Same guy (or at least same nictus symbiote). All that pounding he recieved in the ITF convinced him to see the error of his ways. -
I'm pretty confident that MA will not disalow dulplicate names.
However, missusing someone else's character in a mission would be classified as griefing, should the mission be reported as offensive.
And all the usual EULA rules about not using copywrite characters or real people would still apply. -
I think I should mention that the reason the VEATs are so hard to pin down is because they get a much broader selection of powers than any other AT (including keldians).
This means you can make them pretty much whatever you want them to be. -

I thought there was a setting for opening animation on the screenshots?
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah yes, found it!
But wouldn't it play continously while the mob was passive? could look a bit silly unless there was a goodly pause in between.
Hijacking the Garvord powers might be better, as they almost always activate Intergation at the start of a battle. -
The screenshots I have seen didn't give any indication that you could set animations.
Invunerability would be better than regen. Or I could use the powers from a Garvord. -
Which powers use the chest thumping emote?
The ones I can think of are Tough and Intergration, are there any others?
I'm trying to put an ape into an MA mission, I don't particularly want to give them /Regen. -
If you can't include all that information in 510 characters, you need to write more concisely.
The devs are just as vunerable to the lethal Wall-of-Text +10 as anyone. Throw to many words at them and they are likely to miss the important ones. -
Yes, a global defense buff increases base defense.
It's very powerful since it defends against everything, including things like hamidon.
The only power I have that buffs base defense is the veteran Shield Drone. PFF used to buff base defense, but it may have been changed. -
Yes. There is a paramater called Global Defense that is added/subtracted to all defensive values (including toxic and untyped afaik)) before typed/positional defense is applied.
No set bonuses and very few powers buff GD, but it is used for -def effects. -
You guys don't get it do you.
The EU version of the GvE pack made a BIG STINKING LOSS.
They are hardly likely to try that again now the game is 2 years older.
And you can advertise as much as you like, people won't buy a 5 year old game.
You have to face it, CoX is never going to be any bigger than it is now. All things like the MA can do is make the decline as gradual as possible, whilst NCNC work to get CoH2 finished. -

rather than having nice shiny boxes in nice shiny stands in major game shops for the casual walk past buyer to go "oooooo that looks fun" the way I did.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are still failing to grasp that they could print as many nice shiny boxes as they want but there is nothing they can do to make retailers put them on the shelves. -

Well why people bother to deal with WW if they can sell it to the any store with a higher value?

So that people can find the recipes they want.
If everyone does it it makes it easier for you to find the recipes you want. -
Yeah, thought about swapping for Power Boost myself, but am also aware of Castle's feelings about it!
Probably because it would be broken when used in conjunction with click +def powers, like parry.
Maybe a cut down version that only buffed healing, end drain and end recovery. -
Power Surge is fine. If Power Sink got the same healing as the EA version, and was moved to tier 7, Elecric Armour would be a very strong brute set, and fair on scrappers and tankers.
The only remaining problam is what to do with a power that is pretty much superflous to requirements on most ATs(Conserve Power). -
I had some thoughts on how (not to) design custom factions, but I was overcome with a strange urge to turn it into a fanfic.

From the personal memoirs of Dr. Thaddeus Aeon AQSA

It has occurred to me that with Architect due to go live in a few weeks, it is possible that I may be somewhat inundated with suggestions of how my great invention could be improved. Map editor! Why would they want a map editor when all the maps are already perfect?!
Unfortunately, in as a result of a small misunderstanding over a few words I put in his mouth with Architect, Marshal Brass seems reluctant to provide adequate security, so I have decided to design a robotic security force capable of dealing with any unwelcome superpowered visitors.
The basic minion rank unit will be relatively cheep, so it can be mass produced. It will be equipped with Force Field generators, and capable of Empathic healing. If there is anything heroes love more than a heal-bot, its lots heal-bots protected by virtually impenetrable force fields! A self destruct function would be desirable, but exceeds budget constraints.
Note to self: The Empathy function will require the inclusion of organic brain matter into the positronic matrix. Talk to Countess Crey about obtaining suitable donors.
The heal-bots will have minimal offensive capabilities, but I propose to fit the mid range unit with Talsorian claws. I have observed that Vanguard use them very effectively against all kinds of armor.
The most expensive, heavily armored units will provide ranged fire support. Arming them with both sonic beam projectors and high energy plasma flamethrowers, they should be able to target whole groups of heroes symultaiously, and prevent any tanks or expendable minions absorbing damage for whole teams.
All units will be equiped with teleportation devices for improved mobility and response. -
+def wouldn't really help suvivability all tham much, unless it is a very big amount.
It's not electric's ability to reduce incoming damage that is it's weakness, it's its ability to recover from damage.
It's down to concept, and the set being deliberatly designed for brutes.
Most brutes are limited by thier blue bar for how high they can sustain fury, Electric brutes are intended to be limited by thier green bar.
Once you start proliferating to other ATs, this idea breaks down. -
It's easy to have plot reasons for kill alls.
Building infested by monsters? If you don't kill the lot of them they will just breed more. -
Kill All missions are sometimes needed for story reasons, but it should be avoided when the plot doesn't require it. Not only because it can be teadious sometimes, but also because it tends to dilute other, more complex and interesting objectives.

It seems to me that these boards are turning into a parrot cage!
every time someone replies to a new post, several other people simple repeat the answer in other words...
then someone adds a little extra to the reply and, again, someone repeats this in their post...
isnt there a better way to get a high post count?
a very good example is this post where i (for once) made the first reply, only to see several other people repeat exactly what i wrote...
isnt my reply good enough? i can understand why some people wants to add something extra to the reply, but i just dont get it when one or more people repeats everything everyone else has already written.

The Archetect boxed edition is due 12 April, not March.
Since it will ship with issue 14 on disk, it will have to go live a week or so before that, but the exact date will depend on how the beta testing goes.
I expect the extra time means that issue 15 is basically ready to hit test when issue 14 goes live, but the testing process will probably need around 6 weeks, so issue 15 won't be before mid may.
I'm pretty certain a world event, along the lines of an invasion, is planned for the run up to issue 15, co insiding with the 5th aniversery. -
You don't have to play a villain to do a villainous mission. All missions are available to everyone.

The spreedsheet still has to have an entry for accuracy, even if the power is autohit. It doesn't matter what the value is, but there has to be something there.
Energy Absorption is defiantely autohit.
