Quote:And badges...like accolades or Master of <name> badges, which Level 1 toons did not earn and why you can roll up alts.Well no, there would be key differences, like
-Not having to re-do the costume (which isn't a big deal with costume saving but still)
-Getting the same name
-Not having to switch characters when you want to play the other one
...Which is kind of the whole point of the suggestion... -
Quote:That is true that it is possible now, but the OP already stated the restrictions:I already sort of do this.
When midrange salvage prices get stupid, go to ouro, exemp to 29, go to DA.
Go hunt - kill zombies.
Quote:Level requirements.
No fine-tuning.
Can't invite teammates. -
Can you clarify the XP gain?
Now that we can exemplar and not only gain XP but access to powers up to 5 levels more, there could be a sweet spot (like around 32 and controller/dom pets) where toons can self-exemplar down and just rake in XP because the mobs are not properly balanced to them and gain levels but never change level since they are auto-exemplared. This is different from Oro/TFs because they are finite arcs and once done, you are back to your old level.
This may not be a direct exploit or used often by players, but asking the question. -
So is this a question or a suggestion? The question section is up a ways.
If a suggestion for a new zone, try giving some details/background. Just saying add this isn't much to go on.
Here is one zone idea I liked: link -
Quote:Lost performance in this game? Entire builds really??? Come on, I have toons with SOs still in them and they still function. That is min/maxing to an extreme. It's not about billions lost on a single set. To recoup the lost performance, entire builds need to be redesigned. This will require multiple repecs or the loss of enhancement you may have put a lot of effort into acquiring.
If this were an isolated case, I for one would not care. But this has happened before and will likely happen again. The disproportionate response to these changes is more about cumbersome respec system in place. If the devs are going to continue to change IOs (which they should), they need to fix the respecifycation system so we don't have to throw away all our efforts.
So what if my scrapper can't take on 20 54's solo or solo a MITF like one player posted? That isn't part of the normal game. You can take any toon with just plain old enhancements or generic IOs and run the normal content in the game as it is designed.
Your own words say this has happened before and will likely happen again - then you should plan on that and accept it as part of the changing game. The devs made the right move IMO.
I won't bother debating anymore since it will be pointless over min/maxing items that I care nothing about. -
Quote:For the first, you want my honest answer? I simply don't care about these "billions". If a player had that much for this single set, then they can earn it back again. You never lose anything in this game. Beat a mob or whatever, you always gain, even in debt. In July, it will be 6 years for me. So what if it takes me a few months to earn back the influence I lost compared to 72+ months. (For the record, I will lose nothing with this change, just making a point.)Just to play devils advocate on those two points there. When those two things hit there were no IO's and thus a respec that wiped out enhancements (since you can only "store" 10 of them) only wiped out things that cost a few hundred thousand. With IO's a single respec could wipe out billions.
Personally the only thing I really don't like about it is how long it took them to make the change when they were informed the bonuses were overpowered when they first came out. Especially considering the fact that they consciously chose to not allow them to be slotted into prestige sprints because of being overpowered. I.E. they saw they were overpowered there and limited what powers they could be slotted in, they should have done their value tweaking then, not now.
To go with the second part of your post, if you couldn't see this as overpowered/out of whack because they were stacking, then "shame on you" as the saying goes. Remember the change to ET? People were talking about it for a long time and then it was changed. Look at the rage that followed like it was something new.
And lastly, the devs did it when they felt best to do it. They could have been collecting data on how much these are going, or seeing how they are slotted - gathering the right data to make an informed and correct decision for the game's future.
Edit -
I stand corrected for the last paragraph. Castle's post explaining the timing. -
Well, going along company lines, it was needed. The devs know what content they want to add and want to keep players interested in the game.
Admittedly, this game is easy. Just allowing it to be even more easy is not the best option forward. Players survived ED, GDN, and all the other changes, and they will keep playing even after these changes and any more that come up. -
Just tossing my 2 inf in.
First, although missions are relatively the same, the mobs, many times, are not. Clockwork vs. Carnie; Tsoo vs. Malta; etc. I know redside seems to suffer LB/Arachnos quite a bit, but some of the mobs that show up are a little different (like CoT mages changing at different levels). So the missions may not be greatly different, but your strategy in completing will be.
Second, I would like to see some of the missions changed as mentioned in the OP. My problem is that what is left apart from what is already there?
There are some examples of being different like the RWZ mission where you click glowies and avoid attacking certain mobs.
But, add a puzzle and the solution will be posted within "minutes" to some internet site. Multi-click and people would complain they can't solo.
Maybe the changes could be the maps themselves. Like in Bank missions and smashing through the doors to get to objectives, more turrets (upgraded even to laser/missle), or something like the end of the AST and you have to break through a barrier with a temp power you find. Add some more alarms when you open a door.
Just tossing out some ideas. -
Fascinating idea - definitely /signed!
Please PM the devs! -
Have fun tonight! Leaving to go out of town for the weekend. Otherwise would be there!

Quote:Curious what you base this on? What specifics make you not 100% anymore?Hmm. I not 100% sure of that any more. I think the developers have been retweeking some of the difficulties at times and have made things generally a little more difficult.
Quote:Some AT-combinations are starting to become harder to level.
Quote:And I don't even want to talk about the freaking mess they've made of duoing difficulties.
Quote:Probably not specifically because of IOs, but I bet it's hard to data mine difficulties of SO builds versus IO builds. -
Happy belated St Pat's Day everyone from us 50% Irish people!

Great time last night. Surprised how smooth it was. Thanks for setting up Hamster.
-
Ah, I didn't read it that way. Thought you meant your foot or hand would go to the ground, not the whole toon.
-
-
Just my opinion, but if you are off the ground (fly/hover), you can't stomp it - your leg won't get physically longer. Other reason, guessing, is there no animations done.
Have to ask a question in that does the game know how high you are off the ground? I could see the argument that if you are 1 ft off the ground then you could kick down somehow to reach. But what happens at other heights?
EDIT - ARGGHH!!!! Aett you are the fastest!!!! -
Any final word on this? If it is Saturday, hope you all have fun. If it is moved, is there specifics?
-
Sad I missed this. I expected this run to fly faster than the scrapper one.

/signed for this too!
(Although I do drive through Valley Forge, PA everyday...and see this all this time lol!) -

Not sure I will be there now. Kids issues.
