Each character, at creation and beyond, get the respec that your account qualifies for.

Always check your server forum. It seems other people had the same problem on Freedom, possibly a hiccup or a reboot. It seemed to clear up in less than 15 minutes. A client reload was not necessary to fix this problem because it seemed to be a server problem...

Ok, I bought it but I am a little disappointed with the magic cape. It has a beautiful texture on the outside, but just a flat image of it on the inside?
Ick! -
Quote:It is hard to see from his picture but I believe the OP has already hit the ED-capped roof on damage, so he will not see any improvement in his damage. He will have higher accuracy, but that won't really matter at what difficulty he has tested either (+1/x8).Here's an idea for a slow and fruitful start. Find two Acc/Dam set IO Melee recipes around L40-50 that are relatively cheap, and that you either have the salvage for, or that the salvage is relatively affordable.
Craft them (this will give you an idea of the crafting system, and the more you do it, the more you will understand the IO system in general, I think.)
Pick a power that has an Acc SO and a Dam SO, and replace them with your 2 newly crafted IOs. You should notice an immediate improvement in your orange numbers...
I think you should up your difficulty to the point where you are barely and consistently winning your fights; fights so close that you are left panting with exertion, where 1 more mob would have turned victory into defeat. Then evaluate it. Is it worth your time/effort/money to pursue a better IO'd build, or am I happy with my current limits? If you want more, ask yourself how can I survive if I up it another notch? Am I going to be defeated because I ran out of endurance and my toggles dropped? Or is there just going to be too much damage coming in to survive? Or will I survive, but not be able to pump out enough damage? Or am I whiffing too much now? Or if that one power had recharged faster, could I survive longer?
Once you figure that out, load up Mids and look for those sets that will shore up your particular weaknesses. And I agree with the other posters, use your second build for this.
Above all, have fun! -
I tried this when I was stuck in there before; clicking on the door that the arrow led me to gave me the usual nonsense about how I could not access this door. I ended up porting out to the Studio.

Just a question: why store influence in an e-mail? I mean, unless you have all 12-slots on all servers used up for legitimate characters, why not make a mule or 10, take a couple of hours to level them to 10, then have them hold the inf for you? That seems safer to me...
Anyway, I sure hope you get your inf back! -
It is normally not a problem for me, on most of my characters, but it is giving my low-level stalker fits. I solo a lot with him in the AE, and I know just how far to push him and what he can handle. Now, instead of those 2 +1 minions and a Lt., he is now facing that plus an additional wandering +2 Lt. from the next mob. I somehow cope...
Not saying it is a bad thing, just agreeing with the OP that something has changed with the mob AI, either intentionally or not. I DO believe that the "little school-girl" walk IS unintentional, but it is fun to watch big, tough guys like the Lost walking around, taking baby steps. The only thing missing are the plaid schoolgirl skirts...
Edit: Oh, and I noticed this with the Rikti monkeys last night in Crey's Folly, while farming them for my aura mission. As soon as they became visible to my hovering blaster, they started to spread out. -
Yes, demon-summoning as an AT for masterminds is only available after you purchase Going Rogue. It was opened up for everybody on this last free reactivation weekend. So unless you purchase the expansion, the character is off-limits to you now.
-
I agree with the OP completely. Something has changed when I18/GR was implemented. A mission that I intimately familiar with now has some of the mob wandering off into the next spawn, and my settings are default: 1/+0.
And they wander off with a little schoolgirl walk, short fast steps. It's hilarious to watch, if it wasn't frustrating at the same time. -
I'll gladly take you up on your offer! It is just that I am at work and I am not sure how much I have to convert. I am thinking anywhere from 50 - 200 million inf on Virtue. Ok with you?

And exactly WHAT does Praetoria being level-locked at 14 have to do with primals switching sides? Even if they won't be able to switch new Praetorians, they will still be able to switch Prime Earth toons, granted that they unlock that feature at all.
-
AND all of the new powersets... Why lock out just one of the features of the expansion? That doesn't make sense to those people that may reactivate for that mechanic if they can see what it is like, but don't give a flying squirrel about re-doing levels 1-20 (errrr, 14 for this time period). A little clarification is needed, me thinks...
-
Why wouldn't they be able to? The announcement said that everybody will have access to Going Rogue for 4+ days, and that is just enough time to switch over a character. Unless they somehow lock out just that feature...

