  3. It doesn't really take to long to get the threads or materials for a new T1, so yeah, just do as Klaw says. Make a T1 cardiac and test it out, see if it helps with your stamina problems.

I created a new Force Field / Beam Rifle Defender named Exit Stategy on Saturday afternoon. By the end of the day on Sunday, he was 38. I know I was on a team with Desi Nova at least once.
I find that some sets, such as plant controllers or dominators, don't get really fun until 26 or so. The problem is...I hafta to get them to that point...which was why I force leveled my plant/kin this weekend.
  5. Do I get to jump over Captain Mako while I ride a motorcycle?
  6. Walking into a room full of spawns with a machine gun in hand and spraying lead and shell casings until everything is dead, then moving on to the next group. Challenging, but not overwhelming. I want to be in danger of dying, I don't want to be one shot by a power coming out of nowhere with no warning. Working alongside other heroes, not just being superior to them. Taking a deep breath right before a difficult group of mobs, and then jumping in anyway.

i'm allergic. and they're boring. XD ...now if they were PANTHERS i'd be all over that.
Ignore'em. People used to get angry at me in WoW for being beastmaster back in vanilla, but that never stopped me from beating most of them in damage. *Shrugs* This is a slightly different case mind, but I am sure those people wouldn't think so. Since I wasn't going with the 'best', I was purposefully gimping myself.

    fixed.
No one is hating, just stating the obvious. Masterminds are built around and MEANT for minions, that is the whole point of the AT. It's also just obvious that you are gimping yourself to the extreme by not taking said minions. I don't think anyone has said "Don't do it", knock yourself out. That's the point in playing a game, after all, to enjoy yourself. Just don't expect yourself to be amazing in comparison to powersets using their full range of abilities.
  9. Is it doable? Yes. People like Plainguy have proven that it can be done. Will it ever be good? Eh, debatable. If you toss in Veteran powers, temporary powers, and later Incarnate powers then you'll be...doing more damage at least. But the problem is that Masterminds are balanced around having an army, so personal damage is low, and nothing is really going to change that. Secondaries are balanced around the same assumption, often resulting in reduced range and efficiency. About the best you can ever hope to be is a gimped defender.

That being said, if you want to do it, do it. You don't HAVE to have to take anything. Just understand that you won't be reaching anywhere near your full potential, and that there are probably people who aren't going to really like you coming into a team with 'gimp' status.
  10. One 45-50, one 22 to 32, and one 28-33. My goal was all of thee above, except I wanted to take the 33 to 35 so I could get my PPP and switch to heroside. No dice on that, but I was close!

Also, I think any game that boasts itself as a "Serious competitor to WoW" is doomed to failure. The only company that is going to kill WoW is Blizzard themselves.
And judging from them losing three million people in one expansion? They are doing a fine job of killing it themselves.
  12. I'm actually really curious about The Secret World, but...yeah. I only have enough spare cash for one MMO right now.

My view is that most MMOs are trying to be WOW 2.0 and make (to take a phrase from Wrestling) MILLIONS OF DOLLARS! and BILLIONS OF DOLLARS! Now this somewhat works for WOW except that in the past few years they have been steadily losing a the player base because every expansion they try to "reinvent" the game and each time they turn the system less and less interesting. The new talent system is a great example of why WOW is losing players, none of the choices really matter or are choices at all.

COH doesn't care about billions or dollars they focus more on making a good game, and improving upon what they have.
Yeah, explain that to Blizzard. Please. Blizzard doesn't seem to understand that you don't keep players happy by radically changing the game. You might attract a few new players to the new style, but you'll lose people who liked the game for what it was. But the name of the game is "Dumb it down!" now days. Up to and including the new talent system. They could have easily kept the old system and found a way to incorporate the new talents into them. But instead they said "Guess what guys? Now you have ALL the talents! ((So we know exactly what you have and can balance it as such)) And the unique talents you get every fifteen levels all do pretty much the same thing, so you can just take what you want!" Meh. On the one hand, I guess it does give you some...choice, since it doesn't matter much what you take. You can take whatever you want and do it in the way you prefer. That isn't the problem. The problem is they scrapped the system that they have had since inception in favor of it, and that is not a smart move at this point.

