  1. As I posted here, I can't Edit the lighting of a base room without it crashing.

Kinda rough, since I've seen so many nice bases with great lighting effects, and I can't even do the same for my own bases.
  2. Actually, I was teamed with a level 35 yesterday (trying to get myself to 35), and he was still getting Sky Raiders for newspaper missions.

And considering he had the difficulty jacked up, that meant we were still fighting level 35s, but getting the xp/inf bonus for the higher difficulty. Kind of an exploit, to be sure...

But if not everybody is getting the Sky Raider option, then it was probably just a bug for our group (maybe having less-than-35 villains in the group caused it).

I'd think that newspapers should at least offer the same villain groups as that zone has. St. Martials has Family, Freakshow, Devouring Earth, CoT, Carnies, Arachnos, and even Wailers (although they might not work so good in a newspaper, considering there backstory). Toss in the Tsoo (and add a few more Tsoo members post-30), as well as the existing Sky Raiders, and that's a lot of variety of enemies to fight.
  3. When soloing, I go from group to group, just to keep the Fury up. The problem is when in groups, everybody else (that is, the non-brutes) are so used to the CoH way of waiting between spawns (gotta get that hp and end up!), so I'm forced to run a bit ahead.

Not a problem with I'm with one or two others (spawns aren't too bad), but I can't do that with 7-8 person teams! =>_<=

Fortunately, Energy Cloak allows a bit of melee-pulling.

    Ah, Brutes... full andrenaline rush!
  4. I'm chiming in here, too, because with my Energy brute, and ED, I'm actually wanting to slot a disorient SO in my attacks (especially Total Focus and Bonesmasher, as they seem to have the highest chance of causing a stun). Plus, I'm getting Stun, so that I can deliberately disorient an opponent.

I'm glad that the flying/hovering enemies won't go taking off again, but that doesn't fix the fast movement, and jumping, that other disoriented enemies get.

Holds work the same on enemies as they do players.
Immoblizes work the same way on enemies as they do players.
Sleeps work the same way on enemies as they do players.

So why do disorients work differently?

ED stands for "enhancement diversity", and for the first time since CoH's launch, I have a reason to slot attacks with something other than acc/dam enhancers, but I'm concerned that stacked disorients on an enemy will cause more trouble than it's worth.

    Dark Armor Sound

    [ QUOTE ]
Why don't they set it up so that you can choose if the sounds fade out or not? Add a toggle switch in the Options menu or something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not just a toggle, but add a slider there for how long before it fades (should you choose to have it fade). That way, those who hate the sound entirely, can set it to 0 (no sound at all), and those who don't mind it, but don't want it on all the time, can set it higher (10 seconds, 30 seconds, a minute, whatever).
  6. I got Doc Percy at 15 (I did her stuff in Beta, so I picked her as my third broker contact, after doing all of the other two ctontact's missions), but she didn't introduce me to Brass.

Now does Willy or Golden introduce you to Brass after a while, or is there a bug with Percy not doing it? =0_o=
  7. For my energy/energy brute (which I had at 24 in Beta, and am now remaking for Live), I took the first two attacks, then got some secondaries, as well as Build Up, before taking a third energy attack. With a recharge on Brawl, I used that, plus the first two energy attacks, for my fighting.

I put two accuracies and an endurance reducer on each attack (not Brawl), and didn't bother with damage enhancers until I had some defense/resist slotted up. I'm planning on two acc, 1 end reducer (2 or 3 for toggle defenses), and 3 damage per attack, or 2 damage and a disorient enhancement (haven't decided yet).

The key is Fury, so rush from spawn to spawn, popping Catch a Breaths when needed, and only stopping when you're about to run out of end. It's actually kinda intense, just Resting, as you're watching your endurance go back up, as well as your Fury plummeting. I find myself thinking "c'mon, Rest, faster faster", and have even dropped out of Rest early, just so I have a decent amount of Fury left in order to SMASH! =^_^=
  8. Well, I bought my pre-ordered copy, and tried to put in the serial code for the retail version. It wouldn't accept it until Monday, according to the error message, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

I suppose if a store just put it on the shelves for anybody to buy, it's the store's fault, not NCSoft, not Cryptic. This game doesn't go Live until Monday, unless you successfully entered a pre-order code into your Upgraded account. Simple as that.
  9. It's Posi! =O_O=

    *throws a Posi-Ball*

    "You have captured a Positron"

    Woot! =^_^=
  10. I suppose one way of doing things, if you can't afford the inf loss, is to have your hero/villain exemplar down, or enter a PvP zone that's lower than your level to be auto-exemplared down, and do stuff that way in SG mode.