Quote:This is exactly why I made one character in Praetoria and will never make another there. I play this game to escape the real world, not to relive it in my off-time. I WANT to play somewhere where everything is black or white, good or evil, and wallow in either one, depending on my mood at the moment. While I'll admit that the writing and arcs were top-notch, their ability to "mimic" the true-life happenstances occurring all around us has turned me off from Praetoria forever.I'm disgusted by neither group. What I have found absolutely intriguing about these discussions is the complete disconnect from the real world that many of you seem to have. Both of the extremes of Praetoria exist RIGHT NOW on this planet. Men who have schools named after them and statutes celebrating their accomplishments have done things more horrific than anything in these arcs.
I favor the Resistance side because I do not see them as sociopaths. Their cause is just like many revolutionaries in the past. I feel their methods are very extreme and only justified under the narrowest circumstances.
By contrast, I think the Loyalists are probably the less "cruel" side. But they are wrong. They take reprehensible actions for all the wrong reasons. So to me it's more like this: Do you join the Resistance and do horrific acts in service of a most just cause or do you join the Loyalists and do less horrific acts in the cause of slavery and oppression.
No disgust here, because I recognize that people have had to make these choices for most of human history. It's only because of our modern society that we have the luxury of being disgusted by these acts. In other parts of the world and in our own recent past, we would be making these choices ourselves.
I deal with real life 23 hours a day; let me play "make-believe" for just one to keep my sanity... -
Quote:Oh, puh-leeze....Why should the vast majority be deprived of what could otherwise be done with limited dev resources to design to the standards derived from anemic arguments being made by a very small segment of the market.
I'm not normally one to claim to speak for the majority here...
...nor am I usually one to demean one's concerns or trivialize the % of people that share those concerns...
... but in this case, do you REALLY see so many people "opting out" of your plan that it's really worth the resources expended developing such an 'opt' system, knowing that those resources are pulled from other tasks?
The technology is already in place; make all 4 powers available as a 0 month veteran reward, like the Axe and Sands of Mu. Claim them if you want them, ignore them otherwise. It may not be the best way to implement it, but it would be quick and painless. If you and your "vast majority" can't handle clicking a few buttons in the veteran badge menu, you could just wait until level 20, like now... -
Raise your hand here if any of you remember the "New Coke" debacle. The corporate peeps at that company thought at the time that Coke was getting old and outdated (same arguments some of you are using here), so a "facelift" was needed. The new and improved Coke went over like a brick. They didn't run it out against the old Coke to gauge what the populace would think; they just went ahead and blundered away.
What has that got to do with our situation?
Simple: Choice. The fans of Coke were not giving the choice to decide which they liked better, side-by-side, to gauge which was their favorite. If you look at all the new flavors coming out today, do you EVER see them (or Pepsi) repeating that mistake by replacing one with a new and improved version without doing some sampling first? Nope.
I personally would vote option #2, because I feel that we should never lose access to older stuff. Did all you people complaining about menu clutter, complain about the old versions of Positron and other revamped arcs going into the Ouroboros menus??
Basically, I think the Art department should do 5 or 10 upgraded pieces, put them in the costume creator next to the legacy pieces, and THEN ask our opinions. Just asking without seeing a decent size sampling is not sufficient. But, at least they didn't pull a total New Coke blunder... -
Why should I have to do this "work-around", when all the devs would have to do is to make all the fitness powers unlock at level 1 or 2, and then give the players the choice to claim them on a per-power basis, like the veteran powers. That way if somebody wants stamina but not swift or hurdle, they can. EVERYBODY wins...
-
I will also voice my concern here. I always take Swift on the way to Stamina, but I abhor and avoid Hurdle. I cannot stand the speed burst in the forward motion when you are just trying to get over a 1 foot ledge. When it is paired with Combat Jumping, it is barely tolerable, but not by much. I hope we have the option of "claiming" these powers at level 1 or 2, rather than having them forced on us.
In fact, I'd rather that they didn't make the fitness pool inherent at all. Instead, breathe life into the lower level hazard zones by making 5 or 6 mission task forces, starting at level 5, that as a reward, offer a 5% endurance modification. Do all 6 TFs, get a nice badge and a grand total of 30% modification. Don't like the "grind"? Don't do them and pick up the pool like normal if you want. Make them in Hollows, Perez Park, Boomtown, Faultline, Dark Astoria and Terra Volta. They would just have to make sure that they are fun, as well as productive (reward-wise.)
My $0.02 worth... -
I thought exemping didn't affect procs like stealth unless you greyed out the power...

^^ This.
Everybody (almost) is missing the text in his original post, and going off on a tangent, reminiscing. The Hollows entrance form Atlas Park is on the East end of the map. I believe it is marked by a red dot. Once inside, you should see Wilcott, the police officer. He is your first contact for missions in the Hollows, starting at level 5. If you are encountering level 15 mobs, I'll agree with the above poster in that you may have been going through Skyway to get there.
And if anybody bothers to PLAY through the Atlas Park contacts, veterans, you will see that they do indeed direct you to the next contact when you finish with them. They will allow you (usually) to pick from 2 contacts who you want to deal with. Then just select them out of your contact lists, and it will say what zone he/she is in. Check the map if you need to; there is a city zone tab that is VERY useful, as it even shows what tram lines go to which zones by the colored lines.
Above all, don't be discouraged and don't be afraid to ask questions, OP. Have fun!
