if you want in and the PPD are able to call your character to this case, please post here the name of your participating character. (390)

This conversation reminds me of when I used to PvP a lot, with SweetChilli and the likes. Rooftop meetings in Warburg, dozen or so fighters, nice fun organized battles. Those where the days.

Come to think of it, I agree, a multiple Union Legends arcs would actually be a way to go. Anyone should be able to make a variation, and if they are all titled similarly, it'll remain linked. For example, "Union Legends: The Doppelgänger Crisis" followed by "Union Legends: Salarius's Fortune" or "Union Legends: America vs. Sweet Chilli" or something. It'll be like different chapters of the same local legend. Anyway, its taken ages to compile but here is a list of players mentioned so far.

I know the feeling. Its great that we have many police officers and detective characters. I'm hoping to do a string of open roleplay 'investigative' plots. I'm still working on the story, layout and supply of clues, structure of play and possibly incorporating Mission Architect. Is there anyone with experience in this sort of plot, send me a private message please, could use some advice. I'm hoping most of you will join me on this open RP project?

Heh, thanks Lunk. I'm avoiding listing my legends as it's a very long list, but you're in there Lunk, great man with a good heart and an honest mind. As for the Mission Architect story, how is this for a premise, (its similar to the one I intend to use for Gladiators but could work even better on a universal scale). Spoiler Begins: Basically, an employee of Crey Industries sneaks a document to the papers which leaks information on some super-secret illegal science project. Some well-known semi-retired heroes (probably a nominated defunct-SG that was once legend) rushes along to look into it, they get caught by Crey's paragon protectors. So the first mission is to locate missing person(s) <insert favourite Retired Legendary Hero(es) here> and search for clues. First clue explains that Crey are running illegal experiments again. With rescued hero(es) as allies, the second mission is to infiltrate Crey Industries and search for clues. This is where it gets hot because there are AV's everywhere, the team of heroes (the players) come face-to-face with DNA replicas of themselves or other famous heroes! Crey-Branded clones of Max Khaos, Shotta, FFM, you name it, a whole frigin army. After defeating the army of AV-class clones, they search for clues. Turns out that Countess Crey was working with Nemesis on this evil science project, secretly trying to infiltrate the Union community of heroes! The third mission brings them to fight through Crey agents and the Nemesis army, defeat Fake Nemesis and capture Countess Crey, but when you think it's over, there's another TWIST. Countess Crey has passed on the scientific formula and DNA samples. You learn that it's about to go onto the black market! Mission four, the players hurry to the Rogue Isles (outdoor map) to stop the distribution. They crash an auction, fighting through swarms of Tsoo, Family, Marcone, Warriors, you name it. They manage to stop the trade but you learn that <insert name of the most beloved ex-player> has been kidnapped by Nemesis for more Crey experiments. Mission five, the finale, (maximum of five right?) the players infiltrate Grandville, bust in on Countess Crey, but she's accompanied by other major players, psychic Clockwork King, Arachnos Lieutenants, Rikti Bosses, they're eventually defeated, and the players make it to the last room, Fake Nemesis is standing over <insert name of most beloved ex-player>, but as you try a rescue, you're ambushed by wave after wave of other Crey-Branded clones (enough scope for everyone nominated to have a clone take part). After a successful win, the operation is shut down and our 'retired heroes' are saved. Final Twist... turns out its all "just a game" set up by virtual interactive programmers AE Corporation. Alternative Ending: ... its "not a game" - Clues indicate that an impostor on your team has collected your DNA and donated it to Crey Labs, the project begins AGAIN, rinse and repeat. Ends

I just read 1 - 11 and I must say, your work has become a real classic read! Part 1 was weird but it showed promise. Part 2 however, has really got me hooked. I love the detective angle, the writing is very good, the art rendering is effective and most importantly, I can really identify with the characters and their situations. Good work mate, and way to represent the Defiant Universe, could always do with more creativity from 'that other side'. Yeah, keep it up and keep it real. I look forward to reading the next installments, but give us more Hornet.