    Rant over! Sorry about that.
  14. I don't think MMO's are a dying breed at all. I think people just have more to choose from, so the numbers are getting spread out. Just because the 800 pound gorilla is finally starting to take a beating doesn't mean the whole market is going down.

Now you could make the argument that the monthly subscription MMO market is starting to go downhill and that might be a bit more accurate. More people want to play, but less people want to pay for it. Which I suppose is just human nature, but it does add appeal to the micro-transaction MMO's.

You've got quite the attitude, don't you? How about you get over yourself instead, and stop telling people to 'get over it'? You could have made your point just fine without that last little bit.

Just because it has been going on, doesn't mean he HAS to do it, or god forbid that people have to like it. The killing off of characters is fine, but he tends to have a certain way of Jossing them off. Personally it's not something I enjoy. Your mileage may vary.

That's true. Then I hope they KEEP a leash on him to prevent him from slipping into said 'coolness'. He did a good job with this one, and I'd rather he not screw up a good thing.

Ugh, don't joke. This is one of my major problems with Whedon, his weird Grim Reaper obsession. Course if he killed one of the main cast there'd be a good chance they'd either come back immediately, or in the next movie. But god forbid you be a likeable second string character.

I'm guessing its set to spawn an EB for every person in the party, but I had 8 or 9 of them! o_o; (And yes, for the record, I ended up faceplanting a time or two on that one...)
Again, though, I liked it. The waves of enemies coming at me truly made me feel like this was a 'Do or die' moment in the story. The odds were stacked against my character. The Talons of Vengeance knew that this battle would be pivotal against the Midnighters. As such, they threw everything they had at them.
Despite all that though, I still came out on top.

Really, the only part I have an issue with is the moment when Ward seems to flip sides for no real discernible reason. But, I understand the need for that from a story point of view...
If Ward hadn't been suddenly obsessed with vengeance, then Clarity's 'Nobel Sacrifice' would have been pointless...
That sounds accurate. Pretty sure I had mine on 0/3 and wound up with three EB's. The rest of it was a fun little struggle ((Sans the afore mentioned running enemies)) EXCEPT that part. But my minions just dropped way to fast for me to handle it ((Beast/Time at 31)). I probably could have set the difficulty down to one and done fine, but by that point I was just so frustrated that I auto'd it.
  21. Eh, we'll see where this goes. He earned a lot of credit with me with the first Avengers movie, but that didn't really give him enough time to slip into his bad habits. He tends to do phenomonal early on, then start slipping the longer it goes.

BUT! At this point he's earned a few slips. So no real worries I suppose.

That was my intention. I run pretty much every new support set through the ringer with a merc. But this one can be thematic with a number of sets. Leaf Ninja ((Don't punch me!)), ancient robots ((Like Castle in the Sky)) , peacefully rotting dead, Hippies ((Thug/nature)), earth demons, planetary defenders ((merc/nature))...this is going to be a lot of fun. It needs to come out in the next couple of weeks.

Also, totally going to make a plant/nature and find SOME variation of Green Thumb to work as a last name.

EXACTLY. Not like it would be a massive increase, but snipe criticaling coming out of stealth would help. Otherwise, get rid of it and give them another attack. Otherwise it floats right around the level of being totally useless.

Theme aside, not really sure why they even HAVE stealth if they don't get the critical aspect. Doesn't make a ton of sense.
  24. I disliked the Fantastic Four movies, but they've never really been one of the comics, as it were. Didn't mind Daredevil, but definitely wouldn't mind it getting back to Marvel. Liked X-1 and X-2, loathe, despise, and hate with a passion X-3. Disliked Wolverine. Went in expecting to HATE First Class, ended up really liking it. Liked Spidey 1 and 2, disliked Spidey 3. Didn't expect to like the reboot, ended up liking it more then the first two movies. Loved Ironman 1, eh about Ironman 2. Loved Captain America, liked Thor, liked the new Hulk. LOVED THE !@#$ OUT OF THE AVENGERS.

Er, right, contribute to the thread! I hope to the WELL OF FURIES that they don't crap out a movie just to mantain the rights to it.