Still rack up prestige and salvage, but you won't be earning xp before you get enough inf to buy enhancements.
  11. Yay, good bind list!

    5 peppermints for Sandolphan! =^_^=
  12. Only got to see three heroes: Manti, BAB, and Ms. Lib.

I did like Manticore's threat to use his "enema arrows". =^_^=

Wasn't too crazy about Agent Lupin's stupid hurricane (that thing had serious knockback, well pushback, since I had resistance to knockback) and somebody else's perma-fear that had me shaking for many minutes straigtht ("oh I'm free, okay now I'll, gah scared again!").
  13. I do hope that there are new missions that involve Arachnos in Paragon. Maybe even a fifth contact for the level 45-50 heroes? =O_O=

Lessee... Enhancement Diversification, Siren's Call (PvP zone), Supergroup options update (bases themselves will require CoV), and most likely all the neat little QoL stuff that was added in CoV (options menu change, new helpful popups. option to remove the "are you sure?" from enhancement placement, etc.)...

Yeah, that's sounds like a full issue. Let's hope there's some other stuff, like new tilesets, costumes, missions, maybe a Trial or two....
  14. Depends on what a base costs. I mean, if they just give all SGs a simple, one-room base, and anything more costs, then solo SGs can get their base, and put some decorations in it.

If they are solo, they certainly are not going to be into raiding and stuff, so their base is just a "neat place to visit".

And even if it costs prestige to get a base at all, how much prestige? I mean, it can't be insane amounts, or the newly created level 10 SGs (which is what many new players will start) will like a base as soon as possible. For them to have to rack up prestige well into their 30s or 40s is a bit much to ask...
  15. For my ice/energy blaster, Peppermint Cat: "Peppermint Justice!"

For my tanker: "For Justice! And tuna!"

For my Rad/Rad defender: "Nuke 'em till they glow!"

For my "scary" dark/dark scrapper: "Booga Booga!"

    And lovely bumpage there, ImpactHound!

    Thorn Casters

    Ooh, thanks, Geko! =^_^=

Now when does Issue 5 hit Test?
  17. Oh yeah, training enhancements.... I'll allow for those drops during my teens, and even into my 20s, but after 30? Heck, after 40?

I just did a level 50 mission with my level 46 defender (I was the lowbie in the group ), and I received one SO, 1 DO, and five training enhancements! Now what in the world would I do with five 49-51 level training enhancements?

When I solo, and get stuff like that, if I'm in a generous mood, I'll swing by Atlas, Galaxy, Kings Row, or Hollows, and give them to lowbies with cool costumes/backstories... but in a group, those get deleted right away (or given to other heroes... like Go_Sabres =^_^=).
  18. *marches into thread heavily armed*

    *reads Statesman's post*

    =0_o=

Ooh, so stores are here to stay? For now?

    . . .

Okies, kitties! Everything is cool, go back to sleep!

*sound of a thousand mewing kitties dispursing back to their catnaps*

  19. I dunno. The stores gives a sense of a city. That business if being transacted there. Removing the stores... well, I supose you could put some NPC contacts there, just like the ones in Bricks and Founders, but people already have a heck of a time finding those guys... why confuse them in the 20s?
  20. Actually, that's not true. Your first contact will send you to another contact that's in Atlas/Galaxy/Kings Row. That second contact will, right off the bat, send you to Hollows to see Wincott. If you return, then you'll do missions normally.

If you're in Atlas when you hit 5th level, then just head to Hollows, click on Wincott, then head to your second contact.
  21. Galaxy is great for alts. Freedom HQ, the hospital, the Security Chief, and the train, are all within a block or two of each other. Atlas has you running all over the place.

But Atlas is definitely the place to go for the first-time hero. Makes you say "ooh".
  22. Oh wow, I didn't even know that the online walkthroughs had stories with them.

*seconds the wonder if those are continuity storylines*
